Honestly I feel you've hit the nail on the head. It is still too early to tell, but I'm jotting these criteria down in my journal for future reference! 🙏

That's great advice, thank you.

That's true. I think I'll continue taking things slow and dating other people for a good bit longer. I really appreciate the advice!

That's kind of what I was thinking. On the other hand, I don't plan on having his children, or ever combining finances. My home is my own, and if I ever get married again I'll be getting a prenup. I don't plan on supporting a man, just myself, so I guess I'm not too worried about his finances affecting mine. I'm far too cautious to ever take on joint debt, or move in with someone before marriage, etc. So part of me wonders if it matters that much that he's entry level 🤷‍♀️

I'm an attorney so I sympathize on the stressful job! 😅 I would guess that you're software engineer career is much more complex than an hourly IT person, but I do see that this could be a good career that isn't dead end for him. I guess I'm just cautious about not "building" with a guy or buying into potential vs. Reality. However since we're still in our 20s I don't want to set overly prohibitive standards for success that don't serve me in finding the rare hvm.

Divorce is finalized, never giving my toxic, emotional terrorist of an ex the time of day again in spite of his late night desperation texts Working hard at my new job, applied to transfer my professional license to a new state for added income as well Starting to actually use my expensive gym membership lol Treat myself to nice things, instead of waiting to “deserve” them until I’m “perfect” (skinny, nice, happy, etc). Yay new iPad and pink sapphire earrings haha. I make good money, I should us…

I LOVE THIS. My divorce was finally finalized last week, and I’m having a local jeweler make me a pair of pale pink sapphire in white gold studs to celebrate 🥰

That's awesome! I know we all want what we can't have (in my case straight hair, height, and the ability to tan lol), but I love a tall confident woman who doesn't take shit from LVM! It's kinda my imaginary ideal me 😂

I agree with you. I do like my heels however because they make me feel authoritative at work lol. I'm 5'6, so if I wear my standard black 3 inch pumps, I'm eye level with a good number of men and I like owning that height 🥂

It's oddly a bit of a power move for me mental health wise to romsticise my independent, single state. Sitting in my office with a fresh coffee, dressed to the nines, nails done, getting organized for my morning meetings. Mornings like this when I'm in control make me never want to give another scrote the time of day 💅😎

THANK YOU. I had limited sexual experience before my ex husband, and the sex started out pretty great with him -- BUT it was like I was the frog introduced to room temp water and slowly boiled. By the time I filed for divorce he had to be blown to get hard, had trouble maintaining an erection, and could pretty much only get off to "lesbian" porn. Foreplay was a chore, and my orgasms were irrelevant. Also he was cheating on me.

My parents were this way too -- also my mom is fit and gorgeous while my dad is overweight and inactive. Both of my parents are really awesome people over all and very loving, but my mom putting up with my dad gave me the expectation that I should put up with BS in my marriage too (spoiler: I'm divorced).

My Dad, while not a perfect man, was actually great in never sexualzing my clothes. He'd actually side with me over my mother's very strict rules (no shoulders can show in church, skirts below the knee, necklines high up to collarbone etc) and tease her with "Oh shoulders are fine, it's ELBOWS that lead men to sin" then crack up laughing 😂 my dad is pretty much my best friend now that I'm late 20s and we work in the same industry. Everyone should watch the actual film, Gaslight, with Ingrid Bergman that spawned the term. It's a great movie, and Bergam is such a beautiful talented actress. The NVM husband played by Charles Boyer is truly despicable.

I am child free. I have never had the desire to have bio kids, especially after helping raise my younger siblings. I've always said that if I want kids when I'm older I will be a foster parent/adopt -- there are plenty of children who need loving, functional, stable homes in the system. And when I try to picture myself as a mother, it's me at 45 happily single with my awesome career and a 10 year old who is no longer stuck in the abusive American foster care system, getting an amazing education …

[In my experience:] OLD for a straight woman is like being a piece of meat on display at the supermarket. Except you're not the grade A, usda choice steak a shopper has to ask the butcher to wrap up for him -- you're a pork chop in a package of similarly sad pork chops who has intentionally stuck a "managers discount special!!" sticker on herself and gets manhandled/looked over by every grubby, cheap bastard that walks down the crowded-as-fuck aisle. ...That is all.

I'm a white woman who previously worked with abused children & children in foster care in the legal prosecution/court room arena. Because of this I've been very open with partners and friends about my intention to eventually be a foster parent/adopt an underprivileged child when I'm older and very stable. At this point, I'm pretty sure that will happen as a single parent by choice, because most men are shit. My LVM ex once mentioned that he'd be fine adopting a kid but theyd have to be the "same…

The idea that "men will like you if you're confident" or you'll magically get more male attention when you are in a mentally good place/ feeling confident is an outright lie in my opinion. Here's why: High value people are attracted to class and confidence and others that are secure in their own value. LVMs are magnetically drawn to self doubt and insecurity because it is easier to take advantage of. Oh you're recovering from trauma and having issues just getting through a normal day? Hate the w…

This is true, but hopefully a protest can still have an impact. We have had SOME progress in the last 100 years -- women gained the right to vote, and in America its only been the last 50 years that POC haven't been kept from voting by Jim crow laws (although our fuckface conservative politicians are trying to bring back even more draconian voting restrictions...ugh). I am optimistic that change can be made if women band together in solidarity for the cause.

No, naturally not, but the fact we don't even have a male BC yet points to the ingrained anti-woman bigotry within medicine.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/05/21 11:14 AM

Discouraging us from banding together is I think a big motivation behind the "girls make such catty friends!!" Narrative. Such a lie. Sure personalities can conflict between any two people of either sex, but your girl friends aren't just hanging out with you hoping you'll give in & sleep with them. They, you know, actually want to be your friend.

I am still waiting for mine to be finalized, but I can tell you my life has DRASTICALLY improved since filing & separating last fall! SO DRAMATIC 🙄 LVM come in all races/religions/ethnicities, so how the fuck is refusing to reproduce with them "genocide"? Also it's not killing anyone....you cannot die from lack of sex 😂 Honestly the fact that we don't have male birth control pills yet is already more than enough to piss me off. I'm avoiding sex in part because my body reacts poorly to hormonal forms of birth control, there's only ONE outdated option for a non hormonal iud in the US, and since I'm under 30 without kids no docto…

For myself at least, its so easy to realize the importance of high standards when you imagine a younger female relative having to undergo the trials & tribulations we see posted here everyday, or the nonsense we each individually already put up with in our own lives. Imagining my younger sister in my shoes, and how I would advise her of her value and rights, is the mental trick I've found most successful to getting over my "women must sacrifice for love!" societal brainwashing.

Well said! If the males of a species cannot earn the attention of the females, they're either going to evolve in order to successfully mate, or go extinct.

No children, no marriage, no sex. We must protest to see real change. Men are so mad that they now have to compete with us in college, the work place, politics, etc -- fine, you see this as a competition? You want to out law abortion and refuse to jail rapists? Defund planned parenthood and decrease access to contraceptives? Shackle our sisters to no value partners via forced motherhood? Us vs them because you don't even see women as "people"? Then good luck having your own babies with that sex …

Firstly, I do own way too much makeup 🤦‍♀️ I have a drawer full when I really only "need" a small bag. But I do agree that it's performative and sexist that I feel the need to wear it for my career as an executive. Men don't cover up their acne or dark circles, or get asked if they're sick/tired if they don't hide their under-eye bags. My (sad) compromise is to ignore trends I don't like the looks of (for example, contouring, garish eyeshadow, drying matte lipsticks) and refuse to wear anything …

I don't know your situation, but with mine quietly separating your life from his to the most complete extent possible was great for my sanity. No communication not required by the divorce process, total separation of our lives and assets, block/delete on all social media -- completely cut him out. I quickly found that every time my ex would text me about how sad he is to be selling our former home, misses me, etc, if I responded at all (no matter in what tone/how) it only ended up with me feelin…

He threw a tantrum and threatened saying he wanted a divorce (over text message...). I called him on it, packed up, moved out, and filed. Of course now he "didn't really mean it" and "was just mad at me" and "can't believe you really did this to us", but I'm never putting up with that bs again.

My ex was so big on "witholding" and "forgetting" as described in this book. That's why it was so very hard to recognize what was causing my (diagnosed!) Anxiety after we'd been together a few years. The constant distance he insisted on keeping, lack of emotional investment/reciprocity, promises he "wouldn't remember"/ I "must have made up". And he blamed me for the increase in my stress and drinking alcohol/poor coping. I was so f-ing lonely & isolated and constantly stressed/uncertain. When co…

As female humans, we are oppressed because of our biological sex -- the health risk of maternal mortality bearing children, being vulnerable to forced pregnancy through rape, missing school in developing countries monthly due to menstruation. All women are vulnerable to this oppression regardless of sexual orientation or social non/conformity. The patriarchal construct around sex designed to oppress us further is "gender" -- wearing makeup required of women to work in a law office, the wage gap,…

I don't understand why "kink shaming" is a bad thing. Women get shamed for wearing revealing clothes, shame for wearing too modest clothes, shame for wearing makeup, shamed for not wearing makeup, shame for having too much sex, shame for not having enough sex -- its endless. I will shame a man for getting off on choking a woman, or enjoying causing her pain. It disgusts me, and that is the normal reaction rational humans will have. Girl, first of all SO FALSE - I am a ~19 bmi woman the color of printer paper 😂 and the only other friend I've ever caught browsing this sub is a TINY biracial girl, so regardless these LVMs are just racist, but also I'm sure any our members who might be approximating that offensive description are amazing people way too good for their whiny, crusty asses 🙄 but nooooo, we "should give unattractive 'nice' guys a chance"!

Ooo out of curiosity (if you're comfortable elaborating), why? 😯😶 I've been with 2 uncircumcised guys, one if which was utterly unremarkable (I was quite young and inexperienced, so perhaps that factored in), but one who was literally a god at giving head 😅 to the extent that the rest of his performance was basically icing on the cake haha. I saw that movie also. It was disturbing that the woman reading the novel sent to her without her request by the NVM ex who she'd left for his lack of ambition/ practical motivation/ refusal to grow up in life is villianized for - among other things - making smart, less idealistic career choices and choosing to end a pregnancy when her marriage is falling apart.
