Very well put. And I think a great avenue for helping get people who might be sympathetic but have been indoctrinated for so long to get on board. These kinds of one to one analogies have helped a lot of women in my life change their minds. It helps when it's pithy and irrefutable.

This is actually a really good point. We occasionally talk here about the overlaps of race in these kinds of instances but also should be thinking about socio-economic overlaps just as much when it comes to violence on the streets.

Yeah that particular aspect of the comment shows an astounding lack of awareness. BLM is as much about black men as anything else, at least from my understanding. I do see a somewhat interesting habit to treat black men and what happens to them having no intersection with them being black and a man. It's both issues.

Very much agree. PUA is certainly problematic at best, certainly in a lot of its more recent incarnations (e.g. redpill). I think anyone who doesn't acknowledge that dating and flirting is fucking hard and confusing is lying to you. As someone already said it's highly dependent on you interact with as well. I 1000% agree with your first three paragraphs. Very well said, the behavior is axiomatically against what is so often claimed as a very core rule of intersectional feminism. It's crazy. I still struggle, for myself at least, to have a good definition for what toxic femininity is. Although I 100% see where you're coming from. I think it's still up for debate what we could label as toxic femininity. I don't like the term toxic masculinity either, wish there was a better word for both!

I agree I can't see how it's worthy of a ban.. let the community discuss it or ignore it, that's why it's there. With that said, menslib frequently goes into quite good in depth discussion of harmful legislation to men and women and the interplay between the two. OPs paragraph shouldn't have been banned, but it's certainly not much of starting point for discussion for a place that regularly has much more productive conversations.

Although I would be careful to ascribe this behavior to outside a very vocal minority in the BLM/SJW crowd, that is exactly how it used by that particular subset of the broader movement. It shuts the conversation down instantly. Your last paragraph is an excellent example of a significantly more effective approach, likely where everyone learns something and increases justice for all.

This is a huge point that I wish more people would pick up on in progressive spaces. You said it very well. There is clearly one standard for most groups about who can label them and their right to define which labels are and aren't useful/harmful... and one entirely separate one for male identifying people.

I certainly feel like they can be harsh to censor too fast on menslib. I think they should have let your post stand and let people in the community sort through it themselves versus making that call for them. With that said, it's certainly ground that has been covered extensively before on menslib. Of course that doesn't mean it shouldn't be continually brought up! But your last paragraph is decidedly lacking in nuance, which isn't too helpful to anyone. Ban is still too harsh IMHO.
