Let me start by saying that I believe all of us are not responsible for our circumstances. I straight up don't believe in free will. None of us chooses our genetics, gender, parents, language, attractiveness, IQ, sexual orientation, height, where we're born, skin colour, health, mental health, perseverance. The "I don't have wings and cannot fly therefore there is no free will" stances are getting really tiresome. Freewill is not being an omnipotent entity that dictates the universe, it's litera…

> A man expressed his resentment at not having an egalitarian relationship, saying, “That’s not the relationship I want for myself.” Yet he later added that his partner should do more of the household labor, because she was more invested in a clean house. Just an aside from my marriage, I was never good enough to do alot of the house stuff, and I did it wrong even when she showed me how. Now imagine I asked my wife to fix the blown head gasket in our car, or shoot the dog that needs to be put do…

I have literally only one platonic love man friend, and I was not the brave one to say it first.

Try to remember that we are all people.

I think in principle this can be true more than it isn't. However it ought to be said that there are many who are geographically isolated (myself) and I don't think it would be ideal or good to tell people, likely many, who are decent people just looking for a connection, that they aren't valuable enough. I don't see the benefit to that other than to scare some into self improvement which is useful.

I've seen men and women stay in the relationship that was toxic because they were that attractive and the sex was that good.

Yet somehow I imagine you rest on the abuse women in past eras have suffered, and accepted that as part of your worldview and identity. If collective roles are bogus, than what have you done to limit your female privilege?

Please god tell me you're leaving the country. When the kid turns 18 you can reach out and offer them a support and relationship. They will understand or they won't. Either way you'll be in the same boat but worse off here. People talk about how 0-18 is important but if the kid can survive it they'll need a good parent even more from 18-30.

It's one thing to understand women, it's another to forgive them. God is real and there are higher realities. Love doesn't mean tolerating the cruelty of others, but it does mean not seeing them as objects like they can see you...

Something people don't talk about, my buddy is fucked up for life from high school football. So take that advice with a pinch of salt.

I was born in Alaska. Not really sure what this is doing here, sounds like the power could have gone out without any billing issue (happens all the time up here), kid got out. Not making a comment on the ethic or parental responsibility. -31 Is actually not as cold as it used to be for us, anything after -50 scares me though.

Don't text her no matter what she does. His advice is gold. Wife cheated on me, I embarrassed myself. Believe it or not it might be years till you're in a Right place to even be civil with her. You're also in shock. Literally in shock. You might show fever symptoms in the coming days. Chills and numbness. Headaches and insomnia. Depression, self esteem issues, eating disorders. The whole package. Talk to me anytime if you need to.

Divorce hurts women more in the long run, if men can literally survive it.

I know it's not the climate to make this comment but even though I divorced the legal benefits we both gained were worth it, even financially for both of us. Yes I'm thinking about Healthcare and taxes.

It's important to be patient with yourself. That's something us guys never hear. Nothing's wrong if you feel empty or broken sometimes, that's normal. Just be nice to yourself. Like an injury on your leg, a broken bone and a broken heart are similar, bones heal faster though.

It is a crap excuse. But it's coming from a place where she feels lost and she needs to find herself again and it's not something that anyone can really help with. Keep that in mind and if you tell her this and give her space maybe some magic will happen. Remember also at the end of the day she is a free person and doesn't need a good reason to fuck up.

I know this is all fresh in your mind (me too, divorce 2 weeks ago). But you will have small glimpses in the coming months that maybe you can find it in your heart to love someone like that again. But people should be telling you it's ok to be hurt and jaded for years even. Take it slow, you're starting over. Start with coffee with a cute girl in a few months or longer if you need to.

Something I wish I did during my divorce was be more patient. Be more calm. Try to talk to her and see where she is coming, see if there can be anything done. And if she gets mean or salty don't return it. The kids need to see their parents be adults. This is the most important lesson you'll ever give your children RIGHT NOW-is how you handle this and treat each other. Their future is the most important thing. Mom and Dad need to be able to talk to each other even if it's hard. Especially in fro…
