I think there's a HUGE difference between a guy who gets sex occasionally and never feels fulfilled but keeps chasing that 'high', and a guy who doesn't even know how to begin to get sexual attention from women. Sure, but you turn down those people. I'm not saying you would/should accept all job offers. But it increases your chances of eventually finding a satisfying position. It can help give you experience, build abundance mentality, learn what jobs/types of guys you want to focus on instead of just being so fucking happy someone actually finally acknowledged just one of your dozens of applications, at which point you're still just a candidate having to prove yourself.

How would this hold up if instead of "dancing monkey" behaviors, it was housekeeping behaviors for women? 'Honey, no one expects you to be a domestic machine, but there is more to attraction than just looking good. No one says you have to have them, but good luck without.' Growing up I was taught that having those expectations as a guy was sexist, even though you could frame it as just men's preferences.

That's not a fair comparison. No one is saying movies/media cause people to love other people more than they would otherwise. It just gives people wrong ideas about love. Just as violent media and games can make some people desensitized to the realities of war and violence, but not necessarily more violent.

I wonder if this has to do with the ability of each gender to perceive attractiveness in their own gender. Sure, some of the guys I could tell were "hot", but for each one there were a dozen men who didn't seem either particularly good or bad looking who were regularly in relationships. So it was easy to feel like there was a second path, another way to be valued.
