| 24 | As a woman, I came here expecting a load of bull, as the media portrays it..I think the internet helped change a lot of people's definitions of what the feminist group is. You give people the ability to see what the group members write, and what they believe, and you also give people the ability to see what accomplishments (legislation and protests) the group has had. When I started seeing the protests against MRA speakers, who were saying nothing about feminism or women, it spoke volumes. I have a few thoughts on why this happened, and what makes other political/social groups different. Most of these groups have a section of them that take the base idea a step too far, or are member of that group due to some deep seeded hatred. Some atheists take it too far, and want to restrict personal freedoms, ban religion, or ban religious people from positions.
