1	A feminist asks for your help. All of that is true, but there is a gender pay gap just by looking at the statistics. Women ask for raises less, negotiate less, and ask for less when taking a job, and all of that alone can make a pay gap in jobs that aren't dominated by women or by men. 1	A feminist asks for your help. But the pay gap is true--in Illinois alone, women earn about 71 cents per every dollar a man earns. And most women are underpaid because they're expected to leave the work force in 2-3 years to have children. But why should women sacrifice pay because they want to have kids later? Maybe employers think that women are more expensive to employ because if they decide to have kids, they'll need maternity leave, so therefore they pay them less.
