In France, I'm getting my A License for about 1k, 35/40€ jump ticket + gear rent. Unless you are jumping multiple times every weekend for years, the 10/15€ you are going to pay for your gear every jump is probably going to be cheaper than buying your own gear. ​ It seems alright to me.

You know my ex very well. Taking the trash out is too much work. Being an esthetician is too hard (it sure is, just imagine giving massages for half a workday at most and sell perfume the other half. Be thankful you don't pay 6$ a gallon like we do in France. I just went on a vacation in Maryland USA for the first time in my life and I was flabbergasted by the low price of petrol and the fact that 2/3 cars are V8 or ridiculous sport cars/oversized trucks. And here I am gutting myself every time I spend ~85$ to run my 1998 90hp Renault coupe for about 300 miles.

Absolutly true ! I wasn't very much into cooking, but I've picked it up about a year ago. My mother has always insisted on teaching me, I didn't care at the time, so she was pleasantly suprised when I came home from my flat one day and told her about a couple cooking ustensils I bought. Now everything is home-cooked, no matter where I am (University or at my workplace), it fits much better in my semi-serious diet plan and that yielded good results !

I've got 3 hobbies currently. Firefighting, motorcycle riding and photography. I joined the firefighters as a volunteer in France 4 years ago, when I was 18. I have been with a professional beautician. Good thing was that she didn't buy much of all the stuff she had. Bad thing was, she had the most expensive/fantastic/incredible make-up stuff the planet can provide, and she used it on herself about a day every two or three weeks. Can't speak for the US, but the median salary is about 35k € in France. That's for professionnals. I'm a volunteer firefighter (80% of all firefighters in France are volunteers) and we're payed below minimum wage. 6.80€/H during day-time and a bit more during night-time.
