Please note: This isn’t advice of any kind, just me explaining what I did last year and what I thought about doing again. I’m not recommending this to anyone. Last year was my first xmas on my own. I do get to spend time with my daughter a couple of days before xmas, we do our own xmas eve, presents, all of that, but the actual day itself hits hard. I’m not usually someone who drinks or uses anything, but I ended up making an exception. I had saved some things up over the year, and xmas morning …

I really needed this comment today. Thank you, bro 👍

My wife had an affair with her boss and got pregnant with his kid. Blew up our family and impacted the kids without showing a single shred of remorse. I think I'm allowed to hate her for this.

Fair enough. Still, this doesn't fall onto you. Be sad behind closed doors if you like, but ultimately: not your monkey.

Yeah, someone to support her other than you.

What is a "WF"? Also, sorry to hear you have to navigate this now but try to keep a cool head, don't show any emotions, even if it appears cold. She's not your girl anymore.

Sounds like you got out of bed this morning to go to church, no? Not to be pedantic, but give yourself some grace. If your body's telling you that you need some rest, stay i bed for the rest of the day. Nothing wrong with that. I'm over a year removed from d-day and i can tell you i still have a bad day now and again. But usually the next day I'm making some progress; not always, but that's okay too. Be patient with yourself, bro 🙏

Ah, i remember your post from the other day. We share a very similar timeline: fully supported our partners yet completely blindsided, not even a prior conversation to talk about what was wrong - albeit, i was cheated on (with her boss, lol... shock!) but didn't know until after the fact. Anyway, it just sounds like we married the same skank. But keep on doing you, and being their for that kid. That's the most important thing no matter what.

Hell yeah, brother. Last night I had my two girls over for a sleepover. My younger daughter is 6yo, and her big sister (who is equally also my daughter, but not biological) and will always be the first little girl I ever had, is now 12yo. It was just the 3 of us, and we had the most amazing time. A little movie night, staying up way past bedtime, and me getting bossed around, but I would'nt swap it for the world. Even though we're separated and don't get to see them every day, moments like this …

It was always happening, that’s why she did what she did. Mine was the same. Sleeping with her boss. In fact, just gave birth to his kid - only just over a year since we separated - figure that timeline out. We both married the worst kind of women; skanks. You know what she is now, do not consider her anything more. They belong to the streets now. Im sorry this is happening to you. I understand the pain you're dealing with, truly. And I hate saying this because I hated hearing it, but it's true;…

No. She's literally a cheating little skank. No excuses.

Just wanted to say, yep - same here! I know. She doesn't know that I know. Maybe I'll tell her once the divorce is final - pretending to be amicable up until that point. Also, the more time I spend on this sub, the more I realise that we were all unfortunate to end up marrying a skank.

Not much to offer in the way of advice about reaching back out to this chick, but I just wanna say: you’re the man! well done, brother :)

That's so odd, I was actually singing that same song in my head this morning (and for no apparent reason; well, other than the fact my stbxw had an affair with the CEO of the company where she once worked!). I haven't even heard the song play in years either. That's just funny to me! Glad you having a good day, Brother 💪

the hopeless romantic deep within the icy spiked barriers of my heart would love to live again instead of just survive You poetic mf'r you, haha! Allow me to answer in kind: I’m grateful for the space to voice the winter of my discontent with one who knows my story, who’s tasted suffering as I have and who, like me, holds the power to grow beyond the shadow of any single woman. Nah, but for real. I don't even care about validation - I'm lucky enough to have a little girl (albeit having effective…

Hey, right there with you, man! I just got lucky this time I guess, and honestly I’ve seen this chick two more times since then, but I couldn’t care less about anything serious coming from it. If it happens, it happens. Like you, I’ve learned a lot of lessons, and I have no desire to repeat the same mistakes - even if by “mistake” really it just means “trusting,” like we both once did, when we didn’t think twice about giving our all because we were acting from a place of genuine love. And you kn…

And you too, my dude. Ngl, as good as this sub has been for me this past year, truly, but as you mentioned, but i've had to 'hide' many a post from my feed cos sometimes that shit just hit a lil too hard at times. Now, it's all just a bit more reflective for me. Good days are (slowly but surely) def outweighing the bad days; and that's honestly not somewhere i ever thought i would, or even could ever be - even as far back as just 2 month's ago. Equally, every one of us can only ever be a lil bit…

Ya, Soon is for me too, bro. Honestly, im not sure how it’ll feel when that day officially closes (obviously it already has, ha), but yeah. Anyway fuck it all, my man. You was a strong dude once, and you will be again. Pain is only ever temporary, right :)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Divorce_Men/s/tUaOP3NlSN Ha, i actually remember your post from a lil while back! And we’re even the same age :) I didn’t comment at the time, but it was rly reflective of what I was feeling as well - social anxiety etc etc, and not feeling like the same confident guy I knew / know, that I actually am. Yet here we are, not so long after that post you made, and I don’t even know why or what happened, but something just switched for me. I can’t explain it properly, tbh. Ma…

This is going to sound kind of dark, and especially lewd toward the end, and I’m sorry, but it’s the truth. I’m just over a year out from D-Day, and believe me, as I’m sure many of you know, it’s been pure hell at times. At the same time, I’ve been learning how to be a single dad, and a good one at that, all while breaking down emotionally. I had to start from scratch: a new small apartment, depression, and honestly, for a while I was drinking and taking benzos whenever I didn’t have my daughter…

I had a couple beers about 6 months post-separation and ended up throwing my wedding ring off my balcony, somewhere into the bushes - and honestly, it can stay there. That ring once meant everything to me. I wore it with pride, as a devoted husband and loving dad. To me, it symbolised the vows I made; promises of loyalty, love, and commitment. But the truth is, those vows only meant something if they were shared. I never imagined I was marrying someone capable of betrayal and deceit. It’s gut-wr…

just be yourself, make her laugh (that's the trick 100% of the time btw), and most importantly do not bring up your past relationship - unless she asks, even then don't go deep with it yet. you got this bro 💪

Same boat; separate accounts, no shared assets, etc. The only difference is my STBXW had an affair with her boss (and baby-trapped him). I'm not even sure if I should be the one filing, or just let her handle the paperwork, and any associated costs out of spite. I didn’t want this, and I definitely didn’t want to find out about the affair after the separation. Just posting here in hopes of getting some advice from someone in a similar situation. Best of luck, brother.

exact same story, funny isn't it, always a co-worker huh. i remained 'friends' with her, like you, and for the same reasons but unfollowed her so j wouldn't see any of her skanky little posts with AP (and the baby soon to be born from her infidelity that's due any time now). anyway, i recently deactivated my fb account. honestly, it does no good imo (outside of birthday reminders). good luck brother, and stay strong 💪

my man just hit me with that real talk ha; but you're 100% correct, and yet here we all are, suffering the same silence. life's unfair i guess but we just gotta keep going, right. no other choice. kids or not. ty bro, appreciate your replies today :)

so we're estranged: typical story, thought everything was fine until being blindsided one night (D-DAY i believe it's referred to here) and tried and did give her everything she wanted, moved out ASAP, thinking we'd surely reconcile given how our relationship was (no abuse, rarely even argued), but fast forward a few month's (and i regret digging but i would’ve only found out sooner or later) as she was having an affair with her boss (go figure) but now heavily pregnant with his child. all withi…

think you're taking that a bit out of context. he's providing a general template for a message response that we can use, or paraphrase. nothing more than that.
