Of course it’s an estimate, every number is an estimate. “Low guess” is purely speculative and not supported by anything. Also, you can’t misconstrue sexual assault and rape. Okay so my fault, of women who went to the police (presumably as part of the process to go to court) or women who went to court. In the case of the article, my assumption would be her story had significant inconsistencies making it plainly obvious to law enforcement she had lied. But yeah the 3% number comes from the number of proven made up stories in court. Yeah dude the 3% number comes from women who specifically choose to prosecute and are so obviously lying that they can prove they made shit up. It doesn’t apply to court cases where there’s not significant evidence and it definitely doesn’t apply to all the women walking around who claim they’ve been “raped 3 times in the last year cuz men are pigs” but never go to court.

Came here to say this. I’m in some part happy to see a woman come out of this whole thing without legal rights to her husbands testicles, but at the same time this just feels wrong. Don’t get married, men, and now also women. It often ends badly and divorce court is a disaster
