Man, I do feel sorry for you. Maybe see her in person in a non-confrontational way? Maybe she's anxious and overthinking it? If she still seems to deviate just say it was nice meeting you and wish her well... and not dwell on it. Man I know that feeling it happened to me recently after meeting a woman for Boba and setting up our next time to hang out to go bowling, she had agreed but then told me she's too busy with work and told me details or work projects... I agree, it took me way too long of a time to realize that if a girl doesn't reciprocate attention towards you, no matter how much/far in efforts you try you can't force her to have the same interest in you. I've talked to quite a few older guys and they all tell me it's more important for her to love you more. Take that for what it is and don't make the same mistake that I did of obsessing over a girls who won't do the same for you.

I've heard from 3 close female friends that at first they ignored and played coy with their current long term partners. I assume that some persistence and pressure to demonstrate interest is key; ONLY if she seems worth pursuing until proven otherwise! It's all an attention game at the end. I do agree with OP that you should meet other women. This is to observe how easily your original crush can be put on a high pedestal. To then just drop by experiencing another woman's behavior towards you.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
