Two problems, the dad one is the big one. That sucks, sorry. Fixating on internet noise might just be you trying to refocus from the cognitive dissonance about your dad. It’s definitely a way some people cope with stuff in life, to find and obsess over negative online discourse. In this sub it’s usually men who go around angry women mouthing off online and use that to deal with their romantic frustration irl. They are a very loud minority, too big of a minority but still a minority.

Unless you’re trying to get with all the people at once it doesn’t really matter if 1% of the population or 70% of the population are into you. Like 98% of the population isn’t worried about bringing home someone with ‘model looks’ but if they were I think Pete Davidson has literally done modeling LOL. You take it like a game where you can win more points or something, it’s more like either having the challenge of fewer or more people being into you. It’s not about your looks, it’s about your wh…

Women who choose those relationships and redpill views want their husband to be their proxy, in charge of select parts of the total household needs. If there is redpill women that aren’t on a tradwife kick it’s my ignorance of that type of person. OP’s question was worded confusingly and a lot of adjacent topics are confusingly in play at once. Of course it’s not ‘the women’ who want to ‘be controlled’, I’m saying the ones who choose that ideology are actively choosing that outcome.

Your English isn’t making these questions easy, not 100% what you’re asking but here’s a summary... People follow ideology because life is messy and they want answers. Young people are anxious about coupling off and respond to cultural messaging that makes it seem like we’re all supposed to couple off and raise a family. The women are either continuing on and trading a dominating father for a husband and therefore never having to be independent else they grew up in chaos and want the certainty o…

I don’t know which women you hear this from, but we don’t respect them. Acting like any way of doing life is the good one and others bad is just stupid. It’s a sign of a small-minded person who hasn’t really thought for themselves or considered anyone besides themselves.

How else would you describe how this guy alleges his friend fixates? It’s his interpretation of a friend’s view on these women, that they have ‘the looks’. In so doing, he artificially restricts his odds of meeting women he would actually be interested in. Frankly, dating app culture has some gamified elements that make it addictive and fuck with people’s heads leading to weird behaviors of all sorts. Not to mention how advertising and pornography rewire our sexual response to some extent as wel…

If he’s super shallow anyway then he doesn’t really need matches. Let him keep shooting and missing with conventionally beautiful ladies who won’t give him the time of day. If he starts talking like some misogynist blaming the women who ignore him for his troubles in life that would be the time to lay into him about his superficiality lol. What can happen to anyone with the apps is that, eventually, some people you think are appealing find you appealing. If that’s not happening for him, it’s up …

You don’t know what ‘objectively’ means!! It’s not what some creep says it is, but seduction is a thing. Grooming, body language, fashion/style, fitness— they’re part of your first impression on ‘looks’ but not a story of your genetic lottery. Regardless, even doing all of those impression making things badly and having unfortunate facial features/body type whatever else men worry about on their looks which they can’t control— in spite of any of that— romance is still possible even if it is less…

Long-term partnered sex is about both y’all getting better with the other. Every time you eat chocolate cake you are not inclined to think about the cheesecake you ate on vacation that one time. Only a person with that miserable flaw of comparing backwards would ever have an issue with what you fear. If you think this is so common, aren’t you the one comparing your would-be partner to past sexual encounters?

Sex is a physical not a chemical change lol. We don’t get sex ghosts, it’s aaaaall in the past and meaningless.

Knowing someone is bad news means not having up to date quotes from them. However, he clearly has a toxic narcissistic lifestyle to the point of various crimes against people in his circle. Why should young men look to a crazy man/criminal for advice? Influencers don’t really have much substance, they just produce pleasant or titillating content so that the audience becomes comfortable and they can slip in either advertising influence or their dumb ideas. He’s just some guy, an asshole and a cri…

Probably one of those arguments that can help someone early in the path to challenge some of their contradictions but it reads like you’re discussing breeds of cattle… Also, some women are definitely single later in life because of a ‘problem’ and not just a disinterest in dating. You don’t need to factor in gender to describe someone’s dating prospects, we sort of all fit archetypes of which our social identity just forms the ‘color text’ specifics. You’re parroting their biggest mistake in fla…

Show interest but keep it light and casual, like I wrote? Friendzone is an invention of men. It’s men not accepting that a woman likes them but doesn’t feel attracted to them. You know what your woman friend can do? Set you up with another woman she thinks would make a good match for you. Nobody stumbled into RP from a position of strong, suave social skills. I’m talking among us here.

You’re doing the thing where you act like ‘females’ are space aliens who are all the same. Don’t do the thing! The short answer is somewhere in between. Show interest but keep it light and casual. Easiest path to romance is being friends first, especially for the types of men who end up here and have limited social skills.

The story was in your other post, wasn’t about you she just got spooked from hooking up. You should check your process, like were you pushy or anything like that, but most likely it was just her having a moment and you don’t have to take it so personally.

Redpill and feminist are not that kind of opposites. Feminist means no more than treating men and women equally. It was named feminist because of the history of the culture which named it, the Abrahamic religions and English were very sexist against women until very recently. Now they’re only moderately sexist against women. If you look into feminism, you will see arguments about how all of these rules and expectations harm people, especially the ones who don’t easily fit gender expectations. Wh…

The error in these types of self-hating lines of thought is taking something true at a population level (dating easier if hot) exaggerating it and making it the ONLY factor. Taking something abstract that partly describes the world, like ‘social hierarchy’ and making it this all-encompassing and strictly ruled thing which it is not. Boys like you start with this grand assumption that you are not enough because your people haven’t loved you right to this point. The content only enhances own negat…

Did you just assume my gender, bro? No menses here. I don’t want to play ‘which gender has it harder’ because it’s a misleading oversimplification. You must have at least heard of the concept of intersectionality? Whatever identity you have there will be parts that are nice and parts that suck. Different combinations unlock unique experiences, like with race/body type/age/etc combinations with gender. What if, instead of where you’re at with this stuff… What if some ‘people’ (notice, not even ge…

Yup, it’s all the dang time with W-. Clearly a case of embracing the grievance rather than challenging their redpill core values. It’s so weird to think about ‘men’ and ‘women’ abstractly in the rp way, lack of consideration for individuality when romance/sex are so personal/individual! Flattening the world of romance as such is one clear sign of redpill mentality.

You’re delusional with your little buckets and ‘straight men want this, straight women want that’ bullshitting. Everybody wants what they want. Some of the value of being checked out should track even if it’s not someone you want to be with who is checking you out it’s a validation. It just makes you a real jerk to the literal millions of women who are struggling to get a date. Could they get some nasty greasy man they aren’t attracted to to fuck them? Yeah, but so could you. The average woman also likely doesn’t have any women checking her out! The thing you don’t get is right here where you say abusive men ‘lose out’ in a feminist world. Are you sure? What really is their life playing ‘toxic man’? Having to live forever in a cognitive dissonance that you ‘deserve’ to be put before others? Always worrying they will face something like the oppression they push on others? Why do you assume so little of men that you claim we’d all be ‘better off’ in a world with this mix of oppression? You say we should want to be trapped in a prison in o…

Hey you might want to actually learn about feminism from non-rp folks. Will some misandrist asshole woman online exist and label herself a feminist? Sure, but feminism itself is literally as simple as gender equality. It is in no way the ‘other side of the coin’ to RP.

It’s a strawman for the right. The militia movement is 100x bigger with the right than the left (which isn’t into crap like titles or rank or that sort of organizational stuff that right-wingers like) so the right-wing media act like ‘antifa’ is ‘coming to get them’ as an excuse for ‘patriots’ to play militia man and bring guns to the park or whatever.

If you’re open to it, an epistemological solution to this problem would be for you to recognize your own inability to comprehend the relative joy/blessings of others based on social media posting. Believe it or not, people who ‘have it all’ can and do suffer. Frankly suffering is always more about us and our shaping experiences we carry than what is actually happening in the moment.

if you want to hook up so bad stop worrying about numbers and go try to hook up. From a satisfaction perspective it doesn’t make a huge difference how often you do it, but the aggrieved entitlement you’re holding around causal sex that backs a sketchy ‘facts’ post. You’ve caught yourself up on an untrue idea that makes men like you feel shittier/angrier. Do you want to be focused on this stuff, do you want to spend your time thinking about sexual encounter stats?

There’s two separate things to tell you: one is that you don’t necessarily ‘deserve’ a romantic partner, you can get one or not like anybody else. Sure it ranges in difficulty, I bet you’re not on ‘hardest setting’. Two, you’re the one who is fixated on this ‘less than’ narrative. I know plenty of people who were always or mostly single that are great, admirable for their qualities people. If you want to get better socially this sub would 100% help, but you seemingly just want to complain?

Nah, I’m literally arguing for you to have an internalized game of what makes you valid as a man instead of relying on what others think because that is unreliable. Look at this comment again, you talk about ‘getting women to be seen as a successful man’— whose eyes are you really in? Maybe don’t base your validity as a man on if women you don’t even talk to seem dtf? Come on man, I’m not saying it’s not real but it’s you vs you here and the women are a prop. Dig deep and get at the real stuff. You need a regular model of masculinity to try and embody. Having your self-worth based on your perceptions of the opinions of others is a recipe to let the depression and negative thoughts dominate your mind.

You’re someone who previously considered killing themselves over being single and you can’t appreciate the wisdom of making peace with something you can’t really control? I would suggest that if you are the world’s kindest incel that there are additional personality traits and all manner of skills besides those which make you a good friend or son that would make you attractive. The horror of your question is you apparently do not recognize the bounds of your own attraction, or you aren’t picking up on personality traits in women that make them seem desirable to you. There is all kinds of dating advice which isn’t exactly RP but relies on the same basic assumptions that overemphasize gender in identity and social interaction. Acting over-earnest during the infatuation stage of early romance can be seen as a turn off, it’s best to wait until it is mutual and allow both partners time to be the escalator of the relationship. A non-redpill (non-people flattening into basic ‘boys/girls’ dating nonsense) view would be to consider what the person you took on a firs…

I agree mostly but some really ‘smart’ women want to follow an authoritarian daddy-husband. Granted, they aren’t seeking men who would describe themselves as redpill just a certain class of authoritarian social strivers/important men. Those women hold the candle of their ego in a belief that they are a critical part of their man’s public character and therefore they can stick to mastery of social customs to support his ambitions. You seem extremely insightful, couldn’t agree more with the lines along which you dispelled the nonsense. Redpill counts on listeners/readers letting down their intellectual guard, so to speak. Thats what’s up with the bro-y podcasts, the pseudo-psychology, the community aspects— all classic techniques for disinformation to radicalize. Your (not an insult) neurotic feelings on this topic imply you are much less likely to be the problem. It’s great that you’ve learned to interact with women like people in a regular way by putting this feeling aside. I’d agree that lonely men is not a specialty area for many therapists, but they’re pretty much all golden for grief/trauma. This is probably better done with the help of a paid therapist. Losing 4 friends in a 7 month period is a traumatic experience, if these felt like 4 major losses in quick succession I can see how that might cause someone to spiral or stress. Honestly you’re factually wrong about the propensity of bears to kill humans for food. Beyond that, nobody here is surprised in the least that YOU feel victimized by women’s experience of fear of men. For most of us the idea of taking a little effort to come off as less threatening to women who feel anxious around men because of the horrors they’ve experienced or are 1-2 degrees of separation away from just isn’t a big deal at all. What a shame that other men have done this shit!

Your description is plenty, that’s all wild. Relationships are just you and another person acting human toward each other. All of this noise is kooky and bad advice, they usually involve a germ of something sort of reasonable then blow up way too far it to the n’th degree. Courtship should be mutual.

The nuance you’re missing lies in the whole frame you apply to this ‘men this, women that’ mindset. I don’t know where women post about being ‘pumped and dumped’, but having hookups not turn into relationships when that’s what she wanted would have nothing to do with how hot the guy was. Nothing signifies you’re lost so much as worrying about what people say about what you say vs what someone else says.

100% try the therapy, it’s going to be more productive now that you’re not in that bottomed out state from before. I downvoted this but I do agree how being particularly ugly makes everybody a bit less nice and some people having that experience end up less nice for it. Being super hot makes everybody nicer to you, and that can also make someone less nice. Neither of those define romance and dating, especially not for OP who has a big circle of good relationships. What redpill does is like a horoscope. It gives you a massive list of physical flaws that nearly every man (even the hottest celebrities) could say they have something ‘wrong’ and then fixate on that as an excuse to hate yourself. Even bigger as a determinant of someone finding you attractive is how you handle yourself. Certainly some number of potential partners can rule you out for having certain physical traits they don’t like, but the difference between no opinion and attracted has to do wit…

The actual deeper truth beneath this truth is that giving up prejudice is something a person does for themself. It’s a personal challenge not to let our ape brains turn everybody into an us/them dichotomy. It’s worthwhile to not turn to hating the other as a group because of the violence that hate does in our own souls. The kindest thing I can say to the men making these posts is that certainly other men who haven’t turned to hate women as much as they have may have in fact become that way as we…

You have to remember OP is talking to the audience here and specifically a trend of posts about how sexy men get away with misogyny. They get away with it by masking. The reason you can’t let this RP/incel stuff go is that you feel entitled to sex/romance and can’t handle the frustration of that drive. What do you mean by you can’t approach women? It’s okay to show interest, you’re only ‘that guy’ if you bring it to inappropriate contexts and won’t heed soft rejections. There’s a difference between being persistently interested in a person who shows at least some reciprocity and threateningly persistent toward someone clearly disinterested; but moreover if you never ask anyone on a date that will literally never work, right?

In the sentence ‘I want to lose my virginity.’ The woman you want to have sex with isn’t even included. She is a literal means for accomplishing your goal for yourself of having the sex. Can you explain what about that is a ‘logical leap’? We’d be saying that wanting to be with an actual woman in your life and wanting to have been with an abstract woman as some mark of y…

Misogyny isn’t the barrier to casual sex, it’s the barrier to short to long term dating that potentially involves sex. Could say the same about any negative trait in women, as long as they’re not loudly racist the hot sjw man might hook up with them lol. The vast majority of people are going to have a smaller number of sexual partners and have sex from dating. Once you’re in RP it’s clear the hookup game was never and could never be for you, because you lack social skills. We talk about he misog…

For the third or fourth(?) time, you need to enroll in some sort of therapeutic program to deal with these feelings. You’re obsessed, posting about these negative thoughts every couple days because they dominate your life. There’s advice we can give, like “comparison is the thief of joy,” but it won’t work because you’re too committed (not on purpose, not your fault) to this negative spiral about how unattractive you are. What is up with this friend group if you never get to feel relief on these…

No, this is the third post of yours I’ve read and responded to this week. I gave two much more detailed responses previously and you ignored them both. If you’re for real, you need to be working with a professional. You have deeply ingrained negative views, we can’t twist those on a Reddit thread.

Once again I am here asking you to enroll in talk therapy. No answer on Reddit will stop you doing this 24/7 obsession about the sex you’re not having. Hooking up with someone and learning they were in a relationship would feel terrible. So would having women mad at each other because you’re hooking up with them. I don’t know why you feel that casual sex is the place to get your validation as a man, it’s not the place!

You’re still a ‘normal person’ even if you’re bad at certain forms of social communication. You want to be certain it’s your looks that are the problem because you don’t want to find the gaps in your behavior. You’d blame yourself if you were bad at flirting or bad at nonverbal romantic communication but if it’s ’looks’ that isn’t your fault. The thing is that you are not the best assessor of your own struggle for romance, or your own social performance, or your own looks. Romance is about compa…

I don’t see the part where she is interested in you. Sounds like your mutual friend wants that to be the case, but unless y’all are 15 years old grown women don’t send smoke signals through mutual friends when interested. It would be one thing if your mutual friend said ‘she is interested, she told me’ but if she’s just suggesting ‘now is your chance’, to me, that sounds like still most likely she’s not into you.

Can you explain the context of the all caps comment here? I get it, one of the main pipelines to RP content is being not-so neurotypical and struggling with social stuff. If you want to learn social stuff, do it with a therapist who is a feminist. This overwrought advice from RP influencers barely works in your early 20’s. Grown women don’t want misogynists as partners, the content shows you how to flirt or notice women flirting or whatever but it simultaneously teaches you a ton of BAD habits. …

Okay, but if you already know those goals wtf are you still watching for? The whole game is sneaking in nonsense behind the self-improvement part. You want to make yourself a catch? Great. I feel like worst case is she likes you being a bit jealous, which would be immature but then again you’re dating someone 4 years younger so go figure. I just read your post history. It’s stressful! You need to get yourself right before working on social relationships. Have you been working with a therapist? From my experience in this community I can sort of recognize two types of RP man— one is a youth/young adult who tries it for a year or two tops (looking for how to get a date, basically) and drops it, the other is a lifer. Ten years? You’ll find very, very few here who were in it that long and left. You say yourself, he was only able to stop two days? There is no happy future for you with this man. The key emotions to look for are disgust/outrage. A good question to ask is if they listen to any podcasts and what those are about, or ask them about the news and if they watch/read. Talk therapy, I’m sorry but there’s no way we can comment away your negative thought spirals here on Reddit. They make money off of YOU thinking they are successful. Your context is their social media which is designed to appeal to you by projecting ‘success’ with women. I want to respond to you about this but can you help me understand what you mean by your own ‘low confidence’. It’s hard to tell what traits you mean with that because some are much more problematic for romance than others. It’s hard to feel sexually attracted if a man can’t look at/speak to you, but maybe that’s not the type of low confidence you’re referring to? Long hours, abusive labor practices of internship and residency, chaos of match, extra schooling for specialty— it’s like ~10 years of an intense type-a competitive lifestyle. It makes your school career the center of family life for those 10 years, you pretty much always have to move during the process first to the school then to your match then to your first job. “It makes me feel put-off when you talk so much about how you are attracted to celebrities and models.” It could easily be unconscious/subconscious but it could also be an intentional strategy to make you feel bad about your appearance. Guess what, the version of you more focused on those things and taking time to make connections with and be kind to women would end up having some sex. This is one of those things that’s obvious to people that aren’t obsessed. Lusting in the comment sections has nothing to do with people’s actual sex lives. You hate your penis, you hate you appearance, you hate yourself for reasons that have nothing to do with other people. Healthy women are not fixated on body details. Not every time a speaker puts words to a concept is that concept accurate. We’re telling you here that RP is a cultural thing including this ‘competition’ narrative about romance. One of the most common RP propaganda strategies is to take real scientific concepts and apply them to completely unrelated fields. Romance is about two (or more) adults agreeing that they want to do xyz intimate activities together, it’s a type of relationship all parties agree to based on the rules they think count in…

Street epistemology, but you have to be decent at rhetoric or it can’t really work. Probe their beliefs, get them talking, ask how committed they are to these ideas and if there is anything that would change their mind. It’s a whole process, over many conversations on their terms and they can’t feel like you’re out to get their ideas.

These comments cover the main thing already, but more important let’s say for the sake of argument your partner is the worst woman ever and would do this. Wouldn’t you rather it just be done and you could then go meet someone else? If she would drop you like nothing for some ‘bigger, better’ man you’d be better off without her. When someone is with you, it’s because they want to be with you. Good job fighting this intrusive thought.

Rape is rape, toxic masculinity is a lot of other stuff. It’s not just masculinity, it’s the chauvinism that goes with it. If you can’t see it that’s on you, RP content will certainly propagandize you into these views without you realizing it if you are not aware.

What are the terms of that self-improvement? If it’s RP content they are not to face your self/past/actions and think of how they impact others. It is self-focused and self-ending, make yourself as ‘great’ and powerful as you know you are because your current form is shit. Individual self improvement itself is a belief system, fits toxic masculine/capitalist hyper-individuality. Okay, the past matters. I don’t consider consenting adults having sex to be problematic in any way. Yeah I just don’t see what’s shameful about any consenting sex. I like having sex, I’m grateful my wife does too and would want any lover I had to be into sex. It’s so weird how people get ashamed of their animal nature, we have all this reward circuitry in the brain for the fuckin’ and as long as my potential partner wasn’t a rapist there’s no amount of past sex that would matter to me. Whores are people who have sex for money, not people who are attracted to multiple genders or more partners. Also RP nonsense that it would be bad if a woman you were romantic with was into sex! Neither a woman nor a man needs to be any particular way, you have a partner you’re really into and it sucks that RP has you tricked into thinking a partner having had sex in the past means anything bad for today.

Honestly, only if you’re a real dick would unfairness be the feeling you have finding your adult child wasn’t your bio kid. You adopted without knowing it and loved them for 18+ years, you’d go to a little therapy and in the end while you can feel betrayed by the partner you got to raise this kid up and have all that love in your life. It’s the papa/padre(?) or dad/father line, you’re the man that raised them and that means infinitely more than being the man who knocked up their mom.

If an adult person ‘wants to submit’ as their lifestyle, to me, that’s psychological dysfunction. Do they not have executive functioning skills to make their own decisions? I think many of them are just repeating what they feel required to tell men based on their life experiences. That increased comfort and for some young men just learning that women are people (lol or is it too sad?) is a major step. They like it because it’s a double excuse, this is why nobody loves me AND this is why it’s okay if I’m awful to women. I don’t believe it applies to relationships for regular people. There is pretty much only ‘chemistry’, which can be boosted by your traits but isn’t just those traits. Some people convince themselves that their partner is a status symbol, those ones probably are the ones who fit your small worldview but not your average couple, they just got to know each other and have a mutual appreciation and attraction.

There are more options for intimate relationships than pair-bonding. If you really want a life-partner you’d do well to meet a lot of different people and try and get to know as many as possible. I’d also suggest that ‘exceptional personality’ is a ‘card’ just like the others, but if you have it you can definitely parlay it into a stable partnership if that’s what you really want.

You have unrealistic expectations for how compatible two people should ever be. Part of what makes cross-gender relationships interesting are some of the common differences in patterns of thought between women and men. One person will be more cautious, the other will worry about money more, one will be punctual and the other need to arrive early— all these kinds of normal human differences that aren’t flaws but get in the way of being on the exact same page on everything. Except you consider all women who are overweight to be categorically unattractive. Do you mean seriously obese not overweight? Okay, so you’re finding that women who are overweight are more likely to want a second date with you than the thin women you like? Women in the ‘overweight’ category, to me, are way more attractive because they’re likely to enjoy food (must have in a partner) and not vain/more focused on their appearance than living. You’re not objective, there really isn’t objective attractiveness beyond the rare person we’d all agree is especially beautiful or ugly. Online dating is weird, sounds like you should stay away. There are no agreed upon standards of attractiveness, our brains literally look for mates that seem a good genetic fit for us. I don’t think those are the same people. Actual feminism covers a reframing of the boundaries and requirements of gender which would benefit men greatly as well. Find a sincere, academic source about the goals of feminism if you actually want to understand. The schools I have worked at have had about a 50/50 ratio of male to female custodians. I think a lot of women choose teaching because it allows them to care for their kids while working, I’m a man but that was one of my top 5 reasons as my partner has crazy hours I needed something where I could watch the kids.
