/u/debestbabygirlll You couldn't have timed this post better. I'm probably about to "break up" with one of my friend groups because they are in complete denial that this is a problem (or that male rape is even a serious topic). This post and everyone's comments below are really validating.

Every single group I've been a part of has had no trouble talking about women's issues. It's just something people are free to talk about. But apparently even saying that I care about men too is misogynistic. I thought I'd be able to sleep it off, but a day later, I'm not sure I want to associate with people who think that my sexual assault is less significant because I'm a man. If this all were reversed, no one would fault a woman for closing the door on these people.

I'm so tired of this narrative that men can't suffer. Got into it with a woman in our group who said men can't be oppressed, I'm being cringe, and actually said "lol" when I mentioned that men are raped too. Never mind the insults and her "feeling" that I'm merely looking for ways to be oppressed. The only time I was rude was when I told her boyfriend "fuck off" after he said male rape victims don't matter as much as female rape victims. That was it. Other than that, my only sin was daring to sp…

About envious uncircumcised men, there are such individuals amongst your ranks And you have proof that these envious men are "the majority"? Remember, you aren't just saying these men are uncircumcised. You're saying that you know they're personal motivation. A few even impersonated unhappily circumcised men I'm aware of those screenshots. That was wrong and shitty of them, and like any false flag it undermines the validity of real people. Like, I have no way to prove to you that I'm not one of …

Haha I admit you got me here, at least on the sexuality part. I laughed when I saw that one of the subreddits in that list is simply, "balls." Looks like there is a correlation worth noting. However: rather because they are envious of men with a foreskin and long very strongly to experience it themselves This does not describe a fetish. This describes grief. I would agree from those subreddit trends that there is some fetishization involved as well, but that's not what is described here. The not…

I can confidently conclude that the vast majority of those people are envious uncircumcised men or circumcised homosexual men with a foreskin fetish Oh fuck off. You're so obsessed with research until it's time for you to throw out a wild assumption of your own. Just realized you're the guy who said this, too: "since people supporting circumcision are more likely to be doctors or scientists who do their research properly." All those European medical groups with statements against circumcision ar…

I think it's more that if they admit circumcision is bad, then they'd be admitting that their own sexual preferences are rooted in an evil act perpetrated on helpless babies. Also, many of them are mothers who unquestioningly had their own sons circumcised, and admitting that you've grievously harmed your own child at all (let alone on his genitals) is a tough pill to swallow.

On the one hand, it frustrates me very deeply that sometimes the only thing people care about is how it affects women. On the other hand, as a circumcised guy, I won't pretend like this isn't a part of my frustration too. I want to be a good partner because I care about the women I date. I was so frustrated in my first relationship when my gf and I both thought I was doing everything right, but we kept needing more and more lube. At first I thought I was just a bad lover, and she kept reassuring…

Hi. I'm really sorry you're feeling that way. I asked this question on another sub a while ago. Maybe you can find some useful advice there: https://np.reddit.com/r/askatherapist/comments/bv8c1u/how_to_raise_topic_of_circumcision_in_therapy/ I can't think of any good "screener" questions, unless you're willing to ask directly about circumcision in an email. Therapy is a bit like dating, so you'll need a bit of resolve to keep looking if the first therapist you find is insensitive, or just isn't …

I really appreciate this! I probably would've taken you up on that offer a few years ago, but I'm doing much better now. Thank you, though!

I also think we should discuss the issue itself. Have any of you suffered from this problem due to internalizing feminist rhetoric about male sexuality? I used to have something similar until I rejected feminism I wish I had found this thread when you first posted. I'm an ex-feminist dude and this stuff is so relatable to me. I had so much trouble being sexual with women, and every woman I sought out had their own sexual issues. I literally spent two years total dating two women and never had se…
