I agree with this, make it known that you are interested in finding a partner.

Something that helped me a lot was slowly cutting back on the amount of make up I wore. As another poster mentioned, working on skincare made me more comfortable cutting out foundation and concealer. Then, simplify your eye make up, ditch the contour, etc. I’ll still do a full face when I want to look glamorous, but most days I just do mascara, eyebrows, and a natural-ish lip color.

I see a lot of people recommending coconut oil. If it works for you, then that is fantastic, but it is very comedogenic (pore clogging) so I would exercise caution when applying it to your face. I personally love rose hip seed oil, a little goes a very long way, and it gives me a beautiful glow. I haven’t tried grape seed oil but I have heard great things about it, too. Vaseline is a wonderful occlusive, meaning it’s traps in moisture. I put it on my lips after using a lip conditioner, the same …

Would also recommend wrap dresses. They are flattering on every body type

Yes! Came here to recommend eShakti! If you fit nicely into standard sizes then just order those, but there is nothing better than trying a new dress on and it fitting like a glove. I also love all of the customization. Love a dress but wish it had a different neckline? Want a tea length gown instead of an ankle length one? eShakti has you covered!

(Sorry for formatting) I really hate to say this, but things rarely get better. They can sometimes improve with communication, but in your situation it sounds to me like it’s only a temporary fix. He has his own issues and insecurities that he is projecting on you. Men deserve to feel loved and respected, but they must also earn it. It isn’t our job to fix them, especially when his insecurities manifest into verbal abuse. I saw you mention in another comment that when you discuss breaking up he …

For books that discuss mindfulness, my absolute favorite is “The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down” by Haemin Sunim

I also disagree. My partner and I were long distance for nearly a year. I worked full time and he worked FT and was taking classes, so we were both very busy. However, he’d call me every night on his way home from work or class so we could catch up, and we’d text throughout the day. If a guy wants to talk to you, he will make time to talk to you, no matter how busy his schedule is. I’m sorry, but it sounds to me like he clearly does not want to take time out of his day/week to talk to you.

I am so sorry OP, this situation is always difficult. As women, we want to nurture, and uplift, and make those around us feel loved. But it is not your job to fix him. Especially not at the expense of your own happiness. You will find a man who knows how lucky he is to have you, instead of one that takes you for granted.

I agree! I can’t handle when men speak to/about women that way. If he doesn’t respect women, not just me but ANY woman, then I want nothing to do with him. Similarly, barring extenuating circumstances, a man that has a bad relationship with his mom or his sister is a major red flag.

As far as looks go, my standards for hook ups versus partnership are the same. If someone is attractive enough for me to want to hook up with them, then they are attractive enough for me to want to date. For me, it’s the mental/emotional qualities in a man that set those categories apart.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
