Blueprint and most of the free content RSD put out assumes you've already watched Foundations. Owen even tells people to bit torrent it.

Can it be a random cashier woman that I can attempt to ask how her day is going? She'll also have to be overweight and in her 40's at least. That's as much as I might be able do without my body convulsing and having my brain check out.

I suck at both which is why I'm unemployed and FA.

No matter what, even if I tell myself it's an experiment, my brain tells my body to act as if it's going to die if I talk to a random stranger girl and my body acts accordingly.

Was your heart racing, face going red, forehead sweating, body trembling, voice stuttering, throat/chest tightening during any of the approaches?

I used to try to do this too but it got depressing because no girl ever looked back (except for one time). I don't bother looking at others nowadays as I walk around doing my business. Note - this doesn't work for the purpose of picking up but at least my feels remain intact.

How often does this 'tell it with passion and it sounds interesting and amazing' thing work? I have a friend who talks like this when he's talking about his job, the stuff he gets up to when he goes out or whatever it is that I have no interest in and honestly it just bores me and I find it annoying that he's talking about this stuff like its the best thing ever while I want to die of boredom. I fake being interested if I have the energy otherwise I just insert one or two word remarks. Or is thi…

Yes that's right. The OP might not get panic attacks but he doesn't seem to just have everyday shyness or AA either therefore baby steps are necessary for him to make progress. If he tries to do too much at once eg hitting on an attractive girl, he's more likely to avoid the situation altogether and never get better.

Yep one day I'll probably say that to myself unless I end up paying for it.

Yes they are different. But the way OP described the way he feels about interactions with strangers clearly shows that he's extremely shy or has social anxiety. He was mistakenly using the word 'introvert'. The guy I replied to who said baby steps are bullshit also clearly doesn't understand the difference between introversion and a anxiety disorder otherwise he wouldn't have given the OP such shit advice. He's right in saying 'man up' though but to someone with anxiety manning up might mean mak…

So after I say hello, do I smile at her like this guy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMIqlIJNkRA

You're describing extreme shyness or social anxiety bordering on a phobia, not introversion. An introvert isn't necessarily shy or has anxiety. And introvert doesn't equal beta.

So someone who has Social Phobia and suffers panic attacks when put in situations where they needs to talk to strangers shouldn't take baby steps to desensitize themselves? They should 'just do it' (approach a girl that is). Would you throw someone who doesn't know how to swim into the deep end of the pool?

HA those happy/cheery 24/7 people ARE weirdos or on something. Nah I'm nothing like that. I assume I come off as passive. Anyway even venting on here sort of helped. Thanks for reading and replying. Appreciate it.

I started meditating again yesterday. I'll try to keep it up for longer than I did the first time around.

Understandable. I actually feel guilty that there are people who had really bad childhoods and still managed to get their shit together while I had a pretty good upbringing but turned out such a mess. I don't have a problem resisting alcohol. I've been pressured plenty of times but it doesn't bother me. I'm more worried about being bored, being too scared to talk to anyone, not having anything to say and not freaking out and running away. But that's beyond the scope of what my original post was …

I put all my energy into soccer and then weightlifting but injuries ruined both for me, one after the other. I'm getting back into lifting but it's only a matter of time before my back pain flares up. But I think you're right, I need to find something (else) to be passionate about. I agree about the negativity/positivity thing. After reading Psycho Cybernetics last year I realised the importance of being positive and I managed to keep it up for a while. My old's are pretty negative so I try to k…

That's the thing, I'd love to get an idea of the mindset of the guy who can be a total failure by most peoples standards but still be cool and confident. Like if someone calls him out on being a loser, how does he not let it affect him. Btw I have some friends and people do generally like me but I'm ashamed to meet new people since I have nothing going for me career wise, they'd most likely think I'm lazy when I can't explain why I don't do anything. And my interests are minimal and not very exc…

I dunno. I'm respectful towards others as long as they don't push my boundaries. When someone asks for my help, I'll help them if I can. And I've never turned to drugs because of my problems. That's about it.

I could never fake confidence like your former friend did. It shows on the outside as soon as I have to talk or 'perform'. Sweating, blushing, eyes all over the place when it's an uncomfortable topic, not having anything to say.

Well the medical intervention I'm referring to is TRT. I wouldn't be thinking of doing it if it wasn't necessary. I'm one of those people that would try anything before going to see a doctor. I've got low T so other than feeling like shit most of the time, I believe that's why I have no drive to accomplish anything. Only have a few interests which are weightlifting, soccer, cars and reading self improvement material. And I fail at all of them. I don't look like I lift, whenever I start making pr…

Maybe I'm in that spoiled faggot category. My parents moved us from a poor country, we became better off and they didn't want us to struggle like they did so they never gave me and my brother responsibilities. I mean we're just middle class economically but they didn't really make us work for anything. I guess that's part of the reason why I'm not motivated or ambitious. That's good advice. I used to go out all the time from 17 to 24 but then stopped after I gave up drinking. Needless to say my …
