Regardless I’ll be making monthly payments to my attorneys and/or stbx hopefully they can get back the time I would’ve lost if I just settled at losing 2 extra nights a month until they turned a certain age. Gotta try to make it right since our kids can’t spend everyday with us at least I tried to give them half.

We both don’t have money barely enough for lawyers. but I’m not going to give up knowing I could’ve gotten as much time with our kids even though we couldn’t stay together anymore. Thank you for the all the advice just hope the judge sees the hard facts and “in my point of view.”

Since we have to (order by the judge) I think half a day is long enough to determine if she will agree to two extra days a month. But didn’t know if the mediator would add his opinion if we can’t agree to joint parent time. Based on her refusal to provide enough proof to not allow it.

My proposal is for the best interest for our kids. so even when they grow up we both knew we had equal opportunity of taking care of them even though we cant live with each other. We both make the same amount of income so she would lose the child support money. I wouldnt have to give her so much but instead I would give it back to our kids on my time.

Well I have to reasonably 50/50 proposal where I would get my extra two days( every other Monday or Tuesday or Thursday) but my stbx wont agree to any 50/50 parent time schedule because she would lose primary and child support and said she would do anything to prevent it.

How many mediations do we have to sit through if I only have one proposal she won’t agree too.

I do have a lawyer.but judges here are too up and Down on parent time. Even at mediation I dont believe we will get her to accept joint parent time. And I don’t know what good it’ll do if the mediator can’t convince us(her) that 50/50 joint parent time is best for our kids.

I can only really show how present I am and how flexible my work schedule is to accommodate for when things pop up like when they get sick or don’t have school. But technically I have to work every Saturday unless I ask off in advance. But anything that pops up during the week I can easily be there for our kids unlike my stbx.

That’s what I was thinking I even take our kids to extracurricular activities public events on days she supposed to take them. Her excuse is she’s too busy or work won’t allow me to take them.

What kind of advice did your lawyer give when you proposed 50/50 parent time. The other reason why stbx doesnt want it is because she’ll lose benefits like child support and assistant living( having primary custody) is required.

No history of abuse, drugs and we live 10 minutes away from each other. Ive always attended every extracurricular activity school events public events. don’t understand how we can’t have joint parent time besides my stbx telling her lawyer it wouldn’t be “in the best interest of the kids” for us to have joint parent time.

Will mediation be worth it if stbx has repeatedly told me she isn’t accepting 50/50 joint parent time? Right now we are only two overnight stays away(a month)to have joint parent time based on our temporary parent time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
