The way the study was done, it's essentially two tracks you can go down, both with people on them, and you had to chose in a split second. Unsurprisingly, we had a tendency to value the life of men less than women. Hell, men chose other men more often than women, showing that we have a bias against ourselves. For literally millions of years, across many mammalian species, a female had higher reproductive value, because they had to carry a a child.
