I agree, I feel like she may have been too kind here when it seems the guy needs a little kick to get motivated! She brings home the money and does the house work while he plays video games all day and disrespects her work? This is exactly it. Self soothing techniques, when mastered, are great tools to alleviate anxiety. Until then, don’t be afraid to use simple distractions too. It’s not a long term solution, but putting on a funny show or an interesting podcast can be good to get your mind off of it in the moment.

Yes omg you just described my whole last relationship. Relying on my ex as my sole source of attention and validation was like a shitty drug and I got so desperate when I couldn’t have it that it tore the relationship apart. I’ve been beating myself up over why I was like that but trying to accept that I should just learn and grow from it. Idk thank you for writing this out I appreciate not feeling so alone in it.
