To be fashionable, wear on a pair of blue jeans has to be simulated by a factory worker with a belt sander, leaving improbably large and straight wear patterns on the front of the legs and avoiding actual signs of usage like chafing at the crotch and thinness on the seat. Time to retire that pair.

"Gender" was mostly a term of linguistics until the 1970s, when feminists started pushing for its use to describe the identity aspects of sex. They were so successful at getting the term accepted that "gender" has almost replaced "sex" expect to describe a person's physical layout. But that is not correct. Sex is not a social construct, but gender is not sex. To use the term is to accept the concept.

You'll go through so many changes in early adulthood that it really isn't reasonable to expect you to know exactly what exact career will make you happy, especially while you are still in a high school environment. Choose a "reasonable" path and don't be afraid to change course when you find something that really does appeal to you. You'll be fine.

Maybe sign up for a night or weekend class at the local community college. That will give you license to hang out there "after class" as well. C.C.s often have at least three women for every two men, and the women there are, well, college girls.

PPD is one of the few places on Reddit that isn't a total echo chamber. If someone opens a subject here, they are very likely to be honestly looking for diverse opinions based on differing worldviews; what is sometimes referred to as an "open mind". That condition is nearly unheard of in most feminist and traditional-masculinity forums.

Early 30s for most guys, but if you take care of yourself and don't lose your hair it can be a lot older than that.

Bit more complicated than it seemed. But with this info the first thing I'd say is "drop the officer ambitions". If you go that route, that is all you will be doing for at least the next six years. Forget the job and the girl. And it is a long shot anyhow. Another clue I picked up from your original post is "substance free". My last assignment (in the Reserves) was as a platoon sergeant, and I saw a lot of guys get in real trouble with drugs. If you are involved at all with drugs (even weed) you…

My "take" on it is that what you are planning to do is what everyone is trying to do in the Reserves. Meanwhile what the Corps needs is a cadre of basically trained Marines to use as replacements in time of war. Getting your diploma really doesn't change that. My reserve unit had one enlisted guy get commissioned while I was in, but that is rare. There is a path towards what you want, but it involves joining ROTC in college and earning a commission as an officer, technically in the Reserves but …

Another vote for "active", from one who did both. Reserves is good if you have a serious career or college going on or for after you get out of Active Duty, but it probably isn't the way to get what you are looking for. Don't count on moving to Active Duty if you find you like it, either; it usually ain't happening. As for your questions: Keep your attention outwardly focused in boot camp. Don't get caught daydreaming. Stay aware always. Before, run a lot, swim a lot; and this is awkward, but cu…

That's what it's like for me, never married at 52. Lots of hobbies, an airline job that can be poisonous to marriages but pays well and opens up vast travel and lifestyle opportunities, no one to answer to. As best I can tell, the sex problem is no worse than it is for a married man. Infrequent duty sex with a woman who has completely let herself go, versus rare opportunities with those who have aged despite their best efforts. Nothing special, either way. I suppose if I rearranged my lifestyle …

Most men have what is known as a "refractory period": a physical limit to how much sex he is physically capable of. A teenager can get it up about as often as he wants, but you are only just barely a teenager anymore. Time to start pacing yourself. If you are getting it every day, then getting off once a day is more like it. You can fool around as much as you want, but hold back for the "grand finale'" at the end of the day. Outside of a relationship, avoid fapping and you should be able to go a…

I don't recommend trading in bonds. Savings bonds are entirely different from Treasury Bonds, even if the name is similar. http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2016/09/16/uncle-sam-pays-almost-twice-the-yield-on-treasurys-if-you-know-where-to-look/

For a young person investing during a low-inflation, low interest era, I recommend the world's safest and least interesting investment: U.S. Savings Bonds. Hold Series EE bonds to maturity (20 years) and they will pay double face value, which works out to roughly 3.5% interest. You can cash them out early in an emergency, but try not to. You lose most of the interest you would've earned. If you expect inflation instead of deflation or stagnation, go with Series I bonds instead, which pay a low i…

From my observation over the years, women of a certain age (post-menopause) are capable of great loyalty and unfathomably deep love. I have watched older women stick by their men as they slowly succumed to Alzheimer's disease, lost their virility to prostate cancer, become debilitated by strokes and otherwise lost every trace of sexual value. In fact, I've never seen one dump her husband in these conditions. The problem at this age is sex. Menopause does some unpleasant things to a woman's body …

Straight, kind, solvent single man, now 50, checking in. What's the catch? High school education and a blue-collar job. Guys like us are invisible to the kinds of women this article is about.

Aircraft mechanic, here. In my opinion, the single most important criteria a young person should use these days for choosing a career is whether or not that job can be "offshored" economically. Far too many jobs that require a degree fail that test. Electricians are not going anywhere. Good choice.

They really aren't that good at hiding it, testosterone just makes it hard to see. How many times have you seen your buddies with women that you can spot as bad news from a mile away? This is the one relationship situation where female advice to a man is likely to be good. Ask your buddy's girlfriend what she honestly thinks about a girl, and she will speak truth.

Let's not forget that "Right Wing" includes religious puritans who would have us all condemned to celibacy outside of marriage, and "Left Wing" includes socially conservative labor Democrats (such as myself) who are more concerned with job offshoring and other economic issues than anything else. Sexual strategy is amoral. It's also apolitical.

I'm going to try and answer this from the perspective of the 50-year-old happily never-married man that I am. Sort of a non-bitter proto-MGTOW, who might enjoy (but doesn't need) a long-term relationship. First, she must be healthy at the start of the relationship. While I would not dump a significant other because she got sick, neither am I going to knowingly sign up for an expensive heartbreak. I'm sorry if that makes me a bad man. Second, she has to be at least a little attractive. While I do…

Does this http://www.aafp.org/afp/1998/0915/p891.html look painless? The skin of the penis is crushed together and held that way for several minutes until the bleeding stops. That's where the brown ring around my penis came from. This was done without anesthetic throughout the 20th. century, and even today the infant suffers through more than a week of unrelieved pain afterwards. Infant circumcision was perhaps morally justifiable 25 or 30 years ago when we didn't know any better, but not anymor…

The most important thing for a man to look for in a mate is that she be capable of being happy. If she is in a relationship and is not happy you can bet that her mate is going to get the blame. If she cannot be happy as a single woman no man will be able to fix that. Red Pillers approach an understanding of this truth when they speak of women destroying marriages for no better reason than they are "not happy". Women come closer to this truth when they advise each other to do exactly that, but th…

Best as I can tell it was stretched from business management theory, which comes pretty close to pulling something out of your posterior. Schadenfreude. The majority of men are sexually starved in their youths, when our sex drives are at their maximum. It is a truism in the manosphere that 20% of men have 80% of the sex in any group, and it is probably much worse than that among young people. That creates a lot of very frustrated involuntarily celibate young men. For a man to be sexually active outside of a relationship, he must have good genes, maintain a constant focus on "game", approach every attractive woman that he has an op…

I was a natural mechanic before I joined, but most men are not. There are other fields with good civilian crossover, though. The most important things most men get out of military service are intangible. My suggestion would be to do a tour in any occupational field that appeals to you, and then use the education benefits for civilian training afterwards. It's been a long time since I was in, but feel free to PM me with any questions and I'll do my best to help.

It won't be liberal Democrats, it will be conservative and libertarian Democrats that might come to support Men's Rights. The Left is much less homogenous than the Right. It's true. If I (M49) try online dating again I'm going to claim "divorced" instead of "never married". You'd think that not having to share my paycheck with an ex would be a good thing, but instead it seems to mark me as somehow defective. Of course, they always seem surprised to find that their advanced degree, demanding career and adorable kids are somehow negatives as well. Just goes to show how poorly the sexes understand each other.

Get religion. Join a conservative church and marry a younger woman who was brought up in it. Yes, that may require you to compromise your beliefs, and may require it for a very long time. But it is the only way I know of to meet women with traditional values today.

MGTOW here. I personally have no fear of rejection; due to a "Schizoid Personality" I really couldn't care less. Fear of rejection is based on emotional neediness, and I have never had that. I simply don't do attachment. When my sex drive settled down in my early thirties and I discovered that I could live happily without sex, finding no reward in the relationship itself I made a rational decision to stop chasing tail. It was expensive, energy intensive and time consuming, women my age were losi…

Thanks. I suppose balance is something that comes with age. A little more of my perspective as an outsider: I'm not sure that what is going on with Red Pill men is exactly "shaming" women who never marry. It's more like schedenfreude. It is a truism that 20% of men "get" 80% of women, but I suspect that the numbers are even worse. The majority of young men are sexually starved, having sex just often enough to keep the craving sharp; a few times per year outside of a relationship is considered do…

Traditionally, neither being a lifelong bachelor nor an "old maid" was considered a good thing. Society depends on reproduction and children need two parents to achieve their potentials. It's a tribal instinct that remains to this day. We are both subject to endless speculation about sexual orientation and mental health issues and are the objects of pity from those who believe that raising children is the whole purpose of life. Both are subject to nagging by grandchild-hungry parents. Never-marr…

Avoiding marriage was one of the smartest things I ever did. I am the only man my age (49) that I know who was not emotionally and financially shattered by someone who once loved him at some point in his life. I am also happy and healthy and fit, which is more than I can say for most married or recently divorced men my age that I know. Being single, the only question I feel qualified to answer is "Why shouldn't we encourage men to seek out educated women". In modern Western society education is …

Exactly. Harleys, cruisers and dual-sports sacrifice peak horsepower for torque right across the powerband, which makes for a much more docile bike. Nothing rattles a new rider's confidence worse than stalling his bike at an intersection, unless it's popping an unintended wheelie right afterwards. Unless a person lives in a nation or state with "tiered" motorcycle licenses, displacement is irrelevant. Weight doesn't even matter much unless you are teaching your girlfriend or son, and is actually…

Meh. I learned on a Harley, in Southern California. There is a lot to be said about learning on something big and mildly tuned. Guy could buy one and still own it 27 years later like I do mine instead of trading up a size every couple years, and it would be be safer than a sportbike and cooler than a beginner's bike.

Tell your son to advise the doctor that the procedure is not medically necessary and non-consensual. Performing it will be a violation of medical ethics, and he will at least be able to sue in 4 years if the doctor does it.

No, and I doubt you'll find anything that specific. What little research has been done seems to be focused on university students, and most of it is old and sloppily performed (Masters and Johnson, et. al.). This certainly does happen, but I have personally recovered a memory, confirmed by my parents; I beaned a kid with a rock when I was 4 and knocked him out and he had to go to the hospital. I only remember bits and pieces of how it happened, but the horror and guilt were clear as the day it happened. I thought I'd killed him. I'm really talking more about the financial sector than anything productive like utilities. But I'm leftish enough to prefer that things like water and sewerage be owned by the city or county than a private company with a monopoly.
