For women, it seems to be. If we have the technology to give that option to men, why not?

single men can adopt.. In theory, but they will not allow single men to adopt new borns, only grown children in their teens. Most agencies will consider placing new borns with single moms. Being a foster parent to an already grown child is vastly different than raising with your own values and experiences. For men to obtain that life experience right now, it has to receive the validation of women via surrogacy or traditional relationships. This isn't the same for women. I think artificial wombs …

I think you should look up what a non-sequitur is. It's not an opinion you don't like. It's something that is irrelevant to the conversation. We're talking about artificial wombs, which is obviously related to single fatherhood. Can you follow that, or should I explain more? You also don't acknowledge why this is a rare case. Men rarely get sole custody of kids during divorce because our society assumes the mom is the default parent. Single men who would make great fathers don't get to adopt, an…

But isn’t the main argument against women who have money adopting kids per getting IVF is that kids actually need both parents at home and a nanny and daycare are proper substitutes for parents. Yeah, but they have the option, don't they? Single men can't adopt and have virtually no reproductive rights. I think this is a cool idea to balance that out. Also most men cannot afford the cost do essentially full time 24/7 child care I never said most, I said many. I've done the math with my income, a…

Just anecdotal, but the people I've known that have been raised by single dads are generally awesome people. The people raised by single moms? Not so much.

It's more like men don't want to have to have their reproductive rights validated by women (especially modern women) in order to become a parent. Many men have enough money for a night nanny and daycare. Money and time aren't issues for some men, and sharing your life with a woman isn't as desirable as it used to be. I think artificial wombs would be an awesome development for society.

Women are smarter in this regard. And they are playing an easier game. No one suspects or wants to punish women. People jump at the opportunity to punish men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/24 01:55 PM

What a coward. I can't stand people who spew sexist things and then try to hide behind feined ignorance. You know exactly what you said. The bar for men here is low, so praise is easy to get.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/24 10:16 PM

That's not my whole argument. Quit being obtuse. I think women who think that "adult men don't cook, clean, or know how to take care of themselves" are simply only interacting with loser men and are probably losers themselves. As other men have pointed out in this thread, normal men do all these things and more. If you have this opinion of men, you're probably not attractive enough to interact men who aren't like this. I didn't simply call her a loser out of nowhere like you're implying. I think…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/24 09:09 PM

Just an observation. Most men do these things and don't make videos about it. My assumption is that she associates with losers because she is also a loser. It's not a terrible assumption to make, nor a hard argument to follow.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/24 08:48 PM

Maybe you're not attractive enough to be able to attract men who aren't losers? Most men do these things and don't need to be praised about it. How do you think single men survive?

Houses are not fungible assets. You can own a home, but you can buy anything with that unless you sell the home and convert that to cash. You can't provide anyone just by owning a home. You need cash and/or income. Young men tend to prioritize those things over owning non-fungible assets.

I think there's obviously remnants of this idea that men have to provide eventually in order to be accepted in a relationship. Men feel they shouldn't tie up money in a house, the associated property taxes, and household investment before partnering and prefer more fungible assets like stocks that can easily be turned into cash. Women don't have this financial expectation, so they are more likely to tie up their money in assets like this before partnering because they don't have this innate expe…

Exactly, I even see women clearly reading that stuff in public and I always thought it was weird how they are comfortable doing that. I think female sexuality is just much less threatening to society than male sexuality. That is why there are different rules and attitudes towards it.

Real porn tends to be looked down upon because it can be made under abusive/coercive circumstances Fair point, but I would say animated or AI porn has the same stigma. I'm not sure how much it really has to with how much people care about women who are sex workers. Take sex dolls, for example. Women seem to find this as worse than porn or erotica, but no one is taken advantage of here. I think the stigma is more about controlling male access to sex and remnants of puritanical beliefs than it doe…

Women are already more likely to own sex toys and if you count lude romance novels and fan fiction women already spend far more time consuming pornography. I always thought this was weird how literary porn (romance novels, erotica, etc.) isn't seen as negative as visual porn. I think it sets up the same unrealistic standards and decreases sensitivity to real-life romantic encounters. I guess because it's mostly consumed by women, people are hesitant to call it out.

someway women always seem to get involved with the guys that want to play the field Could be a bit of ego involved. "I know many have tried, but I can be the one to 'fix' him." It sucks seeing women friends fall for this over and over, and, worse, they paint all men with that brush based on their experience with a small subset of men. Really screws up their mindset when it comes to dating.

Don't women have the same hangups? They complain about fuckboys, players, and not having relationships, but then they turn around and have casual sex with them the most and make the men that want to have relationships wait. I don't think logic plays a huge role in people's personal choices. People do and say what they want to in the moment and then complain about it later.

But if more women are attracted to alpha males and not beta, why would they wish those alpha guys had some beta qualities therefore, out of curiosity? I don't think most women actually know what they want in a partner until they actually experience it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/24 02:26 PM

A man who refuses the call when his people are threatened? Absolutely. True men think for themselves and don't fall for the hero propaganda that's pumped into boys from birth. No, you don't need to sacrifice your life and body for some cause the government decided it wants to take up. That's not what a man is. That's what cannon fodder is.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 11:47 PM

Nobody here wants to help you pay for your unwanted kids. That's what abortion is for. It's unwanted because the mother decided to birth it. Women are no longer financially dependent on men, so I'm not even sure why people are bringing up money. Can't women, the financially independent people who decided to keep a child against the will of the person they had sex with, take responsibility for their decision?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 04:49 PM

Not to the child. Are you new to the discussions? Women have the capacity to earn money now. They are financially independent from men. I don't know why this sub acts like this is the 1950's. Crazy idea, but the financially independent person who had the sole choice to keep the baby shouldn't be financially entitled to an unwilling person's money simply because they had sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 02:23 PM

So I'm assuming you're pro-life and against abortions. If women don't want children, they should just keep it in their pants.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 02:19 PM

men are always accountable because men are in charge What is this? The 1960's. We don't live in a patriarchal society. Women inhabit positions of power now as well. This line doesn't work anymore. Times have changed, and we need the laws to change as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 02:15 PM

mostly so the taxpayers don't get roped in supporting your kid Why doesn't the human who decided to have the child be responsible for it? Young women are financially independent from men and making just as much money as their counterparts nowadays, but we still have this idea that a child needs a man to provide for it. That's not the case anymore. Practice what men have told women to do for decades: abstain. You mean in past decades, right? Women no longer live by this standard. So you are basic…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 02:10 PM

The person who decided to keep the baby against the will of the other person they had sex with. That's my vote for who should foot the bill.

The US is 10th in the world in welfare spending per capita, above countries like Switzerland, the UK, Australia, and Canada. This idea that the US doesn't have social safety nets is simply a myth.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 01:41 PM

I disagree. I think you'd barely notice a difference. In fact, there would probably be less incentive for these men to interact with women at all, so the unpleasant encounters you're talking about will most likely decrease, not increase. How would less unwanted interaction with men be a bad thing for women?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 10:03 PM

I think the impact on society would be less sexual frustration in lonely men and less dependence on actual women via sex work for that relief. I don't understand how you could see that as a negative unless there was some jealousy involved.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 09:01 PM

It is hard to engage with anything you write because it sounds like a madlib with random words strung together, but i will try. In your post, you reference a comment and then don't list or quote the comment. No one knows what comment you're referring to. I mean, someone is the father. They could go after that guy instead of the innocent one. It just sounds like the government didn't want to lift a finger and do the right thing because the victim of this is a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 04:26 PM

You don't, as a woman, just get to pick your favorite man in that situation. You have a duty to find out who the real father is. This isn't some reality show. It is people's lives.

The thing I don't get is why women get so upset and judgemental over this. Let the men that you don't want to have sex with do what they want. Who does this harm exactly? I find it funny that in an age where every sexuality and every identity has to be validated and accepted, we still can't let lonely men who can't get sex masturbate how they want to without being vilified.

Men used to have their own spaces, actually. Country clubs, boy scouts, social drinking clubs like the Elks, etc. Women invaded those spaces, all while demanding to keep their own spaces men-free. I'm happy that men are starting to reclaim those a bit even if it's just online. Hopefully, it will turn into actually physical clubs and social spaces eventually.

Men were key figures in the suffrage movement, though. I'm not saying women weren't. People remember Lucretia Mott, for example, but people don't realize that her husband was actually Chair of the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first major. Things like this have been erased from history in favor of your narrative that only women were involved in a fight against men. The reality is that even most women back then didn't want the right to vote, and it was a select group of women AND MEN pus…

lesbian divorce rates are near 80%, gay men are 20%. Not saying I disbelieve this, but do you have a source? My experience aligns with this quite a bit, actually. My lesbian friends always seem to rush into things and then have them blow up out of nowhere, or they devolve into essentially roommates who date other people. My gay friends are exactly the opposite. I've known couples who have been married since the first year it was legal. I just wondered if there was data to back this up.

Women are doing that. With a great deal of help from men. I don't know why you guys keep leaving that crucial point off. My point is that men should stop doing that because the same level of empathy is not reciprocated to us.

Women do with a great deal of help from men. Most women's movements in the West were ironically started by men. Maybe men should just stop helping "women's issues" is my point. I'll even take it a step further, women actively worked in Canada to shut down men's shelters. Maybe men should do the same for women's only shelters.

Yeah, I feel this way about women's issues as well. I couldn't care less about the wage gap. It's not my job to make you more money. I don't care that some places don't have elective abortions. I don't feel the need to care about catcalling, slut shaming, or anything else that women constantly whine about in their daily lives. Aren't you a human as well? Fix it and quit blaming others for these things.

By OP's metrics of gullibility and agreeableness, women are objectively worse than men. Virtually every single sociological study on personality shows that women are more agreeable than men. I'm not sure that OP's one single example is really the dunk they think it is.

Too many women (and too many men) refuse to accept the truth that she is not special. She can rationalize in her head why she is worthy of a top 5% guy, but the fact that they guys are not interested in seriously dating or committing to her, shows that she isn't on that level. I know many women like this in the city. This is a group of women who spent their adolescent years watching Disney princesses get the handsome princes. Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean other women wouldn't either. The majority of men don't misrepresent themselves either. Women cheat, monkey branch, become abusive just like men do. I don't think this is really a gendered thing.

Car salesmen always show you the best parts of used cars. Realtors show you the best parts of the house and ignore the flaws. But if you buy a clunker or overpay for a crappy house, that's on you. Judging people's intentions and sensing when people are bullshitting you is a social skill. Develop it and stop expecting salesmen to stop trying to sell bad products.

32m, only one. Turned out to be a pretty good one, so I'm still dating her. Before that, I would ask out maybe one or two ladies per year. I think that's a good number. In my early 20's, I would do more, but rejection can take a toll on you. I don't think men get enough credit for taking the brunt of rejection and the emotional work it takes to stomach it in the dating world.

But they aren’t messaging these women because they’re attracted to them. That's all sexist conjecture on your part. That's what your whole perspective on this is based on. Just think about that. You talk like in this study the bottom 80% of men got zero messages and never spoke with anyone Strawman, I never said that, and you know I didn't. It's funny how you guys keep bringing up points that support my initial claim. Men take this scattershot approach because men tend to like a wider range of women, whereas women's attraction is more focused on a subset of guys. So, playing the numbers game is really the only effective approach for men. Ask yourself why women don't take this approach. message women they aren’t interested in all the time. Met one of the few awesome ones 😉 Best of luck to you, though. You're going to need it. You think you're out of the top 20%, when you're actually out of the top 60%. No, there are different levels of attraction between men and women. You can't apply the 20/80 rule to men. Men found 60% of women attractive in the okCupid study, and that's aligned most studies on attraction. So, by your logic, men are forming their opinion based on the majority of women, not 20%.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/23 01:50 PM

The 20% doesn't apply to men, though. We have a wide range of attraction than women do. We don't think only 20% of women are "hot".

American culture, however, has a VERY strong fixation with high-octane masculinity. Do we? Compared to what, though? Relative to other parts of the world, western countries don't have this emphasis on manhood/masculinity. Western countries are literally as tolerant as you get when it comes to accepting different types of people.

No, that's wildly incorrect. The word gender is derived from the French word "gendre". The "Gen" part of that comes from the word "genus" meaning birth or origin. "Dre" means "class or category". The word gender can be literally translated to "birth category". It never referred to [until the 1970's] the societal roles or expectations associated with gender. It referred to what they would class you as at birth based on sexual characteristics. That's why the two words were used as synonyms for rou…

It's bizarre that this is your take from his post, but ok. No one is "keeping women in their place". I'm not sure where you got this from. You don't know why a man might want to challenge the idea that their attention is so threatening to women? Men's entire chance at social acceptance, procreation, and having a family depends on women and their perception of men who are their age. So men like OP have a vested interest to not be a social pariah for simply interacting with women. That's his hope.…

We can actually trace the roots of the conflating of gender roles and gender to French academia in the 1970's. This idea that gender =/= sex is simply a semantic game they came up with to push their ideas, and now it's taken over the minds of younger people all across the world 50 years later. It's really fascinating how that has worked.

People who witness a crime don't need evidence to know it happened. They are the evidence. And again, "no evidence" was exactly what Blasey-Ford had except she got a day in the highest court in the land to spew her bullshit. You're literally complaining about something that women have been whinning about for the past two decades, "believe all women." Do you really lack the self-awareness to see that?

I don't need evidence, sweetheart. I've seen the phenomenon myself. Who the fuck records intimate and vulnerable moments like this? You're crazy to think that's realistic. Your hatred of men simply wants you to believe all men are lying about this very real thing that happens. I never believed Smollett, but I also didn't believe Christine Blasey Ford. The word female comes from the Latin femella, the diminutive form of femina, meaning "woman". Judging what "you should do to a group" is literally one of the most vile things you could do, and this post gets up voted and stays up in this Reddit because it's a genocidal hypothetical aimed at men. I wonder how long a "we've mastered artifical wombs and sex dolls, now what should we do with women?" post would stay up.

I never said they won't do casual sex. I said, given the option of casual sex with easy women and a good relationship with a loyal woman, they'd choose the latter.

True, the average man has had 6 lifetime sexual partners, so yes, most men choose steady girlfriends over ONS.

Yeah, ask any man if he'd rather find a loyal girlfriend or an easy lay, and they'll take the gf every time. This idea that men simply want to pump and dump only applies to certain women.

It was more of a war than a genocide if you are able to look at history objectively. The tribes did plenty of killing and massacring of their own. The settlers just came out on top after 400 years of conflict.

The actual percentage is 8%. There was a study showing that 8% of fathers were unknowingly raising other kids earlier in the thread. Not exactly a coin flip, but also not a percentage you would want to risk 18 years of your life and most likely your chance to raise your own kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 12:31 PM

And some people are attracted to that dynamic. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's definitely a form of attraction that people engage in and act upon.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 05:02 PM

You have to define "nice". This word has many connotations. It can mean weak or a pushover (generally unattractive). It can mean generous and empathetic (generally attractive). Additionally, not everything is black and white. I've found that some women are actually attracted to pushovers. They like being in control and walking all over their BF's. It's kind of sad to see it in person. If you want to seek out those women, go for it. More power to you. Personally, I'm glad that I live in a world w…

Men are still going out to bars more often than women. Some clubs even keep men out and let women in because there's too many men vs. women. I don't think you can really reduce this issue down to men not going out. They do, it's just become less rewarding to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/23 03:34 PM

I don't think so. A presence is simply being in a place. Notice they didn't say, "[this action] made me uncomfortable". They simply say him being in a space made them uncomfortable. It's hard going through life knowing that people will ostracize you for simply existing or having a face.

Focus on the real dangers, which is women's choice on men. That's the crux of women's attraction that people don't seem to understand. They want men who can potentially be dangerous if they need protection. Sometimes, that dangerous side of men can be turned on them.

Women truly don't have the capacity to empathize on this topic. They are never confronted with the possibility of unknowingly raising a kid that isn't theirs. If a husband cheats, another woman is pregnant, and the other woman starts a new family. If the wife cheats, the man who was cheated on is still responsible for taking care of the kid that is not theirs. When women desperately want kids of their own, they are applauded and revered for following their biological imperative. When men want to…

The word "objectification" simply holds no meaning anymore. It's been misused by feminists for so long that it's now a buzzword used to shame male sexuality in any form. The irony is that most women who try to use the term have plastic male genitalia sitting in their bedroom.

Note that this post only applies to men with a physical attractiveness at a 5/10 You start a long post with a fallacy right off the bat. The average man isn't rated a 5/10 by women. If you want to address the "average man" in a post, you have to speak to the real average. You have to address the reality that most women find the "average man" physically unattractive.

I think you missed the point. It doesn't really apply to insults across genders. If you wanted to make a better analogy, men's first insult to each other is camping each other cowards (pussy, bitch, etc.). Even with this data here, your initial statement that "virtually all Korean women" have plastic surgery is false, like I said before. Maybe you don't know this, but beauty pageants are not good indications of what straight men find attractive. They are largely judged and run by women and gay men. Number one, 25% of women in Korea have plastic surgery, not all. Number two, Korean women and women in general are beautiful despite all the wacky stuff they choose to do with their lips, eyes, nose, etc. not because of them. Good point, maybe in terms of relationships, it's helpful. It's always good to see the other side, and sometimes, your partner is unwilling to say things other women might tell you. They don't like obvious (badly done) surgery. They like the "natural" looks that people get surgery to have. Trust me, men can tell. We're biologically wired to notice youth and beauty, and when something is off, we can tell. It's very hard, almost impossible, to replicate nature. Let's do a thought experiment here. If all women magically got together and collectively stopped wearing makeup and getting surgeries, do you think men would want to be with women any less? You'd still have an overwhel…

And these expectations are set by men As far as plastic surgery, I've never met a man who likes what it looks like. Fake butt, fake boobs, lip injections are all for women and their insecurity. They simply don't look good to men, and it's a major turnoff if I see it on women. I don't think you can blame me on this one. Even makeup is a woman's standard if you think about it. You can say women and men are different until you're blue in the face, but that doesn't change the fact that we both deserve equal human rights. I'm comparing the measures society has taken to equalize biological differences with laws (equal pay act and title XI) to your unwillingness to do so with this inequality.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 11:59 AM

It’s neither the same in process nor the same in outcome or even consequences. It's precisely the same outcome. Abortion leads to no burden of an unwanted child, so would a paper abortion for men. I find it funny that women fight so hard for this human right, only to diminish it once it is applied to men. You wouldn't claim that women getting an abortion are simply shirking responsibility. They are taking control of their lives by deciding if they want a child after conception. Men should have t…

We have to accept that due to sexual dichotomy we cant equalise absolutely everything here I'm sorry, but that's gone out of the window. You wouldn't use this argument for the pay gap or title XI. I'm not sure why all of the sudden we're comfortable using it now. We need to treat each other with equity in this society, regardless of biology. Women fought long and hard for abortion rights because it liberated them from the potential unwanted burden of having an unplanned child. Men need that same…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 11:53 AM

His point is, that he wants men to have no responsibility at all. He wants to have the same responsibility that women have, which is the opportunity to abort post conception. That's not no responsibility. That's basic reproductive rights, which most women agree is a basic human right.

because more women are on antidepressants doesn’t mean that the reason they’re on antidepressants is because they don’t have a man in their life. Men get called potential rapists and the boogeyman of the all-oppressive patriarchy all day in this sub and everywhere else on Reddit, and you think acknowledging this well-known fact is dehumanizing?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/23 01:00 PM

Not to mention that dating age women are twice as likely to be on anti-depressants than men. I know women in here like to portray that women are doing great and men are desperately seeking them out, but maybe they should go check some data before spiking the football. The percentages you mentioned and the mental health data from the past two decades paints a completely different picture of how poorly women are coping with the modern dating environment. link

Things like this are rarely perfectly linear. We're still double the rates of when they started collecting this data. Again, I'm not overly alarmed yet, but if it doubled in another 15 years, I wouldn't mind calling this an epidemic.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 06:44 PM
4

The trend is what is troubling more than a hard percentage. Despite what people on this sub think, sex and reproduction are pretty essential to human existence.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 05:00 PM

No, the equivalent would be a man doing something sexual for the woman, like giving her oral or playing out a fantasy of hers. We need to stop equating men spending money on women to women having sex with men. That is essentially prostitution. My point was that a woman shouldn't just wait around or expect their man to buy things for them that they want. They also shouldn't get jealous of other husbands buying shit for other women. That money exchange has nothing with your relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 01:36 PM

Why are you assuming that, if the couple is going, that the men has to pay? I'm saying if the woman is jealous of another woman getting a hotel room with their husband, she should go out and get it for her and her husband. You don't need your husband to cosign on a hotel room for you both.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 12:55 PM

My point is you don't need two people to buy a hotel room. That's not something only a man can buy in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 12:49 PM
9

I think even this article acknowledges that the trend shouldn't be judged by one year with new survey methods and only 226 participants. The overall trend is still heading towards more sexlessness. I wouldn't call it an epidemic yet like OP, but it's still troubling.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 12:34 PM
2

That survey they are talking about defines sexless as no having sex within the past year. I agree with you. They need to use a metric for being sexually active, not just once in a year.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 12:18 PM

Thanks for asking. Because you being a woman with engrained gender roles is the only reason you have this crazy expectation of your partner to play Santa Claus for you. If you're too lazy and incompetent to work for your own money, don't expect nice things.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 11:19 PM

What? Do you need a man to cosign for it or something? This isn't the 50's.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 11:15 PM

Do you here yourself? You’re saying because of feminism a boyfriend/husband can’t gift his wife something? Holy fuck and you all wonder why women don’t want y’all. Jeez, didn't mean to trigger your inner femcel. Where did I say you can't get your partner something? I said it's wrong to expect your partner to buy you things you want and can afford. That's seriously the mentality of a child. Be a big girl and buy yourself things you want. And yes, if my wife didn't want to cook or clean, I wouldn'…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 11:00 PM

Sure a woman could buy herself a hotel just like a male can jerk himself off. Come on, you can't be serious. A shared sexual experience with someone you love is in no way comparable to masturbating by yourself. Be real and stop trolling. If males saw a woman who makes the same amount of money as his wife buy her husband the golf clubs he always wanted for his birthday but when they ask their wife for a $50 gift on their birthday she freaks out saying “that’s too much money”, they would feel some…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 10:30 PM

I think the difference between those two examples is that the woman could easily buy herself a hotel experience, whereas the sexual activities are a shared experience that you need the other person to have. I get the jealousy of the second situation, but not the first one. I don't get being jealous of something you could easily buy yourself like that. When I see someone eating some food I like, I don't think, "Wow, I wish their was someone here to buy it for me." I think, "Wow, that looks good, …

So, the adulting part is not the bar. That is my whole point. I'm not saying that regular people people can't find people they are attracted to. I'm saying that a person isn't going to date someone simply because they take showers. Many will still date someone who doesn't take regular showers if they are attracted to them enough. You see this all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 12:54 PM
7

I never said the "top 5 percent" are only in relationships. Don't put words in my mouth. My point is that the bar is not "simply taking a shower". It's the attraction part. And that bar has gone up in recent years for men. That was OP's question. Would you be in a relationship with someone you are not attracted to simply if they took showers?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 12:36 PM
10

Your friends have that same requirement, though. They aren't simply looking for a schmuck off the street who is adulting. They are first trying to find someone who they are attracted to and hoping they are adulting in the meantime. So the bar there isn't adulting. It's the attraction part. And that in recent years has gotten higher for men with the prevalence of social media and dating apps.

From the sound of it, it would be enough to not be a dick, clean your place and shower to be better than most men and succeed with women. Those things you listed are a bare minimum in terms of being an adult in a relationship, but in no way does that guarantee being in a relationship with a woman. What's left off this bare minimum list is the fact that men have to initiate, men have to pay for dates, men generally have to put in way more effort early in a relationship, and oh by the way, you'll …

Hourly basis? Those are rookie numbers there, bud. But seriously, I think a person who is going out and going through all the effort to get laid with a different chick every other week is way more horny than someone who simply has the urge to masturbate +10 times or so in a day. Maybe if you actually masturbate +10 times a day, but not simply having the urge.

why on Earth would we criticize the mother when she is the one who stepped up and took on the role of parenting Not saying I agree completely with OP, but society tends to do this in Western countries because women have complete control over the decision to bring life into the world. The reality is there would be many men who would talk to the top women. Most men would talk to the average women. There would be some women who don't get approached and also men who don't talk to any women at all as well. What you're missing is that there would be a tiny, tiny fraction of the women who would approach any of those men. Most of the women in the room wouldn't approach any guys at all. I mean, I was simply pointing out the "80/20" wasn't from a 2015 survey of 27 men as claimed by that trash article, but I guess I'll bite and go into this data from 2009. So basically, guys are fighting each other 2-for-1 for the absolute best-rated females, while plenty of potentially charming, even cute, girls go unwritten If 80% of users are men (4 to 1), wouldn't that mean that men would inevitably have to fight for attractive women on the apps? This article falsely claims that the source of "80/20" is from an article from 2015. This idea actually dates back to 2009 when okcupid released their aggregated data. This is not from a survey of "27 guys" as claimed. I have no idea where they even found that because it's not in any of their links listed. Here's the okcupid trends blog posted back in 2009 outlining it if you're interested. The data is actually from aggregated data from their app, not a survey of 27 men. As you can see from the …

I know you think you're standing up for women here, but you're essentially treating them like children. They can stand up for themselves just like the rest of us. They don't need a segregated carriage to take them places. This is just ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:31 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:25 PM

The fact that you think women deserve to be free from harassment while men aren't is the privilege they are talking about. Yes, one is a public space that everyone should have a right to use. One is a workplace that is essentially a private space that you have to be invited into. It's strange that we're ok with the former being segregated, and we over legislate and impose "equality" on the latter.

Vowing to love and care for someone publicly in front of all of your loved ones is a huge demonstration of commitment and one that alot of people want. Plus to be a family together. Not really, the social stigma is entirely gone, I would say. You don't need marriage to be a family either. That's simply a contract between partners. It has nothing to do with family structure. You can love someone without being married to them. The commitment part is a fallacy, considering 50% of them end and they can be broken at any time. A gym membership is more of a commitment nowadays. If someone truly loves you, they shouldn't need a legal contract to support you.

I think the opposite is happening, actually. There are certainly a lot of women complaining online that they can't secure relationships with men. Younger women are almost twice as likely to be in relationships (or say they are at least) than younger men. It seems like the casual sex market is filling the sexual needs of young men, and they simply don't need relationships from women anymore.

Men gain financially from marriage while women lose I know what study you are referring to, and you are wildly misrepresenting the findings. That portion of the study only looked at household income, not settlements or rulings of the divorces. Married men are happier and live longer. Those other things you said were incorrect, but this one is the most incorrect. That study had been torn to shreds for everything from selection bias, mischaracterizing divorced men as never married, and many other things. Marriage does not increase the life span, nor the happiness of men. There's no correlation there.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 11:14 PM
33

There's also a massive amount of selection bias in the men's side of that study. They said they were happier in relationships, but they didn't account for the fact that happy men are more likely to get into relationships in the first place. This study doesn't show that men are happier after they get into relationships as they claimed. It shows that happy men are more likely to be in them.

I'm still waiting for one of your sources or actually just anything that is remotely coherent at all coming from your side.

Women aren't largely excluded from power, though. Voting is power in our society, and, even then, women still hold office and work on government. Even by your own definition, it fails to pass that. This reminds me of that Eric Andre meme where he shoots Hannibal Buress and then turns to the camera and says, "Who shot Hannibal?". Like, you guys have power now. Why do you fantasize and fetishize the idea that you don't? It seems like you guys don't actually want the power you have, and you like th…

Did you read anything I wrote? I literally linked a quote from the study itself, and then you ask for sources, lol (while you provide none yourself). Even the study that is often quoted here acknowledges that it did not look at anything but household income. What do you expect? The woman to magically just start making as much money than the husband they picked because they make more than them? Do you have any idea how this works at all? Household income isn't a part of divorce settlements. A jud…

Wrong, voters are leaders in a democracy. Our government officials are public servants who are there to uphold the will of the voters. You can't keep endlessly playing the victim when you, in fact, have the power in our society. It's getting pathetic.

Less than 10% of divorces end in alimony and women are less better off financially after divorce. I see these stats parroted over and over again in this sub and they are bullshit cherry-picked stats. Ask any divorce lawyer, and they will shred these to bits in 30 seconds. First off, 10% of divorces end up with alimony decided BY THE COURT. Most divorces go to settlements before that because men know courts fuck them over and they just try to get it over with before they are paying $100k for both…

It's hard to get past your bigotry, but no, the world wasn't made by men for the benefit of men. That world wouldn't include 90% of inmates being men. That's the same for women, though. An attractive woman doesn't just become an old witch at 30, but it's objectively worse than the same woman in their early twenties. A man who is 30 doesn't automatically become Brad Pitt, but he's definitely more dateable than he was as a broke 22 year old just out of college. The wall is simply an observation of the fact that women do, in fact, age and become less attractive as time goes on. That is hard to swallow for women who are used to getting attention t…

Exactly this. It isn't to say that once you hit 30, you automatically start getting women. It's that men are judged on different things, and those things take time to acquire. A man in their 30's is much more likely to have those things, but the 30 year olds who don't won't have any better luck. It's not the age of 30 that women are attracted to. This is the problem with mental illnesses whose diagnosis relies on subjective observation. You can't run an objective test to figure out if someone is on the spectrum. Also, a lot of what is considered 'stylish' for women is just unattractive in my opinion. I actually just see women out and about in yoga pants or sweatpants. Maybe San Francisco is different, but women in the past were far better dressed than most women nowadays on a daily basis, in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/23 09:39 PM

I've noticed this, too. I think the explanation for this is the value gap at an early age. When women turn 21, they are basically their peak market value. Men haven't had time to make their value. They'll typically reach their peak later in life. The super attractive women in this age range date up and, therefore, older. The attractive men of this age can't/ don't want to do that, so they take the hottest they can get, which is the average women of their age.

I completely agree with you, but I wanted to point out one thing. The negative traits you mentioned are only negative because of the framing they use. For example, masculine violence is seen as bad, but what happens when you need to stop someone or something? What if you need to fight a war against an enemy? You need masculine violence to stop it. It's only then when they frame masculine violence as a good heroic thing. Competiveness is bad, but what kind of person wants an uncompetitive male pa…

/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/23 03:02 PM

Masculinity and femininity are relative to each other and always will be. You can't give a good definition to one without giving the other. There's also many layers to this. You could give the biological definition, which is very straightforward (hairy body, larger muscles, facial features, etc.). You could give the social or cultural aspects of masculinity, which differs from culture to culture. The "average" for women is not the "average" for men. You say you know women, but ask an average man how many times they've been approached by women in their life. That's the selection bias in talking about. Men inquire, and women say yes or no. That's how it's been for a long time now, and, in that scenario, women are indeed the selectors.

Women control this aspect of society. They are the selectors. I don't know why you're complaining about this to men. Women control their behavior in terms of dating/ sleeping around, and men react. Men aren't going around like vikings kidnapping women and taking them back on their boats as concubines. Modern dating is about courtship, not pillaging, and women control that with their behavior. Agreed, every marriage I've seen where the wife calls the husband their best friend or vice versa has ended badly. You need friends outside of marriage you can confide in. 97% of alimony is paid from men to women. Child support is about the same. The survey you are talking about was based on income levels after divorce. It did not consider income levels before marriage. Most women marry up, so it makes sense that men would have more income after the marriage because they were more than likely had better income before the marriage. So, that survey isn't a valid look at the financial impact of divorce. This overwhelming favors women.

We don't need to muddy the waters by talking Islamic marriage or obscure marriage practices from Native American tribes. We're talking about the form of marriage that civilized Europe in many ways and the type of marriages that we are all familiar with. That is what Marriage 1.0 is referring to. Marriage 2.0 doesn't exist in Islamic countries.

Happiness is a temporary emotional state. I hate the fact that most of my generation thinks the meaning of life is "to be happy". People who are happy all the time are fools or on drugs. You can't be happy all the time. There will be moments in your marriage where you won't be happy. If you suddenly become not happy, a temporary emotional state, this is not a legitimate reason to break a commitment you made and ruin your partners life.

$240 in 1970 is roughly equal to $1.9k in today's money. Most of what you said is irrelevant because you are not accounting for inflation. CoL vs. wages are almost exactly where they were in 1978. People simply saved money better and, quite frankly, worked harder. People started working at a younger age and worked longer hours. They didn't order Door Dash every other night either. Only 16 million people had cable in 1980, not everyone. Most people picked up the free antenna signal. And yes, we A…

This idea that we need to consume luxury and give our kids the same level of consumption is what I'm talking about. You basically just admitted people would rather have a Netflix subscription and endless Amazon packages more than a child. This is a cultural problem, not an economic one. We have the resources for kids. We just don't want them. So were wages. Wages versus CoL had remained pretty much the same since the 1970's. People like to be all doom and gloom about the economy, but there wasn'…

But education standards are falling, though. You can give people a shitty, expensive education and call them educated, but that doesn't mean they are better off for it. People are certainly getting dumber nowadays. Wealth makes people selfish. People aren't more desperate for money nowadays than they were in the past. They are desperate to spend it on themselves. This is clearly a cultural trend, not economic.

The CDC source this article references DOES look at men and finds there's no significant relationship between premarital sex and divorce in men. I never said it was a perfect linear relationship. Not sure where you got that. I said women who are promiscuous are more likely to divorce, which you have conceded is true. I wouldn't categorize women with less than 10 partners as promiscuous. I'm not sure who you are arguing with as I never said only pursue virgins.

Exactly, I presented facts. You presented an argument from authority. Let's stick to the facts. If you have facts contradicting mine, I'd be happy to hear them. or go to for the other team. Did not say everyone is inherently gay. What do mean by this? You can't just "go for the other team".
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 02:34 PM

I can easily say Mediabiasfactcheck.org is itself biased. Let's stick to debating facts rather than arguments from authority. They also aren't saying you should be yourself if they are saying you should become gay to find love. That's actually the opposite of what OP was saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 02:07 PM

If you are incapable or unwilling to learn how to love a feminine woman, then you should either date women who are more masculine than you are or realize your soulmate may not possess a vagina. Lol, are you suggesting men become gay if they can't attract a woman? You can't become gay. You are clearly born that way. That's a huge reason why the "gay is a choice" religious nuts got defeated. We have a gay friend in our group. He is very extroverted and talks to everyone. One time, he struck up a friendly conversation with a girl at a restaurant, and she just said out of nowhere in the middle of their conversation, "sorry, I'm not interested in you." You're not grasping the purpose of this experiment, in my opinion. OP's profile was pretty benign and generic. The control here is using the same exact profile across different cities. There's no variation between what he posted in the US to what he posted in Singapore. That's why he put what he did in his title. If you have xyz traits and listed what he put in his profile, you can expect similar results. He's not making claims about what attention other profiles would garner, only profiles with…

No, you can't conclude causation from experiments like this, only the effect. It's reasonable to assume that if you took a similar looking guy with similar education and background, you'd get similar results. You can't say if you changed xyz variables about a person, it would increase or decrease the amount of matches, though.

No one claimed they did. Are you claiming you know why they are swiping? One thing we do know is that more women swiped right more in one location than the other. There's more OLD prospects there for OP's description than the other. It's pretty conclusive in those terms. If you believe dating is a numbers game, that would lead you to believe that dating would be better there.

Sure, if you are not the things listed in OP's title, then this won't apply to you. But that's why he listed this in this title... For those it does pertain to, though, this is a pretty good experiment, and I've noticed this trend in my life traveling as well.

I think it's a pretty valid experiment. The control was a pretty standard dating profile tested in different dating markets, which is your experiment variable. I assume you're not advising men to move countries simply to get more matches on dating apps Why not? If you are receiving six matches out of 1000 swipes in a city like LA, why wouldn't that be taken as a rejection from the women of LA? Do you expect him to just wallow and never attempt to meet someone elsewhere?

What OP isn't realizing is that women used to not work, which had an effect on the labor market. There was roughly half the supply of labor, so companies had to pay enough to attract a man trying to support a family. Women fought for the right to enter the workforce, which is awesome for society but not so much for wages. Over time, this greatly expanded the workforce and allowed companies to pay less and less. I'm confused. Everything you linked shows a massive increase in sexlessness amongst younger people. You are pointing to a small decrease in recent years for men only, but meanwhile, the sexless rate is still triple what it was 30 years ago. Are you expecting a perfectly linear trend? Because real life statistics don't work like that. Signed, a data scientist.

From the author on the original article: "We shouldn’t declare the sex recession over based on just a single year of data—especially a single year that relied on new survey methods—and a fairly small sub-sample of 229 respondents. ” Larger studies have shown that sexlessness is definitely on the rise amongst younger people. It's an alarming trend, and this very small sample you are citing is an outlier in the general trend. No one is adapting, actually.

To be fair, sexlessness is on the rise, particularly among young men. That's not really a solvable problem in itself (we are not going to force people to have sex with sexless men), but more a symptom of the bigger issue going on. They want ownership. They want an ego boost. They want sex. They want status. Projection, these are literally all things women want and seek after. Women want ownership over men's resources, women seek attention and validation constantly, women are having just as much sex as men, and women go after men with status (not the other way around as you suggested). This is just a laughably false representation of what men actually want, presented by someone who has no idea what they are talking about.

Porn wouldn't exist without women willingly entering the business. Female porn actresses and OF models make way more money than male actors. 60% of women also watch porn. Quite simply, as a man, if you want to attract women - get gud +1. That's a concept that people in this sub really can't grasp, both men and women. Men want to try and argue themselves out of that difficulty. Women deny that it is indeed a little harder to be a man in the dating world. Hetero sexual couples are in the middle, but they are ended by the woman more often than not. So I'm not su…

More likely to break their vows or marriage promises is probably the better way to put it. It doesn't mean they cheated necessarily, but it does mean they didn't faithfully fulfill the promises made at the point of marriage to stick with and fix the relationship through trying times. For example, if the woman knows of a suitor waiting for them and initiated the divorce because of that, I would consider that unfaithful. Women are far more likely to monkey branch like this as they typically have m…

As someone who graduated with a master's in a STEM field, the last point hits home and troubles me. The reason women outperform men in education nowadays has to do with the intent of our education system. I'm not even talking about the built-in biases that the education has against men that everyone is aware of. It's the actual structure and stated purpose nowadays. During the end of getting my degree, there was this huge push to change our field, not on merit, but simply because not enough wome…

The word hypercompetitive is subjective, but yes, the dating scene is an objectively competitive place. I'm not sure what you find so offensive about telling people that.

I think telling people the truth about their situation when they are looking for answers as to why something is not working is quite empathetic. Lying to people or, worse, completely dismissing people's experiences is not empathetic.

No actually, this only goes one way. Men don't like people because of their education or earning potential. Men, for example, are much more likely to date people who make less money and have less education than them. That's a superficial and hypocritical view held by women who often chastise men for having preferences in women. That's kind of the whole point of this post. It's interesting seeing women trying to rationalize this, though. You guys have really bought the big "men are the superficia…

I think you missed the whole point of the post. I'm not saying men don't have options to enter trades or dangerous jobs to make money. I was trying to explain to OP why most men do jobs they don't like to make money. She thinks doing anything other than what you're passionate about to make money precludes you from pursuing a relationship with her. That's an extremely privileged and naive position to take. She's simply trying to rationalize why she finds lawyers and doctors more attractive than b…

I never claimed men are randomly assigned jobs. Can you point to where I claimed that? What I actually said instead of the words you were trying to put in my mouth was that men don't have the luxury to risk their livelihood pursuing low paying jobs in order to having more fun at work. We take what pays us the best for our skills. Fun doesn't get to come into the calculation. It's hilarious how liberal women are about all other topics until it comes to workers' rights, especially when they involv…

This is verbatim what you wrote, and this is what I'm responding to so you can quit accusing me of not reading what you wrote. I read what you wrote and it's largely nonsense. I think you know that as well. They don’t back themselves, they are not willing to risk things for their own happiness, and they give too much power to other people opinions. I've explained to you why men can't risk homelessness or jail to pursue happiness. Jobs provide security for men the same way men provide security fo…

You don't understand a man's plight. That's your biggest problem. Try putting yourself in others' shoes before you judge what people choose to do for a living. My point with the SAHP was that the vast majority of SAHP are women. This isn't a realistic possibility for men. There isn't the possibility of a woman (or anyone for that matter) coming in and swooping us off our feet and supporting us for who we are. There's also little to no social safety net for men compared to women. We are expected …

That's an extremely privileged way to view people's occupations. Most people, especially men who don't have the option of being someone's SAHM, don't have the luxury of "doing what they love for money." They are doing it to survive and put food in their mouths. Your whole post reeks of sheltered entitlement.

Same, they picked a weird age category, too. 25 to 44 is a huge gap in life stages. A single woman at age 25 is a completely different scenario than a 35 year old and not even remotely the same situation at 44.

Are you high? Do you think you need to be born with tool-shaped appendages in order to be predisposed to do something? Do you think all doctors all have stethoscopes around their necks when they're born? And you didn't answer my question about black people? What exactly do you think black people are genetically predisposed to be? Because it sounds like you think they are born to be slaves.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 03:47 AM

there is a push to get women into trades especially where I am Exactly, they are clamoring for women, and they aren't going for these jobs. They offer great pay, but women prefer less demanding jobs, and then to complain they aren't paid as much. My point is that women aren't being kept out of these jobs. Women aren't choosing them. Again, that's on them, not society. Nurses are paid well. They are in demand and not underpaid whatsoever. They can make up to 100k where I live, and for a non-scala…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 12:14 AM

That's horseshit. They aren't simply arguing for a living wage. No one's trying to get women into plumbing or electrician work so they can meet ends meet. They are arguing for being paid more for doing less risky, less essential, less in-demand jobs. That's the whole fallacy of the wage gap. Women aren't actually working as hard as men of you look at hours worked and the risks men are taking to make money. If you get a degree and can't get a job after, that's on you. It's because your skills are…

What are you saying here? Are you saying black people are genetically predisposed to be slaves? Because they aren't... Women and men, however, are inclined to grow different parts because, you know, biology. I'm not sure if you are aware. This isn't the gotcha you think it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/23 09:14 PM

There's a whole sect of academia that believes this from a woman's perspective. If a woman is not making enough money (i.e. some individual is not giving them enough money for their work in their eyes) it must be a societal problem, not the individuals involved. Feminists don't believe in personal agency or responsibility for woman in that case, why should they for men in this case? If the majority of men in society aren't happy with their sex lives, how is this not a societal problem just like …

And you have to give credit to the men hiding behind a fake woman's profile. That's probably a good majority of them here, honestly.

It's not really about hiding it or being displeased with being with you. I think everyone is uncomfortable with the idea of settling, but that's what we all have to do at some point in reality. You can't just hold out forever, hoping you score an absolutely perfect 10 who makes 10 figures a year. Life isn't some Disney love story. You have to find someone on your level, hope they like you back the same way, and then hope someone better doesn't come along that they like more. That's the ugly trut…

I'm not going to lie to you, most men settle with the people they are having sex with. They have sex with who they can, not with who they really want. Every man who has had sex with you or most average people has had the thought "yeah, I guess you'll do".
