Fair enough.

How young are we talking? I get it if you're like 18-20. Above that, and it's just making poor choices in my opinion. I can easily tell which guys that I meet (in a friend capacity) have their life together or not. I'm not sure why it takes so long for women (who are seeing them much more intimately) to figure it out.

I guess my question is more - why would you get the feels for such an incompetent guy anyway?

This is actually very helpful, thank you. I've never seen it spelled out so plainly. I appreciate it!

Still not exactly sure what you're getting at...I don't have that many time consuming hobbies, mostly just work or competitive cycling. I would be looking for someone who is equally serious about work and active in some capacity.

Could you give an example of a low stakes out?

Ok, good points.

Interesting point, and probably correct. The problem I have is that I like the setup I have too much (my lab, cycling group), that if I were to make it awkward with any women in my circle, it would be challenging to enjoy my work and activities fully. That's my hesitation. Also most of them are not single.

Ha, well where can I meet them then?

What does UMC stand for? Do you think students have the highest standards? What about professional women?

Really? Even successful women?

Elaborate

Maybe looks, but do they really like it? They enjoy cleaning up after a gross dude?

This is a good point. I do have some standards myself, of course. Perhaps the women complaining like this are not great catches as you say, and are willing to deal with any mistreatment.

How do some men even get into relationships? In a lot of these threads, women will complain how they have to take care of their boyfriend, cook for them, clean their filthy rooms, do their laundry, and even manage their schedules. How is it possible that someone so dysfunctional is able to even get a date with a woman, let alone have her do all this crap for him? I'm a very successful grad student, a serious cyclist, and can obviously take care of myself, yet I can't even get a single like on hi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
