49	Masculinity carries a negative connotation thanks to terms like “toxic masculinity” Masculinity has been shamed ever since I was born (I'm 38.) Back in my day it was negatively referred to as machismo or macho. In the generation before mine it was called chauvinism. Masculinity is always associated with negative attributes.
