All love leads to pain. I’m not trying to be edgy or existential, but relationships either end with a breakup or death. You cannot love people and completely eliminate risk. The more you close yourself off, the harder it will become to change that pattern in the future. (This never means you are doomed, just…if you are able to prevent a cycle from developing you save yourself time and energy and heartache.) You should look for a community mental health option, they should have low cost/sliding s…

You can do this. Professional support might be useful. Stay away from content creators who profit from your insecurities.

It sounds like you could benefit from a good trauma-informed antiracist therapist, like you could use support with developing social skills, processing trauma, and building an emotional support network. By social skills, I’m talking more about “how to tell people to fuck off professionally” and how to report harassment at work, not like basic interpersonal relationships. There is a huge gulf between martyrs like Dr. King (not like he had a choice, anyway) and your everyday just trying to get alo…

Are you trustworthy? Does the number of sexual partners you have had mean you are less trustworthy? (Flip the thought to maybe YOU want a lots of casual sex phase, because you don’t have that experience—does that mean you would cheat?)

Reasonable approach, and think we can frame it minus the subtextual slut shaming? My apologies if I’m seeing something you didn’t actually put out there.

With you on hoping for happiness for people, or at least life without the oppressive shame of being the “wrong” kind of person (this extends far beyond rp issues, ofc.) One area prostitution can (occasionally/potentially) help with is getting men practice with women. It’s an unusual path to seeing women as people, but it certainly can work. Spending time practicing intimacy, not just sex, with professionals can build confidence and social skills. I’ve also observed some people get warped by the …

A healthier gender neutral way to look for red flags could be basic psychological knowledge/education? I’m also curious about the intersection between rp content and capitalism —not so much with regard to grifters making money, but the heavy emphasis on personal value equating to income and wealth accumulation. That is certainly a dominant social value, but you don’t have to buy into it.

Human interaction isn’t a game, unless your only goal is to score points against others in an endless cycle of nihilism. If you want authentic human relationships and intimacy (most of us do) you have to stop with games and risk vulnerability and rejection. It’s hard and there are no shortcuts.

True for sure. When your brain tells you people don’t make eye contact with you because of how you look, remind your brain a) it can’t read minds and b) one reason is never the whole truth. And check in with yourself—does tour brain always tell the truth? My brain can be a big liar when nervous or anxious or trying to protect me.

Girls are anxious and awkward too! So are adults and kids and old people.

You are a worthy and valuable person, just as you are. When you are able to believe this, and trust that your value holds no matter what you look like you will start to heal. I’m sorry humans value appearance so much, I know it is hard to believe in intrinsic value when you can SEE people rewarded for being attractive what seems like all the time. Aside from therapy (almost everyone could benefit from therapeutic support at some point in their lives) are there activities that you value as bringi…

You are worth a happy relationship, you deserve love not abuse. You can leave and not deal with her anymore. The peace of being alone will be soothing after a chaos relationship.

Neither of these details have anything to do with your worth as a person or your contributions as a partner. If a genie popped out and offered you a wish, my hope is that you would wish to stop thinking about this. When you click with a person who is right for you, you'll see how much this doesn't matter. I know it's hard to believe, but it is the boring truth.

Are you up for volunteering? That might help you get in touch with finding purposes for yourself (you don't have to choose just one).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
