Lovely movie. I went not knowing anything about it and felt so immersed in the character performances and realistic societal issues. I found it was a great coming of age movie. I hope many people look into it.

It's simple. Just call out people and ask them if the "disposable" would be an acceptable characteristic to call to women, black people, gay people, asian people, white people, the homeless, the elderly, the disabled, etc. What excuses can one present to justify bigotry? There's a chance they'll make a fool of themselves; if not, then there's a chance you can have a rational discussion with them.

Nursing was a male profession. As a nursing student, I'm just going to say that this is completely wrong. Jesus, I love it. "Equal pay for equal work" There seems to be an emphasis on 'equal pay' but I rarely witness anyone bring any arguments for 'equal work.' They compare the wages of nurses to doctors to nursing administration, where is the 'equal work'?

I'm glad that it's becoming an issue. Ryan Grossing's character in Blue Valentine gets into a fight with his wife and he asks, "'Be a man?' What does that even mean! Fine I'll be a man" and then he proceeds to throw things around and says, "Yeah, I'm being a man." I think it was a good scene to show how infuriating that phrase is.

It appeared very clearly that a theory is as close to as fact as possible. It is possible that the process of evolution is not completely correct; the information we gather continues to develop. "Idiot" may be a strong word but anyone who immediately disagrees with Evolution without understanding its processes are uneducated in my opinion.

Definitely try to reason with her. At first, my girlfriend and I argued about many gender issues (we still do) and it eventually lend to a mutual respect for both genders. If she cannot be reasoned with, this is a definite dealbreaker; I have broken up with a few girls due to similar scenarios.
