Again, I still think it's a kind of projecting. You would feel bad for not being sympathetic, and therefore you get angry with them. Just think about what it would be like if it was you in her place who had done that. It's beyond stupid to assume anyone who causes pain is a venomous, vindictive hell-spawn bent on ruining lives

I dont think you can draw that conclusion at all "we picked the seats and hoped no-one would sit there" does not equal "we set up a "no-girls allowed fort" but thats all besides the point. The 2 guys dont owe the woman anything and shouldnt move for her convenience if they dont feel like it

I mean when you've got a bunch of people yelling and who clearly just got in a fight, with accounts of a stabbing and beating, you kind of lock down the situation and get answers later, no? When someone says "That man stabbed me!" you don't calmly ask him for his side of the story, you lockdown all possible threats and make sure everyone is safe before getting the story, surely? Maybe im just an idiot, but I don't see a problem with neutralizing all involved first

At risk of being spammed with vitriol, I wouldn't say that this is so much of an "am I the asshole" kind of thing. Not entirely. There's a subconscious element to this, meaning that the girlfriend can't control it. I'm leaning to equating it to seeing a horribly diseased and disfigured person and being disgusted; it's a subconscious reaction, and not everyone has the mastery over themselves to overcome such a feeling. It really looks like the person who replied to the GF is kind of projecting(?)…
