Not really, no. Men want women who are attracted to them. The only ones who are OK with a woman settling for them generally speaking are desperate and think that magically, they’ll become everything she ever wanted across time. It can happen, but without a raw, visceral attraction, it’s bound to fail.

Fair. Women live to serve and please, because if they don't, you women may as well not even exist. It's that simple. Like, this isn't even complex.

Yeah, I didn’t phrase it properly. If a woman passes the looks test, we look at whether she can meaningfully contribute to our lives with an agreeable and loving personality. On the other hand, women then put stock on what you were able to accomplish as a man.

I don't agree with you. What we call the 'red pill' is, in effect, the understanding that is required to succeed as a man in the dating world. Unfortunately, as with any ideology, there is a subset of men who have veered off into misogyny. A lot of men have been lied to and conditioned to believe that if they are 'nice enough', women will just come rolling in. The red pill seeks to wake up men to the following truth: men are born without inherent value, whereas women are born with inherent value…

Yes. Pretty much every day. I have too much stuff on my plate to think about women or dating.

Show me this 'material reality' that, as it appears, exists nowhere but inside your head. Go ahead. What's farcical to me are your logical reasoning skills.

What I'm getting from this is that, in your mind, one set of rules applies to men, and a different set of rules applies to women. Rules for thee but not for me!

Ah! Women say it, so it must be a fact! So, if a man said, "women are gold-diggers" and as support, he said, "Just go ask men", would you agree?

Pretty long-winded way of saying "Don't demand women to drop their standards if you're not prepared to do the same". No one should date someone they aren't attracted to. What is there to debate here?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/25 02:06 PM

I did present an argument. The fact you don't like it isn't my problem. When you say you don't care what nit-picking I do, what you're really saying is, "Please don't use the language I used against me!" As I said, "La la la".
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 05:42 PM

I will say that I envy your pivoting skills. You first said "not all men", even though your post said otherwise. Now that I've pointed out that your own words speak for themselves, rather than acknowledging that perhaps you went too far and trying to salvage the salvageable, you are digging yourself an even deeper hole. I'll bite. "The majority of you do". Ok. Show me the proof. However, what I suspect is happening here is best represented by the following lyrics of a song by Naughty Boy featuri…

Man want beautiful women to be the providers (and at somepoint might even want to be protected) Men want nothing but beautiful women Men want variety of beautiful women Man want women to be submissive/dumb across all boards Show me where, in that laundry list, you used the qualifier "most men". I'll wait. Please proceed. Unfortunately for you, I think I've had enough coffee.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 03:14 PM

"It's no longer about that", says the individual who created a whole post disrespecting men. That's like if I created a post titled "Women suck ass" and then I said to you, "It's not about women sucking ass". I know for a fact that I've had my coffee and so I am alert enough to know what your post said. I'll come forth and say it: you have serious problems with men. You made no effort to limit it to a set of men, instead saying (as usual) "Men bad! Women good!" As Joe Biden would say: "Come on, …
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 03:09 PM

Ah, indeed, so you were able to determine what all men want based on spending 5 minutes on the Internet. Just a question: you want women to be respected by men when you folks speak about men this way? It's the equivalent of men wanting women to respect them but then bashing them constantly. Time to come back down to reality. If you want men to be with you, you have to actually start treating them with some respect or remain single for the rest of time if you dislike them that badly. No reasonabl…

The logic behind this post is terrible and practically dripping with entitlement. You're essentially implying that unless we want to be friends with women, it follows we're misogynists. As phrased, you appear to think that men owe women friendship. We don't. This reeks of entitlement and yet, you are calling men entitled. Oftentimes, friendzone is used to mean that the woman did not want a relationship but he did. You're implying that men do not have feelings, and only see women as sex objects. …

I see where you’re coming from. I suppose what I was trying to get at is that I don’t see how certain men can make that determination based on looking at them other than relying on the usual stereotypes to draw that conclusion. It makes little to no sense to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 08:33 PM
3

Interesting, because, at least for me, I can't determine whether someone is 'easy' based on how they're dressed. I also don't see how someone being tattooed means they're easy. If someone is walking around half-naked, it doesn't tell me anything other than that they dress immodestly. I can tell from their demeanor, sure, but not based on their appearance.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 08:21 PM
7

Indeed. Some men (like myself) really wish that women would approach, because of the simple fact that it would make us actually feel desired. At the same time, as they say, if you don't like the rules of the game, don't play. We've had to make peace with it across time. Some haven't, and as a result, have withdrawn altogether.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 03:16 PM

I don't agree with your reasoning. If you're not interacting with a person, you're not "treating" them in any way. Rather, you're not inclined to do certain things based on lived experience. I'd argue that not invading someone's personal space is pretty basic decency. I'd wager any given person will feel uncomfortable if you not only invade their personal space, but continue getting closer and closer, as OP posited. Additionally, it's especially reasonable to assume that the average woman will b…

Not one of them will get you anywhere as a man. Generally speaking, women do not want to approach, and men know this, so it follows we don't send out hints for them to do something we know they probably won't do. If I'm interested in talking to them, I'll only do so if an opportunity naturally arises, i.e., a friend group or such things. That's the only way I have succeeded. I highly suspect that the first two would have the exact opposite intended effect, especially getting all up in her space …

So you are acknowledging that I am correct, i.e, that it is attributable to that in part, and that the whole “I require evidence there was a percentage change” was pretty much nonsensical. Excellent!
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/25 05:29 PM
2

Which one is it, that I apparently cannot prove why they do not or that I’m not showing you that the percentage used to be higher or the same? Because with respect to the first, there is plenty of evidence that this is one of the causes. Sure, I phrased it as being the only cause, which isn’t true. But from where I stand, whether they were higher or lower before is immaterial to figuring out why it is so abysmally low to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/25 05:26 PM
3

No, but the issue lies in the fact that they are low. That leads one to ask, why is it that such a small percentage identifies as feminist? Even if they were higher, then one asks why they are lower. If they have always been this low, one then asks why they aren’t higher. I don’t follow your logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/25 05:21 PM
3

That makes no sense. The numbers are that low because people believe feminism has lost its way.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/25 05:20 PM
7

Because in this day and age, feminism has lost its way. It has been hijacked by radical feminism and now looks like a man-hating ideology. Clearly, more and more people in the UK saw it for what it was and chose not to identify as feminists.

You're making the assumption that all men are sex-obsessed fiends, and thus, when they complain about dating apps, it must be because they are not getting sex. You are ignoring the fact that some of these men are complaining because they cannot find a woman to build a relationship with. The very title of this post indicates why the dating world is doomed and reflects the fact that the gap in understanding and empathy between men and women is becoming less of a gap and more of a chasm. Do you rea…

Fair enough, but they are still using a term which in and of itself is nonsensical. It's like if someone tried to offend me by calling me a baba waba. Since there are no metrics to determine who is or is not a real man, nor can it even be defined, the only logical conclusion is that when someone says you're not a 'real man', what they're really saying is, "You're not acting the way I want you to act." Why should I care that I'm not behaving the way some stranger wants me to behave?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 08:59 PM
18

There's no such thing as a real man. I'm perhaps being needlessly pedantic, but I don't understand this language we have been throwing around. If we say there's such a thing as a 'real man', then we have to by necessity define what a 'fake man' is, and I don't think we can. Since we cannot do that, saying 'real man' is just nonsensical. At best, what we can in fact do is elaborate on how we think a man should act, but that's a different issue.

I get what you are saying, but it is reasonable to conclude that if the advice you receive never gets you anywhere, it's pretty much useless advice, and there is no point in listening to it. Let me do this by way of analogy. Suppose that I really wanted to learn how to be better at sewing and went to someone who knows how to sew for advice. The advice they give me doesn't really make me any better at sewing. Would a reasonable person keep asking them for advice on how to sew? It's hard to make a…

I'm not convinced and am somewhat confused by the post. You began the post by saying that looking for someone better is a "sure-fire" way to end up with men who don't commit. How did you reach this conclusion? If a woman gets with someone who is funnier, for instance, I don't see how that means the man doesn't respect her. Conan O'Brien is probably funnier than his wife, but he sure as heck respects her. Of course what you're saying is more likely than not true if the personality differences are…

Most of your argument was based on some statements requiring support: Most men aren't doomed to a life of not knowing romantic enjoyment Most women don't have an army of simps and orbiters If you can't prove this, then this whole argument, in my opinion, falls apart. Yes, things are generally amplified on the Internet, which we all know to be true. I'll gently point out that the average man doesn't really care about a woman's achievements as much as a woman cares about a man's. They care about whether the woman will meaningfully contribute to his life. Of course, the average, reasonable man probably would be reticent in dating a woman with no prospects and no job, but no guy will be intimidated by a woman's career. Ask each of these women whether they have men prepared to be with her, but which aren't good enough for her because her 6-foot…

"These include, for example, the view that women are hypergamous by nature and constantly seeking to maximize their reproductive success with a ‘better’ man." This is based on evolutionary psychology. Granted, it is true that no study has affirmed that it is a universally applicable principle; rather, they have only stated that there is reason to believe that at least some women do have this tendency. I'll point you to "The Evolution of Desire: Strategies of Human Mating" by David M. Buss, in wh…

Watch what they do, not what they say. Those are only some of the things they list. The average woman's list is, I suspect, much longer. If what you were saying were true, every man with those qualities would have a girlfriend, which brings me to my next point. Why is it that not every man with those qualities has a girlfriend? Because the kind and funny ones are oftentimes seen as boring, and are really only paid attention to when the exciting bad boys are no longer available. Is this what alwa…

Being a man is hard, imagine being rejected by more than 50 women only to be rejected again. Sorry, couldn't help it. I will never be able to empathize with having too many options when the average guy barely has any, and neither will those men who are not in the top 1% and cannot get women to undress themselves before them without needing to utter a word. Some of the things that you pointed out are true, to the extent that there is an imbalance in the dating market with respect to the effort men have to put in just to go on a date and how tough it is to even get matches on a dating app (although we must consider there are more men than women on those apps). I disagree, however, with an escort being the solution. Sex in and of itself is kind of meaningless and mechanical after you've done it enough times, unless you actually have an emotional conn…

I hardly see how being liked for one's wallet means you are liked as a person. Like I said, it means you are liked for your resources. I'd rather not be liked at all than be liked only because of my bank account. I'd want someone to like me for who I am, rather than only liking me if I open up my wallet. It's a little bit like if a woman said, "I'm ok with being with someone who only likes me for sex". I have yet to hear one woman say that, and that is because I suspect they'd probably feel used…

I would tell him to not exude desperation and to get in touch with who he is and develop an appreciation for it. In my opinion, the so-called 'betas' are oftentimes the ones who seek validation from women because they are on shaky grounds in terms of being comfortable with themselves. In other words, unless women fawn over them, they don't like themselves very much. They should also learn to be happy by themselves. If one likes oneself for who they are and is fine being alone, they can slowly wo…

You don't say! Water is wet as well. What I was saying is that 'kindness' doesn't really turn some women on. Otherwise, there's no way to explain how some, during their party days, liked kindness so much that they dated assholes, then ended up hating all men.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 06:08 PM

It depends on whether the guy took care of himself. As to your second request for a description, I'd have to ask every woman on the planet and get back to you. And do these same studies explain why, even though it is so highly sought after, women date the assholes and then go on TikTok to complain that all men are trash? You can pull out studies here and there to indicate what people are looking for. What's more pertinent is what people actually do.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 05:55 PM

Sometimes it happens, but there are surely plenty of occasions in which the 'kind' man is someone who would have never even gotten a second look years before. If a woman's dating history consists of dating assholes, it follows there is something about them which stirs up a visceral desire. Women have agency. No one forced them to date assholes, so you can see how that isn't exactly an unreasonable conclusion to draw. Plenty of women find the 'bad boys' irresistible. The 'kind' guy was the one wh…

The whole post is based on just world fallacy and the fallacy of composition, i.e., some of the men I know are X, thus all men are X. Based on what you wrote, it seems that when you say that men are emotionally stunted, what you are really saying is that you wish men would feminize themselves. Men and women are different. I agree. One of the comments here indicates that feminists criticize each other all the time. This is meaningless if done behind the curtain. Some people do not take feminists seriously due to the loudest voices being the man-bashing ones. All we hear then is silence from the supposedly pious feminists, which is basically seen as quietly agreeing. This post smells like an exercise in gaslighting. Once again, it's always the man's fault. I agree with the essence of what you are saying, which is, "If you don't like the game, then don't play". I take issue, however, with the nuances you are missing. The issue is not with having to play; the issue is with the rules of the game. Let's face it, most women don't know how to court at all. I have several issues with your post. First of all, you seem to imply there is some sort of mutual exclusivity between assessing a prospective partner's moral character and having a desire for sex. They are not mutually exclusive. You say that marriage shouldn't be permanent in the title of your post. Yet, the fact that divorce can take place has to mean that marriage isn't permanent. It can be "permanent" if the people in the marriage make that sort of commitment or they come from a culture in which divorce is frowned upon, and they'd face serious social ramifications if they got divorced. At that point, they are pretty much compelled to remain in the marriage. It's not permanent per se. I do agree that people oftentimes…

The effects will be that a large number of men will continue to exist as they do now, meaning remaining single. What is causing this is a) the fact that a lot of men feel like society doesn’t really care much about their grievances, and only tells them to deal with it and man up; and b) that your average man is likely completely invisible to women. It does not surprise me at all that this post was written by a woman. You have no clue what you are talking about, with respect. Online dating is terrible for the average guy. You are essentially invisible because there are more men than women. Due to the fact that demand is higher than supply, the supply becomes harder to acquire. Wait a minute, you’re getting things confused here. Joe wouldn’t have been desired 10 years ago, so why should Joe want her now? Joe wanted her, but she wanted Brad the Chad. Brad the Chad is married now, so Joe will do! Joe would not have been happier because to a guy, a woman being with you because she relaxed her standards means you were settled for, unless they were relaxed through natural growth.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 05:38 PM
4

I gave you the answer. He would not be happier. Who wants to feel like second best? No one with a shred of self-respect would say, “Woohoo, I’m a leftover who is just tasty enough to pass muster, but 10 years ago, I would have been pushed to the side!”
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 05:31 PM
5

Wrong. A guy like Joe would rather be single than know he was settled for. My point is, you can keep your standards as high as you want, but don’t relax them just to be with someone and mess that person up mentally and emotionally. Relaxing your standards just so you can be with someone speaks to desperation. Relaxing them because you have actually changed is a different story. In the former, you are living a lie. That’s why divorce rates are so high.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 05:21 PM
12

Not good at all, because Joe knows that he is not truly desired. Rather, he is desired because better options are no longer available. Joe probably feels like a leftover. True, some women’s tastes do change across time, but we all know of at least one woman who said, “eh, he’ll do”, and married out of desperation. Ready to bet that if Jason Momoa had come along, Joe Schmoe would have continued to be invisible. Denying this is like denying that water is indeed wet.

I don’t follow. It can be both. We should acknowledge that women have a laundry list of requirements that men do not have, and everybody knows it. That is why they eventually settle, because there comes a day when they will turn around and see that everyone around them is getting married, so they panic because they feel that time is rapidly starting to run out (especially if they want a family), and go for a Joe Schmoe who would have been invisible to them 10 years earlier. Women can have high s…

So you won’t answer my question. Friends and a couple do not have the same dynamic. A woman friend will demand everything they’d demand from a boyfriend with none of the benefits.

Oh really? Tell me how friends have the exact same dynamic as a couple.

Can’t be both. The dynamic of a friendship is totally different to that of a relationship.

Fair, but some women define or perceive husband material as the safe but boring guy who never would have caught her eye a decade earlier, and some men want to be viscerally desired, especially when the average man probably has never experienced it.

With respect, no man will wait, for example, 3 months to sleep with a woman who put out after a couple of weeks with the previous guy. Women’s solipsism makes it so they don’t comprehend that, in our minds at least, putting out that quickly means there was a visceral desire there that she doesn’t have for you. You’re the sucker, the nice guy she wants to settle down with after Brad the Chad won’t return her calls anymore.

Friendship or relationship, which one is it

Yes, I was expecting you to tell me why your argument was logically sound, which doesn't seem to be possible here, because it is as logically sound as saying that I could in fact fly to the moon by thinking about it. Point number two, taking someone out on a nice date doesn't have to involve spending exorbitant amounts of money. I have dated many lovely women who were perfectly happy to get a coffee with me or go on a walk, and we both had a fantastic time and had healthy relationships. Those ar…

'Don't be mean' made me chuckle, since you created a post in which you reduced men to living and breathing wallets, and on top of that, referred to us as 'males', as if we were animals roaming around in the jungle. If you are going to be unpleasant, expect the same treatment in return. As to you apparently not being out of your mind, please tell me how it is reasonable to proclaim that it is apparently immature if you don't spend $200 on someone you don't even know. I must have missed the memo d…

CMV: OP is a walking and talking red flag. This is one of the worst posts I have ever seen here. "If he doesn't already feel lucky to be in your presence" is both astoundingly arrogant and is a statement which is reflective of the reason why we have seen, for example, a rise in TikToks of women lamenting that all the good men disappeared. Here's why. Women, especially good looking ones, have become accustomed to reeling men in and keeping them there based purely on being a good looking woman. As…

I think 4 years is too long. I think a more reasonable time frame is 2 years. I think that people oftentimes get married alarmingly soon (for example, after 6 months of dating). There seems to be this asinine rule being circulated around social media that a woman is wasting her time if a man doesn't propose within 1 year, which I don't think is even remotely long enough. I'd never marry someone without first knowing almost everything about them, and I think that 2 years is sufficient to get ther…

The fact that men usually prefer younger women is hardly shocking, and is rooted in evolutionary psychology. In fact, studies have shown that men generally find women between 20 and 25 to be at the very peak of their attractiveness. Some men who want to have a family generally prefer women in that age range because that is likewise when they are at their most fertile. Women generally prefer older men because they are more established and therefore more suitable prospects for long-term mating. I …

No. However, I know that if I see a woman who is attractive, it is unlikely I can be friends with her, because my primal instincts as a man will make me want to eventually go a step further. I won't be assessing her as a potential partner the moment I meet her, but I know I will be making that assessment at some point in time. It's just the way I'm wired. I would effectively be entering into a friendship under a false pretense, since I'd drop the friendship if they told me they were not interest…

Actually, before I stopped using dating apps, I'd swipe left most of the time. None of them were my type or they were good looking but single mothers, which is essentially a guaranteed left swipe.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother, unless you are an exceptionally good looking guy. Most of us guys are essentially invisible to women. We have to accept it and move on, rather than wasting time.

I agree, especially due to the fact that these days, your average man doesn't get any attention, no matter what he does, because attractive looking girls tend to have options, and in all likelihood, some of them are more attractive than you are. Chase excellence, not women. Also, think about it: if you are chasing someone, it means they are trying to get away from you. Why would any man go any further? The "chasing" game is best left for kindergarten. Honestly, for an average guy, there is absol…

I won't lie to you, but in this day and age, relationships are hard to come by, especially organically and especially as a heterosexual man. This is partly attributable to dating apps and supply and demand on said apps. It's tough, but my piece of advice is don't allow your happiness and satisfaction to depend on being in a relationship. Find your independence through what you love doing and what makes you come alive. Just dressing differently or grooming yourself differently or becoming a gym b…
