That sucks, hopefully nothing too personal to ridicule you in front of friends and family. When my ex told me her mind was made up and she was done, I changed my mindset regarding her to a business transaction. I treat her like nearly every other person I see in public keeping her out of my business and staying out of hers. We share two kids so there has to be a bit of overlapping but I keep it as minimal as possible.

For me it was the thought she could flip at any moment from our agreements and go scorched earth. Even on the day of our hearing for dissolution, she almost effed up and caused it to go from uncontested to contested....almost.

Was married 6.5 years and I ended up keeping the house. Literally within 24 hours after Judge signed I painted several walls to change it up. The walls painted were "her signature". Make it your own, change up the pictures hanging around, maybe change up the air freshener to create a different smell...all at your pace of course.

Yea I definitely get it. Just know that if she screams lawyer threatening to take everything, the court looks at what is fair on CO. They are not going to put you or her out on the streets.

I'm in Arapahoe County and my stbxw and I are filing uncontested. Good chance you will have to pay some alimony but it may not be as bad as it sounds. Google alimony support calculator in Colorado. It should take you to a family law website where you can input you income info etc. Even though she isn't currently working, she will have to input minimum wage which will bring your obligation down.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
