I do benefit, and will continue to maximize that benefit to the best of my ability. That doesn't mean I'm morally entitled to it. I take welfare because I can, just as I would rob a bank if I could. That makes me the bad guy, just as you're the bad guy for supporting the policies which allow me to do it. The difference between us is that I'm not a hypocrite. I don't pretend to be a "Nobody owes you anything" rugged individualist while also whining about how taxpayers aren't forced to pay me to r…

"The government" doesn't pay for your benefits; taxpayers do. Governments don't produce wealth, they merely seize it from productive people and use it to buy supporters.

I certainly hope you don't support politicians who would force others to pay for your healthcare, education, child-rearing, housing, etc. All of those things require effort to which you admit you're not entitled.

You've entirely missed the point of my comments. I'm not talking about myself. I'm not personally affected by any advice here because I've never even tried to interact with a woman outside of professional situations. The thread started because you criticized u/WindSlicerEXG -- unfairly in my opinion -- for using dating apps. You know very well that if he had said that he refused to use apps, some other asshole would have come out of the woodwork to say that it was his fault for not trying. No ma…

A family is all I ever wanted, but there is nothing "to be done." I can't spontaneously grow the 30% of my face that's missing. I can't cure autism. I can't change the fact that I started balding at 16. I can't straighten my spine or grow five inches.

"Read a book ... about anatomy" I have an extremely detailed knowledge of human anatomy. "you can then experiment." Experiment with whom? As I said, I don't get to participate in the activity.

The quality of the food is sometimes irrelevant. If the building itself is uninhabitable, nobody is coming to your restaurant. How am I meant to get good at something when I'm not allowed to participate in it?

You don't see any flaw in your argument? You're insisting that I should care about society's problems while simultaneously telling me that society doesn't owe me anything and that I have to fix all my own problems. Would you invest money into a business if you knew you'd never get a share of the profits?

There is nothing good about me. I'm not interested in anything. I'm not good at anything. I have never felt joy. I don't interact with other people unless I have to. When I go outside, people spit on me, throw things at me, point and laugh, scream epithets out of their car windows, etc. I have no interest in "connecting" with that.

If I can't find a partner, I can't have kids. If I can't have kids, I have no reason to care about any of the other stuff. I can just live with my parents, collect welfare, and dodge the draft if WWIII rolls around.

"If you can't survive a recession, it's because your employer has better options. It's that simple. They don't owe you a job and frankly there are more important things than appeasing the desires of employees who frankly aren't trying that hard. "A lot of employees are lazy, unproductive, and uneducated. All of this is way more important to fix and will also fix your poverty." By your own reasoning, you shouldn't worry about economic recessions.

Going outside and socializing isn't an option for me. Even if it were, it wouldn't lead to romantic success.

Nobody can make accurate predictions about geopolitics. The systems involved are too vast and complex. Armageddon could kick off in ten minutes or never. Either way, there's nothing I can do about it. Worst case scenario, I get vaporized by a hydrogen bomb. Who cares? I would care about climate change if I had kids. 5 billion species of life have gone extinct, why should humanity be any different? In my opinion, serious civil conflict within the US is pretty unlikely. I'm sure there will be more…

If you use dating apps, you're wasting your time. If you don't use dating apps, you're not even trying. If you cold approach, you're harassing women who have no interest in you. If you don't cold approach, you're a coward. If you warm approach, you're being a creepy manipulator: "Stop friend-zoning yourself!" If you don't warm approach, how could a woman ever get to know you? If you're forward and honest about your intentions, you're a pervert: "Just talk to us like people!" If you're more reser…

I don't see anything in the OP that constitutes "licking the Russian boot." Criticism of the Ukrainian government isn't an endorsement of the Russian invasion. As far as I can tell, OP only mentioned Ukraine in particular because that was the subject of the article he posted. Allowing yourself to be enslaved is a moral failure. That fact remains as true in the US or Ukraine as it is in Russia or North Korea.

We are now in year eight of the "Everyone who disagrees with me is a Russian bot" timeline.

There are no women on earth willing to marry a facially deformed, autistic, toothless, bald, 5'6", hearing impaired, arthritic agoraphobe with scoliosis living on social security. I'm 31 and I've never even had a friend. My expectation is that I'll live with my parents until they die, and then I'll probably freeze to death on the street.

"who's listening?" Nobody is listening. It's basically one step above screaming into a pillow (which I also do sometimes). I wish I had someone to talk to, but I don't and I never will. "...while everyone else moves on without you..." They did that twenty years ago. "If that alright with you" It's not, but I've learned that my desires are irrelevant. I really wanted to make friends in school, but that was impossible. I really wanted to get married and have kids, but that's impossible. Some peopl…

We never took part in any kind of community events. By the time I was born, most of my extended family had died or moved abroad. My parents aren't the friend-having type, and they certainly didn't want to spend any more time with their coworkers than they had to. My only real exposure to non-relatives was through public school. Because of my disabilities, it was impossible to interact normally. I just tried to keep my head down and get through the day with a minimum of violence, harassment, etc.

People can be victims of circumstance. Nobody is responsible for my disabilities, but I still have a right to complain about them. If I can derive some catharsis from whining about my pain, why wouldn't I vent? Nobody is making you listen to my whinging.

"Before you know it, a not insignificant portion of your life has passed you by" Isn't the whole goal of life to find entertaining ways to pass the time? Anger might not be the best emotion, but it's far from the worst.

I'm never entirely sure what people mean by "community." My neighbors don't seem to associate with each other. When I was working, my coworkers were as indifferent to one another as I was to them. I don't have any special affinity for members of my nationality, sex, race, generation, etc. I volunteered in animal shelters, homeless shelters, etc., but those experiences were essentially the same as a work environment. I definitely didn't derive any fulfillment from them.

There's a famous piece of WWII propaganda that says "Loose lips sink ships." The message of Titanic was "Leo simps, ship sinks."

I don't think I've ever been recommended anything OF-related. I occasionally get one of those "Beautiful Russian women want to talk to you!" banner ads, but that's pretty rare. I prohibit any kind of cookies, trackers, etc. in my browser, so the algorithms never know what to show me. Today, YouTube thinks I want to see a bunch of political bullshit. Yesterday, it was makeup tutorials. God knows what black-box machinations are happening behind the scenes.

I once left a good job because I had the opportunity to transfer to a better one. People sometimes leave good spouses because they have the opportunity transfer to someone more desirable. If the ability to unilaterally terminate a relationship is an unalloyed good, why bother with marriage at all? If your personal freedom is more important than long-term commitment, why contractually bind yourself to someone else?

Nobody cares about the "fabric of society." People do what they believe will benefit them. I agree that hierarchies are necessary for any kind of functioning civilization. But if I'm always going to be stuck on the bottom of the pile, I see no reason to give a shit about civilization beyond how it serves my personal needs. You want low-ranking members of society to learn their place so that they can better serve your desires. You don't care how that affects them. I want to extract maximum value …

Are insecurity and low self-esteem necessarily irrational? If Elon Musk spent all his time worried about impending homelessness, that would be unreasonable. But, wouldn't that same anxiety be totally understandable in the mind of someone stricken with poverty? I'm easily in the bottom decile of both physical attractiveness and social skills. On the odd chance that I could somehow start a relationship, wouldn't I be wise to have at least some suspicion? Why -- after 31 years of total ostracism --…

When I still thought I had a chance to have a family, I worked 50-60 hours per week. Once I realized that fatherhood was off the table, I moved back in with my parents and started collecting welfare. I went from producing ~$70,000 of wealth per year to being an exclusive consumer. That's obviously anecdotal, but I think it's just a more extreme version of what other men do. For some, it may mean reducing hours, working a less strenuous job, etc.

I regularly volunteer at animal shelters and homeless shelters. I donate to charity. I've always made an effort to be polite and kind to everyone. I exercise 5 days per week and try to eat a healthy, balanced diet. I dress as well as my budget allows. Life "blessed" me with: Autism A congenital facial deformity Hearing loss and tinnitus Juvenile arthritis Insomnia Asthma Decades of crippling loneliness Where is your proposed karmic balance?

These things don't work if your genetic ceiling is too low. I did everything you suggested for 8-10 years and never received any interest from women.

As I said in another comment, I taught myself calculus at age 9. I don't understand why people have a hard time with math. I don't even have to try. Some people are born dumb. That's not their fault. I was born ugly and autistic. That's not my fault.

"Do you have a severe medical condition?" Several. "Are you horribly disfigured?" Technically deformed, not disfigured. Do I have your permission to feel sad now, or should I continue pulling on my bootstraps?

"I taught myself differential calculus at age 9. If you're bad at math, you're not even trying!" OR -- hear me out -- maybe different people are born with different abilities. I'm good at math because I was born with an abnormally high level of intelligence. I'm bad with women because I was born with autism and a facial deformity.
