Yep, it's highly likely I won't find a "why". The only way to change something is to just take action with a starting point. I've tried that before as mentioned but it always collapses after a short while. You, on the other hand, grew obsessed with it, which is much better. How did you become that way?

Watched it. It's common sense that negativity is something people want to avoid, and nihilism is a very negative viewpoint. I'm here to address that and look for solutions. The man in the video claims that people cling to nihilism because they're afraid of the opposite, but I'm seeking that opposite. I'm not afraid of making mistakes, because failure is a learning process.

You read in between the lines and select whatever you like to criticize out of context. Why are you an answerer on AskTRP if you're not intent on helping?

I have taken the action approach twice and did it for some weeks, where I do all kinds of self improvement, including running and lifting, eliminating negative thoughts, but it never lasts long. So I've thought about just doing something, without thinking about "why". I've attempted to just make a todo list for every day, with activities to advance my body, mental state, future career, and trying out hobbies. I also forced myself to think as an optimist, act and eat optimally, the typical self i…

I only get out of bed because I have to... Now that I have a couple of months off since I graduated I wake up at the most random times. Most people wake up only because they have to. I never hear them thinking about life purpose very often and thoroughly though. It's difficult to find something. What do you wake up for, personally?

Yes, all those things are only nice to have when they're free, but not something I feel like working towards. I think finding a goal that does want me to is very difficult though, haven't found anything after searching for so long. What is your calling?

That brutal drive that has to be awakened sounds really intriguing to me if that really exists. I've thought about something similar, about being a person in a difficult situation that can think about what's important to him, i.e. family, and then is able to perform well in the situation. I've been blue pill fake romance in media doing this for girlfriends in movies, i.e. "I'll do it for her!!" but I think putting a girl in that position in your mind is extremely dumb and leads to a bad oneitis.…

Giving up and not doing anything isn't incorrect. Working hard to improve yourself isn't incorrect either. Enjoyment is subject to a person itself and I don't see how I can find enjoyment struggling in a losing race for things that I don't even think are worth it. Both my and your thinking aren't wrong. Regardless, passive agressively stating your opinion on self improvement doesn't answer my question.

I've been reading TRP posts almost daily for a year now. I've read the sidebar, though not more than once. I understand the use behind it, but no matter how much I read this I can't help but think "so what if I get girls, money, power, etc., I don't see it giving me fulfillment". The premise of potential fulfillment doesn't give me the drive to actually start working towards it. I won't be arrogant and say that I know everything, and thus I will follow your advice and re-read the sidebar and eve…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
