I had a similar experience. I reconnected with a friend when she heard about my divorce. We met up for dinner and one thing led to another and we ended up at her apartment. Next morning felt so empty and I felt ashamed that I broke my convictions I realized that I can’t do one night stands.

No matter how dark it gets and how long it feels like it’s taking, there is light at the end of the tunnel. It will pass eventually so just keep going until you’re clear. The sun will come out tomorrow

I’m in the same boat. The house is just empty when he’s with his mom. It’s been like this for almost 4 years now and drop off days haven’t gotten easier. 50/50 custody only means I get to see him 6 months out of the year.

It happened to me too. I waited about 7 months before doing it. I also had guilty thoughts and feelings like I had an affair. If you’re hooking up with randos then that might be why, if it’s a new flame then a couple of rounds and you’ll see that it’s nothing to worry about. You’re free and clear. You made it out to the other side and you’re allowed to do what you want. Don’t sweat it and enjoy it. It’ll soon be behind you.

Oh no, while we are amicable she went did and said things that crossed boundaries. There’s no going back from that level of disrespect

Thank you everyone for your comments and support. I never intended to reunite with my ex but felt burdened by the guilt I have in me. It’s great to know that this seems to be a common response for people in my situation. You all have given me great insights into how I’m feeling and how I need to deal moving forward

I understand this completely. I also revert back to those ways and those feelings when I’m around her or when I let her get under my skin. Just her and no one else

I didn’t even think of this angle.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
