Borderline Personality Disorder, not Bi Polar, very different. BPD is on the same cluster as Histrionic Personality Disorder

I think looks are fine. He’s meaning more your mindset. Acting and looking are two separate things. Ideally you will not have outdated fashion, but your frame and approach will incorporate your hard earned wisdom and knowledge. I think if you don’t take that approach, you are destined to end up with only the dumbest and most naive (or manipulative) women, rather than attaching someone of quality. One nighters? Whatever but he’s talking about making a proper connection not superficial shit (well …

This read really well. As a guy in my early thirties, slowly digesting the pill, I’m really starting to appreciate the position of power men come into (with the right skill sets) as we near 40. The best bit? People who work on themselves (and apply core TRP principals) around this age are doubly attractive than other similarly-aged counterparts. The world really is our oyster, as long as we stay grounded. I like your mention of not trying to appear younger...I caught myself doing that and it’s j…

All the fuckers from incels now lurking in here, I hope you read posts like this and understand this is a place for learning and betterment. Venting has no true purpose unless you are sharing hard earned knowledge. Thanks for the list mate, I found it very informative.

For this forum to have any actual meaning, it is vital he shares WHY. The bests posts on here are all opinions, but they are steeped in insight gained from trial, error and experience.

You are correct about missing the mark of this comment. It has very little to do with his actual situation, we know nothing about his circumstances other than the fact he got married to a human female. This user is pointing out his post is offering readers nothing of actual substance. His words are just fluff and show someone who hasn't delved into the reasons of WHY this all turned to shit. Unfortunately he offers little actual insight into a common discussion point on this sub. My take, his em…

I practised this after my marriage failed and it definitely helped with shaking unwanted thoughts. Thanks for an insightful post reminding us that as always, we have the power to feel our thoughts and emotions while not letting them have control over us. Another good way to begin mindfulness training is to just go on a walk. Just listen to the sounds of the animals/wind or be aware of your feet walking on different surfaces. Steering your focus away from shitty thoughts puts you way ahead of the…

I won't go into detail here BUT there is a school of thought that suggests Codependents have a lot in common with borderlines....Where the codependent was able to secure the attachment of a neglectful parent (thus learning being a people pleaser will secure love) and the borderline was not (forever facing abandonment be it real or imagined). Codependency is very real and will lead to the pattern of falling for fucked up and emotionally manipulative partners. A healthy relationship DOES NOT REQUI…

I'm going to politely disagree with on this one. The mere fact you can admit to having your diagnosis puts you WAY ahead of the pack. You actually have ability for personal growth too. Keep up your therapy sessions. Also bear in mind that for a lot of borderlines, dysrelugation can mellow with age. You might find simply being on this plant longer and longer will lessen your symptoms. You are right, BPD in my books is the most fucked up disorder on this planet, it's not fair to those that have it…

Nope he is mostly describing borderline personality disorder (BPD) Antisocial personality disorder (sociopaths/psychopaths) are on the same spectrum of personality disorders and they all overlap with their traits, in fact you can have people who have BPD and NPD! Sadly all three disorders come with a limited capacity for empathy and insight. These disorders seek to deny themselves. ASPD will often seek enjoyment out of making people suffer, or they are deliberate in the harm they cause and feel …

A real kicker is that BPD's make a good initial pairing with codependent types or people with low self esteem. The idolisation phase is like a drug, many people in this boat find themselves with a very seductive woman who is infatuated with them AND on paper, you both want the same things in life (mirroring) When devaluation and discard eventually happen, I've read of many men (and women) being so heartbroken they commit suicide. How do I know? I was one of those rescuer types that ignored red f…

Dude I just discovered TBP and found this post at the top. I don't know your story but if she was BPD/NPD the hooks that they dig into you can run DEEP. How do I know? 14 months separated from my Ex-BPD wife of 4 years. You might find this one takes especially long to heal from, you might be ruminating way, way more than other ex's. If recovery is slow, you might have developed something called a trauma bond. BPD's are masters at intermittent reinforcement after the love bombing idealization pha…
