New muscle means greater glycogen stores and more water retention. If you are training hard you need more than that bro. I haven’t looked into the numbers you gave just there so I won’t say you’re wrong, but if that’s the case then if you are lifting hard your body will need more than +165 a day to build muscle. As a noob, you could eat almost anything and build muscle, but more experienced guys will definitely need more calories. 300-500 surplus is the recommendation, would lean more towards 300 if you are worried about staying lean.
