Thanks. I was going to post something like this but you nailed it. Not everyone is the same, but my beta behavior wasn't some ploy to get sex. It was a genuine longing for love and intimacy and acceptance and companionship with a female partner. There were lots of insecurities and neuroticism tied up in it, but it was not malicious. It could only be considered "manipulative" in the sense that I wanted to put my best foot forward in order to gain attention/love/respect/companionship. Sex was alwa…

This is by far the best answer. Thanks. I am 31 yo and hang out with music scene (often college age) girls. There is a unique "personality" and political stance that will go over well with these type of people in general. But I like that your idea of not letting it effect you emotionally.

But there's probably a big difference between agreeing with it on an intellectual level and agreeing to it on an internal level.

Honestly, what percentage of women would NOT describe themselves as a feminist? 10%? 5%?

When a girl I was dating kept lying to me it really started to drive me mad. Lying has that effect on the person being lied to. Especially when you WANT to believe the other person. Re-writing history (gas-lighting) is especially maddening. She is basically accusing you of being crazy. If you put up with this shit you start to believe that maybe you are the crazy one. After all, she's so adamant that your recollection of events is wrong. I learned the hard way that I should have just soft-nexted…

Thanks everyone. I am leaning toward BJJ based on everyone's advice. There is a training center in town. As time goes on, I may want to add some Judo or something, but I will focus on BJJ first.

My goals are the following: -Get in shape -regain some confidence in myself on a personal level -gain confidence about being able to defend myself in a practical situation -develop discipline Based on everyone's helpful advice, I'm leaning toward BJJ. There is a training center in town.

It certainly happened to me. After I tried to assert some control over the situation she figured out a way to spin it around (by exploiting my weaknesses) until I was begging her back. Then I could feel the satisfaction oozing out of her as she rejected me and twisted the knife.

Thanks for the advice. I am drawn toward a Martial Art too. Aside from getting in shape and getting stronger, it could help boost my confidence if I feel wholly capable of defending myself.

Find a private space and practice singing some songs that you like. It doesn't have to be good singing. That's not the purpose of this exercise. Just to see if you can get more control over modulating the pitch of your voice. Pay attention to how emotive speakers speak. For example, at the end of a sentence, people usually raise the pitch of the last syllable. Don't they? By raising the pitch of the last syllable, you're communicating something to the listener through emotion, rather than just s…

"monotone" means that you don't raise and lower the pitch of your voice. If you raise and lower the pitch of your voice (which is really all that singing is) it gives more character and emotion to your voice. You can say the same sentence with two different "melodies" and have them mean two different things. Maybe practice singing. Do you sing?

I appreciate the constructive advice, asshole. I'm here because I just found TRP and know I need a complete overhaul. I'm hoping this will be a place where I can get some advice from other men who have found their way out of being a "Beta Bitch" and not simply be shamed for my previous mistakes by assholes like you. Gotta start somewhere. These are skills that I can learn. And calling me "hopeless" is kind of the anti-thesis of TRP isn't it? I am waking up to the way things really are, rather th…
