Because these two are fundamentally different movies. Marvel movies fall into same category as Jurassic Park Transformers or High budget B movies. Obsession while having this one element about magic stick that is fantastical, has every other element of the movie characters world etc try to be close to real world as possible. It is using only a single fantastical element to highlight some real world problems with some real world guys. And the people that got physically hurt didn't get hurt too much. They can do that because this is comic book movie. In superhero movies people can get away with all kinds of stuff. At no point does he feel bad or empathy or horror at the fact that human being, a friend, and supposed love is trapped in a body without autonomy. And even then instead of calling to undo wish, he still ask if he can modify it so that he can have her. Idk that fact, that bear would keep her as a person trapped in sunken place so that he can selfishly have her throughout his life I find far more evil than Jean.
