Do you even know anyone who is gay? A few of my roommates have been so I have quite a few gay friends, and I can say that's very rare. None of them are in open relationships, although some do hookup a lot (though they aren't in relationships). Really, their relationships aren't much different from hetero relationships in that regard, at least from my observations.

We see this in the data on OkCupid where women rate 80% of men 'less attractive than average' (a mathematical impossibility) This is pedantic, but that's actually not impossible. 80% below median is, and 80% below average under a normal distribution is, but clearly the distribution of SMV is not normally distributed. Some men have much higher SMVs than others. For example, say we have a binary ranking system for SMV, 0 = unattractive, 1 = attractive, and 20% of men are considered attractive. The…

Don't go into science, engineering, or HR. Shoot for finance (front office stuff like banking or trading, not accounting), law, or medicine (as a doctor) if you want your job to have sex appeal. Barring that, consulting or a startup.

Like you said, you thrive in a wolfpack mentality. You're at the bottom of the wolfpack for now, but the key is that you're in the wolfpack nonetheless. Personally, I'd try to "game" my boss (i.e. gain favor with him) and just accept that he can put you in your place for now so that you can rise in the wolfpack faster (to abuse that metaphor).

Which at this point of my life isnt what I want to hear. If it's not what you want to hear, but it's true, then it's a blue pill fantasy. Yeah, high finance at age 23 isn't going to impress girls your age - they either won't know what it is, or if they actually do know Greenlight from Blacksotne, then they're probably not impressed (because they're likely high status so it's assumed). However, befriending high-status men NOW (e.g. MDs of your bank / PE firm, or PMs if at a hedge fund) has a dual…

Now why does this point matter? Celebrities are even more susceptible to blue pill mentality because they never had to work on themselves or improve their game in order to attract women. Uh what, how does becoming a highly successful musician / athlete / actor / politician / whatever NOT require you to work on yourself A LOT? Like sure, they might not have to develop perfect game because they have enough status, but they got that status by working on themselves.

Not true - majority of jobs lost in the most recent recession were lost by men. As you can see, more men lost jobs than women in '08-'09:http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2014/04/07/women-have-recovered-jobs-lost-in-recession-men-havent/

TRP has 83,543 subscribers as of this post. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of millions (billions?) of white knights and feminists. Do not get tricked by TRP's recent growth into thinking that we're winning. We are most certainly losing the war. The TRP as of now is just a breeding ground for soldiers of future wars, but make no mistake, we are losing.

The party in power almost always does poorly in midterms - it's not really a party thing. A rare exception was 2002, when the Republicans gained more control, but that was because of 9/11 as people wanted unity. Don't forget 2006 when the Democrats clobbered the Republicans in the midterms.

It's probably fairly close to what your SAT/ACT score would predict. Take your score, find your percentile, and then convert that percentile on the IQ test of your choice to a score, and you'll have a fairly good estimate.

The child has to trust the scientist with the marshmallows will follow through with 2 more later We were just taking about this in my psychology class. There's actually a follow-up study that examines just what you were asking. Look up "Rational Snacking" by Kidd, Palmeri, and Aslin. My biggest beta tendency is that I care far too much about validation from others, especially women. I'm too invested in what others think of me, when it should be that I'm invested in what I think of myself.

She's had a tough life and I'm glad something went "right" for her...she was desperate for validation from the opposite sex just like a lot of men, and she paired off with a guy in a similar situation. inb4 beta faggot, because having some compassion for those who've had it hard is not weakness

I think she's being pretty prudent here. Either the example she's thinking of can't be anonymized or people would ostracize her for describing anything, even vaguely. By only asserting the existence of it, she gets the benefits of sympathy without potentially alienating any other senators, which would diminish her influence. If I had a position of power, I would do the same. There's no point in potentially alienating other senators by being a squeal UNLESS it makes the non-alienated senators sup…

Financing is usually only a problem for successful companies that are growing so fast that they run out of cash... in order for the VC gap to be an actual problem, you'd need woman run SMBs to be growing a lot faster than male ones, which I have not heard any evidence suggesting that is the case.

Econ, minors in stats and computer science. I was also in leadership positions for a few clubs at my school and invested with my own personal account using money I earned over the summers. I don't think certifications matter at the undergrad level, but GPA and leadership certainly does.

This is so true. Let me tell you a story. In high school, I was a pretty good runner, made all-state, etc, and I was near the top of my class with loads of AP classes and high test scores. I was destined to get in to a top 5 school (and did), and probably because of that combination of athletic and academic awards, one of the smart girls in my year (but not as smart as me) was infatuated with me. Most investment banks don't hire math and physics PhDs for investment banking roles. They might hire them for trading roles, but I think they're mostly hired for risk managements or structuring roles. More seem to be hired by quant hedge funds or prop shops. Also, the people they hire are PhDs at top programs too - a PhD in math from Central Michigan University won't cut it (but one from MIT will).

If you're in the US, then this is for you. Since you have the grades, go to a top 50 university, top 25 preferably, and make sure to maintain a 3.7+ in econ, stats, finance, computer science, or math. Try to do 2 of them (e.g. double major or major + minor). Then you can get a front office role in finance or consulting (which are almost entirely closed off to people from lower ranked, and still extremely difficult to get if you go to a top 50 school, but doable) or in software development at a m…

When you're looking at smoking, you really have to look at the harm principle as articulated by John Stuart Mill. Second hand smoke harms me when someone else does it, so that's why the government steps in. That's pretty reasonable. However, what the feminist movement is doing completely abuses this principle to where they define everything as harm, like someone looking at them the wrong way. Now, the only "harm" that person feels is based on their subjective interpretation of the event, and is …

Also, I'm a little disappointed to see that a lot fo TRP hates trans people - I don't think most people "choose" to feel like they're a different sex/gender, and I'll be tolerant of their choice. Yeah but if you're in the US, you're not going for Eastern European women, you're going for American women. Status is relative. If you want your income to be "impressive" relative to other Americans, I'd say 100k+ under age 35, 150k+ over 35. However, it doesn't really matter if everything else is in line.

Not a PhD student at an Ivy League, but an undergrad - what I've seen absolutely confirms RP theory. Honestly, this is the rapiest (rapey = having behaviors that generally differentiate rapists from non-rapists) frat I have ever heard of. Yes, false rape accusations are bad, but so is rape. They're innocent until proven guilty, yes, but there definitely should be an investigation here. Rape is terrible, and there are sickos out there who do it. I disagree; if you can do something besides philosophy in undergrad, you'll do very well in the job market. Men have always been disposable. It's like that everywhere in nature -several species of insects have the female eat the male insects after sex. And humanity has fought wars since before recorded history. Men fought and died, and even if you survived but lost, you were killed while the women of your town were spared and taken as prisoners (because they had inherent value). This isn't to say either had it good, but I'd much rather live than die.

Briffault's law applies to sexual strategy, which is why it distinguishes between male and female. However, Briffault's law is just an application of a broader law applied to sex. What is this law? Whoever has power and / or leverage in a relationship (of any kind) will only continue the relationship if there is a potential future benefit from association. Briffault's law comes in because the females of a species control reproduction, and hence power in the family relationship. What I'm saying i…

Be careful with the Hilary analogy - I think that was more of a political marriage of two highly ambitious people who knew that together they could better achieve what they want. From a financial perspective, yes, but from a lot of other perspectives, absolutely not. How do you calculate the financial value of passing down your genes and preserving your part of the family tree? You can't. How can you value the happiness that children bring? How do you value being able to raise someone who is half you and half someone you (hopefully) love? Now, that might not matter to you, but to others, it matters a lot.

The Flynn effect isn't magic with an infinite curve, it's limited just like anything else. Your population can only benefit so much from proper nutrition and education. Riiight, the dumb people get smarter so the overall intelligence of the population increases. lower-IQ I'm going to push back here on the basis of the Flynn effect. People will become smarter unless something drastic happens, for which I see no evidence showing that as more than a mere possibility. I think the world will appear stupider, but that will be a function of the people who in previous times would be too uneducated / illiterate to share their opinion becoming literate / educated enough to share their less-dumb but still stupid opinion. Of course, smarter doesn't mean wiser, and …

The standard error of the estimate will go down as the sample size increases. The variance of the underlying random variable may be large, but that applies to individual trials. The standard error of estimate of the size of the effect will decrease in size approaching 0 as the sample size increase to infinity. Omitted variable bias is always going to be a problem, and that's why I said it the result was statistically significant as opposed to saying there's clear discrimination. 2-5% is small enough that there reasonably could be some combination of small omitted factors that explain the gap.

Once you control for things like education, occupation, experience, race, marriage, and a host of other factors, you get that the wage gap is at most 2-5%, but still statistically significant. To a large degree, the red pill is about understanding human sexuality, and what does and does not work. Moreover, it's not about faking any of these things - the goal is to actually internalize these things. (Many / most) women find fit men attractive? Get fit. Women generally like a man who's "better" than them / dominates them? Most people (not just women) do - become better and more dominant. Women test you? Yes, and that's okay. Disagreed if the goal is to have kids - you want them to be smart, and the girl with the masters is likely smarter.

38 / 2 + 7 = 26 While I don't blame the guy for being attracted and even fucking an 18 year old, I will say that I would be horrified of dating an 18 year old if I were 39 and had a 13 year old daughter. I also know that if I were a parent, I would absolutely not want a 39 year old man dating my 18 year old daughter.

Suicide is a terrible thing, and I wish it upon no one. I know some people here might be bitter and think "she deserved it [the negative attention for doing porn]," but at the end of the day it's terrible regardless of circumstances. You don't have to approve of what she did to be against the bullying she received and her subsequent suicide. This isn't a feminist / TRP thing really, it's having some basic human decency. To provide an analogy: we're on TRP to improve ourselves in some sense. We'v…

The solution is obvious. No it isn't. You can't just assert that a claim is obviously true and hope everyone falls for it. While the blogger does explain the lead up to the problem somewhat well, mandatory birth control is only one of several solutions, including more paternity testing (a far less restrictive option, too). Alpha and beta have very useful meanings in finance. “Beta” is the return you get from eg the fact that stocks generally go up. Alpha is the return you get from buying the sto…

iv) flirt with other women. don't conceal you're married, but don't shout it out. a married man flirting is still stigmatized (double standard much?) but be aware: you got nothing to lose except being ahead in the dating market and making your wife furious. I disagree. There is more to lose, especially if there is a nasty divorce because of it. I suppose flirting is safer than outright cheating, but be cautious is all I'm saying - other people will be more sympathetic if they think you're comple…

It's not like I'm completely out of shape or fat or anything, just that at this current moment I'm not in the best shape I've been in my life. I'm still in better shape than most people, including people who are doing much better romantically than I am. I was in amazing shape last year, and I still faced the same problems. So while I'll definitely be working on getting myself into tip top shape, I can tell there are larger non-physical aspects to work on too that are probably more important.

Thanks for commenting. I'll definitely lift, focus on my future, etc, but do you have any thoughts on how I should adjust my game for this situation , or even if I should?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
