Did you actively try to get better at socializing? Ask people for advice on how to keep a convo going, etc? Early 20s is plenty of time. You haven’t even hit your prime yet, but will soon. If he didn’t do it often and is getting poked by his gut this time around, then he is finding reasons to either validate or invalidate his intuition, which will be better for the next relationship. If he says “ok my intuition was spot on this time” then next time he may not have doubts and he can trust it and not have to do detective work. 2	I built up my fundamentals and now women sometimes try to flirt with me and usually like when I approach but I still struggle to escalate or even approach at all because I panic/freeze Still sounds like fear of rejection imo. You might be afraid of messing up and getting rejected once you are in a good spot. Once you are “winning” so to speak, there is then extra pressure to perform and close out. You probably have just not failed enough at the next checkpoints. I’d say just keep doing what you’re doing and try to take things as far as you can until you run into the girl saying no.
