I’ll clarify: It’s not the new spouses income itself that triggers the change, but rather how it contributes to a net decrease in individual expenses for the obligee. You’re right in that stepparents have no legal obligation to the stepkid. But if they’re the ones paying the rent now, watching the kids instead of a babysitter/daycare, or otherwise significantly reduction the financial burden, then the payee of child support may petition to have the amount reduced. Well if she remarried, the new spouses income would also be her income. In my readings, usually depends on the state. Some states will consider services provided or financial contributing to expenses as a basis for adjusting support

Hope you’re keeping track of all the payments and both of y’all’s income (though you could subpoena your ex’s later if need be). You can appeal and get it changed, and may even be able to recoup the excess payments you made

$400 base rate, $480 until some $9K on back child support is paid off. For a year she kept our kid from me while I was doing everything I could to try to effect 50/50, and she gets to get paid for it.. Child support is calculated by the difference in your incomes. If you make more, that difference increases, as does CS. Your state should have a calculator online you can punch numbers into.

This one does, on account of her being two lol I’d be fine doing no video calls either way. We rotate on a 2 week basis and the “only time” my ex is available is when I’m driving home from work.

Florida already finalized the divorce though. They utilized the UCCJEA to establish jurisdiction when no state clearly had it, so I don’t understand why this now would be a “starting point”.

My ex lives in Michigan, so half the time our daughter is supposed to be there. My ex has lived there since June of last year, but I filed with Florida in May since I’ve been a resident my whole life.

Thing is she’s operating within the bounds of the order. Just being hellacious about it As a man, I’ll suck it up for now, but best believe I’m just biding my time until the final hearing. If/when she loses legal custody, and maybe physical, that’ll be my victory. Then I could easily make and enact decisions that’ll let both of us be in our daughter’s life. Cuz after all this, she is still going to need her mother…

I agree with everything except the simp part. There are NO feelings for her, I promise you that. I text back because I guess I wish that she would somehow become a fucking adult about the situation, but again: you’re right. Can’t skip the mediation part unfortunately due to it being a requirement in Florida, but I trust my lawyer. He killed me in preparation for the first hearing to prepare me against the opposing counsel, and then absolutely slaughtered my ex on cross-examination. I don’t mind …

Overall, I’m going for primary or 100% At least that way I can set the schedule for Her visitation and ensure it’s fair and reasonable Like, her proposed plan currently would give her our daughter for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, when she had both last year and our daughter has still yet to meet my side of the family.

Daughter is a year and a half Previously I would see her almost every day for 30 minutes to an hour MON-FRI while she was at daycare. I’d see her during my lunch. I’d also get up to eight hours every Sunday. I always asked for more time and overnights, which my wife always said no to. The one time I did just take my daughter for an overnight, I gave my wife plenty of notice ahead of time and gave the location. She still made a huge racket over it with our commands.
