I probably expressed it poorly. He always talks about internal observation in relationship with the world. In other words, you cannot know yourself in isolation as you pointed out, because we are in constant contact with the world and others. Definetly check him out, I think you would enjoy it. A few years back I used to struggle a lot with the noisy club context and couldn't even enjoy dancing with my friends. This read (and your other posts) really have a strong JK Krishnamurti's teachings vibe. When you feel centered and conected with the present moment you are irresistible to others, you listen to them attentively and are aware of their body language, little expresions, good jokes, signs of attractions, mistakes, etc. You can even be completely vulnerable and not even notice it, fully calibrated and fully congruent. Imperfect and hence attractive.
