I like how in your brain somehow "body count" is #3 issue, while being a caring or nice individual or even someone with a fucking personality is #8. Why are you so fucked in the head? Get off off line dude.

Why are you such a bad faith dipshit OP?

How much of a complete fucking failure are you? Your only joy in life is just being a fucking disgusting creep?

It's a win win; if you get rejected you ruin her day (how dare this ugly autist think he has a chance with ME), she starts feeling as if she's getting uglier. If you get accepted well boo yah. How is this not misogynistic? Your first pro is ruining / creeping out women?

IF meet someone within a mile of my work on Tinder who is also in the same industry, is it because of the app or because we overlap in life position / interests?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/18 07:09 PM

Holy shit, you lot are the fucking saddest and weakest bunch. You get so outraged and so mad so easily. Sad!

Noone will see this, but here's a great irony: the restrictions on a woman's sexuality are part of the patriarchy which is a net-negative for most dudes. Most people want to have sex. If they were no social repercussions for doing so, many woman would have a great deal more sex, I think, net of other forces. The end result would probably be many more happy peple.

"black women are "objectively less attractive" than other races, he was dismissed from writing for Psychology Today, his current employer — the London School of Economics — has prohibited him from publishing in non-peer-reviewed outlets for 12 months,[4] and a group of 68 evolutionary psychologists issued an open letter titled "Kanazawa's bad science does not represent evolutionary psychology".[5] On the other hand, an international group of 23 scientists defended Kanazawa's work with another op…

Your story saddens me because it seems like while you have good reasons for believing in TRP, in reality, it probably will prevent you from growing out of some childhood memories/pain. I'm TBP partially because my parents were mutually supportive, loving and are going to certainly die together. I have a SO and we are doing our best to have a similar relationship.

The BLS lumps different occupations together for data collection purposes. So what? The article you linked is 1. 6 years old and 2. while does reference McCain/Obama, it mostly cobbles together a series of datapoints. It's not a systematic documentation. Plumbers don't make as much as social science researchers. I apologize that this fact is frustrating your worldview. Hopefully one day you will learn to acquire good facts about the world.

Your dated click-bait article produced during the election should be updated: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/construction-and-extraction/plumbers-pipefitters-and-steamfitters.htm No, plumbers don't make more than sociologists, most of which are in non-academic jobs by the way. Mostly doing macro research for large corporations or occasionally working in advertising. I know from some ASA data that the biggest hirer of PhDs in sociology have actually been various kinds of social networking related startup…

Sociologists actually do pretty well: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/life-physical-and-social-science/sociologists.htm The "learn a trade" line also underplays how inconsistent work schedules can be and the life-long health effects of physical labor. Also, we do measure "amount of education" in terms of years of education, not by profession. But, sure, whatever STEM-master race or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/14 04:37 PM

Well, it is certainly true that education =! money, and we do know that women tend not to enter the same career-focused majors as men. I would also that there's a variety of different forms of discrimination that some women face. There is for instance a gender pay gap between MBA holders. Many different reasons for this (exiting the workforce to have kids, failure to negotiate, networking opportunity differences etc) and it's not all outright sexism. That said, I think we're starting to see some…

They all need to read North and Weingast 1989. Famed (right-wing) economic historian demonstrates very convincingly that the ascent of parliamentary authority in 1688 was a huge win for the UK, ensured private property rights and laid the foundation for industrial capitalism. The idea that absolute monarchs would somehow be better for economic conditions is some crazy stupid bullshit.

Because he could actually make a convincing argument then. It's not censorship; it's taste.

No, you're missing the fucking point. It's not about me. It's about having some basic fucking human decency. /u/GayLubeOil could have made his point with any number of examples. He could have picked literally any sexual interaction that men/women interpret differently for instance. It's just a shit way to make a point. And yeah, I'm fucking offended. I'm human. A real human being is on the other side of your computer screen. It's not that I want to feel important or that I have "self-righteous a…

You clearly do not know what semantic means and you've clearly shown that you don't know what social science looks like then. The Google exists. Try that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/14 05:05 AM

No, a semantic dispute would be about definitions or the meaning of certain terms. We were discussing whether it is possible for certain words to have meaning in the first place. One's a debate about language, the other is about ontology. Your friend's dissertation is big macro theorizing on nation-state cultures, something that was of interest years ago in sociology but is now considered a bit passe. The idea that there is a coherent Japanese "unified" culture or a singular "American individual…

It depresses me that this is what people do at LRMs. Also, that's not quite what semantics means.

Just doubting the veracity of your tale. I do not believe you are describing sociology at the highest institutions as its practiced. It's a poor appeal to authority, a dubious claim as well.

Can you honestly name a single recent sociology dissertation?

Well again, I know those are words that are thrown around, but I personally don't believe that they have like an ontological reality, if that makes sense. Just asserting that "equality" or "objectivity" or whatever exists doesn't mean that in actual empirical reality it does. Think of a concept like "freedom". And perhaps this is getting too academic and philosophical, but again, I think we know that there's something like "more free" and "less free", but we might have a very hard time defining …
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/14 03:38 AM

No my point is that relative objectivity doesn't exist. any notion of objectivity is contingent on the other things I describe. I think its a prima facie absurd idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/14 03:24 AM

I don't think I am actually. Perhaps being less clear -- it's getting late for me. In order to have a scale of "more" or "less" objective, one needs to have a universal hierarchy of some sort. That hierarchy in turn has to have some sense of valuation in it in order to create a scale. This is true for the social sciences certainly I think. What would be a more "objective" understanding of some social context? Would it mean to be in some sort of PUA position where we know this code that unlocks w…

do you agree that factoring variables is still important for sociology? Sure, but a factor (I assume you mean as a component of some regression like that) is only as useful as the underlying theory, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and its place in the literature. Context matters. There's no such thing as a pure objective eye, akin to what one would find in the natural sciences. And the idea of importing those ideas into personal relationships strikes me as both 1. wrongheaded and 2. a rec…

Ha. I am actually a sociologist. Literally in grad school. A quantitative one to boot. Are you aware of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Structure_of_Scientific_Revolutions / the science wars / "the cultural turn"?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/14 11:58 PM

Right, but one can isolate variables in lab and one cannot do the same with human beings.

You are completely misunderstanding what I am saying. Absolute monarchy was used as an analogy, not a conflation. And the work I was describing is partner-to-partner interaction, not self-improvement. That Twain line on arguing with fools is coming to mind.

Perhaps I misrepresented myself. Incomprehensible in the sense that it seems completely demonstrably stupid. I can read the forum and understand the words and see the tortured logic. However, the conclusion "there is no compatible mate that I will spend a very very long period of time with b/c women are gold diggers or hypergamous or whatever" is analogous reading anti-semetic screeds or really actual racist stuff for instance (or advocates of a return to absolute monarchy.)

You guys aware of the fact that Portlandia is satire?
/r/TheRedPill04/02/14 12:44 PM

Bingo. It cuts both ways for both genders. What is involved in neediness is really a demand from the other party that is so overwhelming that it fails to make the relationship work at all -- it turns friendship into a one-sided couch session. The worst drinking buddies are ones who get whinny every time they've had a few too many. Their negativity becomes all consuming and worse, when you want to back out and just talk about anything else, then you can be blamed for being insensitive. The same p…

Sure bud. /r/TRP argot isn't exactly hard to pick out nor is it some great grand philosophy. Your response was basically to reassert your previous comment and throw in some easy one-liners. I think the /r/TRP is interesting, but can also be fundamentally misleading and I have lurked now for a few months. Articles like the one I submitted which move beyond dull alpha/beta dichotomies and avoid buzzwords like "hamster" and "SMV" or whatever would come much closer to fulfilling the purported aims o…

I think your analysis is quite flawed. I think the "RP Truth" in this article, in as much as it exists, is not that women want "asshole, dominant alphas", but that the sad-sack guys are actually not nice guys at all. They mistake the depth of their own feelings with having clear or honest feelings. It is important for any person -- including men -- to be in touch with one's self. However, the mistake is to believe that since has a bit of a deeper inner soul, that that somehow makes them differen…
