Oh, my ...,,?!? How are they even considered 'gifts'? They're more like what a teenager would buy a friend as a joke.... I'm actually going on Etsy now to look... I think my conclusion is that too many men don't really know what they want. They've bought into a lie. They've got a shit tonne of work to do on their brains and bodies. Imagine dating these men 😰😰😰

I've only dated three Desi. Initially I thought that 'high caste' would mean arsehole man. My longest and most fulfilling relationship was with the high caste man, who was acutely aware of his privilege. Although, I will still be wary of any high-caste behaviour if I met another man in the future. I would be disturbed if someone had high-caste identifying paraphernalia on his body or in his home.

Not kidding This very similar thing happened to my girlfriend. He hooked up with her after leaving ten years monastic life. He got into Buddhism in the first place because he was struggling with mental illness and processing a loveless upbringing I think. Also, women didn't find him attractive in his 20s. He left her for a younger woman at the school where he works. He told my friend that he 'never found her attractive and now is repulsed by her'. But he then played the 'poor sensitive me' card …

I don't think he 'meets and falls in love with someone else' Often it's just that he meets or reconnects and then decides to use new woman as his sex doll/bangmaid. That whole thing. Men don't 'love' women. They don't put women on a pedestal or hold our opinions to high esteem. They 'love' men, but use women for sex and cleaning. She sounds like an amazing woman to both her family and community!!! He seems to only focus on himself, taking from wherever he can. It's jaw dropping how entitled he is. He never wanted a wife and children. He wanted a business partner he could have meaningless sex with.

I think you're actually my mum gone through a time machine talking about my Dad. You gotta set your boundaries otherwise you'll end up rapidly aging and losing your sense of self! Tell him to come find you when he's repaired and ready to date for real. I wish my mum had taken this advice. Instead she's gaslit herself into decades of denying her own needs. My Dad had not changed in 25 years.... Do not put up with this. These men will take, take, take.

That is EXACTLY how my friend's ex husband proposed. Since their marriage he has served two jail sentences for his violence against her. She is now free of him but he's done a lot of damage.

I think I've HVd too early on so many times that I've run out of enthusiasm for dating. Has anyone else experienced this where you just can't conjure any interest or momentum to get invested in dating? And do you have a strategy that works to get kick started again?

Exactly! Like a guitar or car or computer. And even if it's not in one spend, they will spend it over a relatively short time on those hobbies/toys. Bleh. And generally the woman is the one organising and paying for the gifts for other peoples weddings /birthdays etc.

Thanks for sharing this. It broadens my understanding of this lifestyle. Ive seen a lot here of equating financial wealth with value. The people I'm interested in dating are generally not rich because they work for NFPs or in PS.

I wish I had installed a recording device at my friend's house years ago. Everyone thinks her ex is so charming and helpful. He was so abusive and manipulative. He's a teacher as well and all the parents think he's amazing. Watch out for the charming male teachers. I don't believe they are kind.
