I got divorced at 31 with a 3 year old daughter at the time. This was 2 years ago. I was in shock, traumatized, and hopeless. Now… Im in much happier place for the most part. Its cliche, but it will get better. Please PM me if you want to chat. You got this. Stay strong man.

Paying $1,200 a month with one child. I accepted a promotion a month before she initiated and was making about $60k more than her. Now, shes with the dude who she left me for on a dual income. Lawyers, mediators, etc dont ask what theyre living situation would be. The fact i need a roommate to survive while she got everything she wanted and more stings. But the courts look at children first, which i cant blame. Its an unfair system for sure. But its simply calculated based on salary and overnigh…

Agreed with your post OP. However one year later after my finalization and ex/kid moving out, my biggest worry is finances. Although i make 6 figures +, my cost of living is high and that includes $1,200 in CS per month. Although im lucky to have kept my house, i have a roommate now just to keep me from living paycheck to paycheck and to save for a future. Saving money is my biggest challenge. I lost half my already small savings and all of my investments. The financial rebuild is real is real. …

This was me exactly me one year ago. Living under the same roof with our 4 year old daughter to me was torture and impacted my healing. She checked out and left me for some guy from 15 years ago and is now living with him and my daughter. What kept me going was “I shouldn’t be with someone who doesn’t want to be with me” mentality. I was in the darkest place a year ago, although im still healing, im in a better spot. You can PM me if you want to talk more. I was in your exact spot last year. Ple…

Happened to me. Same length of marriage and time together overall. One child. Women somehow magically change due to their “feelings” and no longer fight for the marriage and mentally check out. Eventually they monkey branch on. Best thing I’ve done was study women’s psychology while working on myself for self improvement. A year later I’m doing better. But obviously the situation was trauma. Keep your head up. Everything will be OK.

I do. Child support through the roof even though she shacked up with another man right after with everything being split in half on her end while she makes a good salary.

What do I do with regards to women then? I fit in this category. Should I not be dating? Should I not be trying to find some connection with someone new? Wouldn’t it be just as challenging with a single woman that’s never been married or has children and would probably want all of these with a new partner?

This. After coming out of a divorce and all the emotional, financial, and lifestyle changes it would be premature for me at 32 to say “never again”. Its more of a “pick wisely” next time without rush as it’s already been a “been there done that” thing. Take life as it comes and the lessons it throws at you. BUT i dont see myself getting married for a very long time if i even choose too.

Happened to me. 11 years together married 6. It gets better. I didn’t want to belive if at first. The first two months were horrible though. Endless depression for me, but I got out of it. Self Reflection, therapy worked

My stbx was partially influenced by social media and netflix. The show “sex life” on Netflix was an exact to a T resemblance of my failed marriage.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
