In answer to the question: you'll be considered less adept in your field than your peers, you'll be paid less than men in your field and won't be as likely to get promoted, your academic journals are less likely to be published. It's not that women shouldn't go into stem, on the contrary, but being a girl in sound design and getting asked the same idiotic questions about my competence makes me wish I had chosen something outside of computer technology Tldr: not as many of us go into stem as men …

"if you wanna complain about your problems, there others subs to do that" So the rest of your comment isn't just.. complaining?

See this is the issue, self defense is ok and everyone understands that. Everyone should have the same barriers they need to cross before violence becomes appropriate. The problem is that women not being socially acceptable to hit isn't a huge problem, and the idea that men are victimized for self defense against women is just such a stretch. So with all the issues you "egalitarians" could be discussing relating to gender like oh, I dunno, women disproportionately subjected to catcalling, fetish…

I love it how when fuckboys consider the effect of sexism it's about how it's not socially acceptable to hit us, violent and scary honestly

Right so if you don't have an argument it's usually better to not comment than to act as if your understanding of what I was saying was the same as everyone else

What? That isn't nearly as much of a legal thing as the pressure of society to keep quiet, the reason women don't wanna go to the cops isn't about what the cops think if they handle it poorly they can lose their jobs. it's about the fact that it's now on public record and your friends and family may not react in a comforting way, with questions such as these. It may be easier to just avoid telling everyone in your personal life when out of school but what about survivors in college or even high …

That this makes no sense whatsoever? Some black people that are seriously hurt by the police will never be taken seriously, and as a white person I feel like it's important for me to understand that as a white person. But telling someone not to go to the cops because of that? I've never heard of something like that from a feminist or otherwise, show me someone who's said something along these lines or stop burning an effigy

Thanks for holding me to that it's in my OG comment, looks like around 17% of women are sexually assaulted in thier lifetime to 3% of men

Exactly, men are paid more harassed less taken far more seriously and easily more represented in media, and somehow far more vocal about how hard life is for you?

See that part up there about masculinity not being fragile. How do any of you honestly believe this men are so advantaged and you're still complaining all you can, like there should be an r/redditinaction for this shit EDIT: Source https://rainn.org/get-information/statistics/sexual-assault-victims

Well fuck I know I'm gonna get hate for this but hear me out, the difference is that James bond is designed by a man, some super sexy heroin? Usually also designed by a man most of the video game industry as well as the movie industry is controlled by men (I didn't have time to read the whole article, but I think it outlines my point) so whereas James Bond is an ideal man according to a man, those bond girls are ideal women ALSO according to men. And usually ideal with women (according to men) j…

So your saying wet t shirt contests and flashing on sprig break don't count as sexualization of the female body? Seriously, what kind of backwards world are you living in where men's bodies are sexualized more than women's

There are problems on both sides of the gender spectrum an saying feminism is bullshit makes just as much sence as a lady saying men's rights is bullshit. Both are derived from selfishness, not a want for equality.

you really don't get the point of men's rights, I don't think ANY of us are here to say the idea of feminism is trash.
/r/MensRights25/11/12 01:14 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
