No problem. No offense taken

Not according to my therapist.

It's a reasonable of an expectation as women wanting to be seen as a human being. Honestly, I think we all need to do to anyone we meet.

But I am sure you love a good meme.

Well, you can appeal to the gynarchy. In the same nebulous way that women assume there is some central body that men can make a motion to fix the patriarchy and rape culture to make men behave better, you're assuming there is something that can be done to get women to be accountable. Good luck in finding them.

If you think of life in those transactional terms, you're going to get nowhere. But by all means you do you

Lol, I wasn't sure, but I was leaning towards a guy based on some of the comments and the snarkiness.

Ok this thread makes more sense.

In my experience, men talking to men about it is founded on the hope that just talking to them can help them learn from the experience. Men don't talk to women unless they are family. I talk to my daughter about it because I want her to be a better person. But women reinforcing bad behavior in other women is bad. If you do not want to be held accountable like women, act unaccountable; eventually, everyone worth having close to you will give up. Problem solved.

What I am arguing for is you being the best person that you can potentially be for your sake. Learn mature coping strategies like sublimation for dealing the gaps in life that everyone experiences, not because it absolves others of responsibility. But because life is imperfect and either you or it needs to change, and spoiler, life isn't going to change, and you need to find fulfillment where can.

There are consequences for not being accountable. If people are doing this for women, they aren't doing them any favors. Reality in the end is a great equalizer. What you skip out on paying at one point always comes back with interest.

Can you really be surprised that women want agency?

I guess. But if you can't evolve beyond that either because of a lack of will or capacity that's really on you. That drive might have served us well when every fiber of our being was focused on having the next generation of humans and our life expectancy was in our 30s. But we are at a point where our individual development beyond being breeding livestock has much more profound impact on our survival as a species. Acting like a petulant child that expects sex because of some biological role that…

Is it possible that the current experience is influenced by two sides that are so convinced that they are right that they are doubling down and just making the situation worse? Something I realized when I became a single parent in my 30s, was that the notion that women loved single dads was a myth. I could have been resentful about it, but that would have been on me. I figured out what worked for me and made the best of it. Fanatics have always been around mucking stuff up. Driven by emotions th…

eh, as you get old you realize that you are finite and you figure out that you have to pick your efforts wisely based on likely outcomes.

Maybe for you. I am close to 60 and am seeing the opposite.

I am close to 60, so I came of age in the 80s and even though in many ways the sexes had more to complain about each other, I know there was less toxicity. I was also an early adopter and have been online for about 45 years and the rhetoric online was also much less toxic. It's hard to say where the toxicity first came from. But if you spend more time in the real world, from my experience it's not so bad. There might be some men and women that are terrible, but they might just terrible people.

Good thing I am not a Christian. If someone isn't fair to me, I don't have to be unfair, I just don't have to be fair to them, I cut them out of my life. I generally love people and feel sorry for them even if they are broken. That doesn't mean I have to expend myself on trying to fix them, when they don't see any issues with them being the way they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/26 01:59 PM

I tend to agree it's a collective issue, but it's mostly influenced by cultural norms because we are seeing this mostly in the US and recent. There has always been a certain amount of men vs women, but I think over the last two decades it certainly has gotten worse.

Because if you can change your perspective, you can change your world. How you view a problem affects how you can solve a problem. But you seem like you got it all figured out. Like I said, good luck.

Just because you can't do it doesn't mean others can't. I use grammerly to clean up errors, but that's about it

Yeah it's a waste of your time. Move along and find other people. Trying to convert people usually doesn't work.

That's the beauty of it, I don't have to be fair to you if you are not fair to me. I am happy with my life. It has turned out way better than I would have expected. Good luck with expecting others to treat you better than you will treat them.

You don't have to engage women that are doing it. This is not to make things easier for women, or excuse toxic behavior on their part. It's literally about being a better person, which ultimately is up to you.

And so you know it's wrong, but you rationalize that because the other side gets a pass on it, you are going to do it anyways? Why do you even think that's a winning strategy? You should never let someone else's actions define your standards. You shouldn't stoop to their level. Winning on their level, is actually losing because now you are on their level.

And I wasn't saying that it should. I was asserting that there is greater commonality in that both men and women both have motivations and desires, than uniformity in specific motivations and desires. I was arguing to a more common denominator than the false one.

Because extremism in the defence of ego is a waste of energy?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/26 05:42 AM

So I have a point, but you are rationalizing ignoring it and doubling down?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/26 05:40 AM

It's more about making yourself less vulnerable to manipulation and thinking for yourself.

So you know the problem, but just think it's better to sit back and watch the situation get worse?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/26 04:33 AM

Ummm, I think not all men nor all women have a uniformity in motivations and desire. I think the only uniformity is that all humans have motivations and desire.

So doubling down on strategies that are unproductive is a good thing, and pointing out flaws is verboten. Got it.

Sure, but you can't cure cancer by speaking generally of what's wrong with the patient. You have to talk about what is specifically wrong in this patient and what treatments may work in this specific case.

Eh, if you see things only in terms of power dynamics, sure. I wouldn't call it systemic oppression; I'd call it collective oppression. But it's a minor quibble. But in any case, a person or group of people only has power over you if you want something from them. If you want to erase the power dynamic, stop wanting it. If you think that you can only be fulfilled by some external thing happening, you are likely going to be unsatisfied, not just because it may never happen, but because reality rar…

If your standard for your behavior is defined by the worst of others, then no one decent will want anything to do with you. And that's not just about finding a partner, but about having friends as well. Your approach to life is a huge part of the life that you end up living. It's really more about focusing on living up to what you consider being a decent human being, understanding that it doesn't always work out, and not taking it personally. Life is chaotic and not transactional, but you still …

I approach that as life isn't fair, but we can be fair to each other. If you won't be fair, you shouldn't expect others to be fair.

As long as you let another group of people define your framework, they control you. I've always been a proponent of the idea that outcomes are more important than rhetoric. I have no animosity towards feminism; in fact, in theory, I am 100% aligned with them that women are equal to men. It's the rhetoric they choose and scapegoating that I take issue with. Because it literally doesn't have positive outcomes, it just creates more dog whistles that get in the way of having meaningful dialogue. And…

That's the beauty of it. You don't have to depend on them being better people to be a better person. This is about developing a better framework for you to understand and solve problems in your life, and have better relationships with the people around you.

First off, you can't generalize an entire genders objectives as being simplistic enough to project them onto an entire gender. Second off this discussion based on gender is only making the situation worse.

I have found the process very pleasant. You might not get the prize that you wanted, but understanding others helps you understand yourself as well. I am close to 60 now, and was a single father for my 20s and 30s, which at least in my case made women very uninterested in me as anything more than a friend. when I hit my 40s I found that most of the women that enjoyed going to the clubs and music I like were in their 20s and 30s, which put them in a do not approach category, but I had lots of wom…

Treat every person you meet as a potential friend, and see how it develops. In order to find a real person, you need to be a real person. It's actually a pretty low effort with low yields as well. Its a reflection on the rarity of decent human beings in the modern society than the method itself. It takes a real long time in my experience. So yeah, it's a long game strategy. But keep yourself occupied with other things that make life worth living.

Something to consider is that modern culture is increasingly goal-oriented and fantasy-driven, leading to romantic relationships being commodified. People are being objectified on both sides. So you are right in a way, but for all the wrong reasons. Not everyone is like that, but probably 85% of the population is. If all you attract or are attracted to are shallow, materialistic women, maybe you should not be good bait for them. In order to find someone that is self aware, you need to be self aw…

Eh, everybody thinks they are good on paper, and somehow that translates into healthy, successful relationships. Find someone with whom you can be vulnerable, and who can be vulnerable with you. Relationships aren't goals; once you achieve them, you won't be happy and fulfilled. You have to be those things to begin with, to also be that way in a relationship. You need to be the kind of person who is developed enough to be alone without being lonely. Love is greatly overrated; people will love yo…

Yes it does, as most young people are single to begin with and only start cohabitating and getting married in their late 20s to their 30s Please for the love of God, learn how to google stuff, so I don't have to do it for you. Actually it's because the mortality rate of men vs women is higher regardless of age, race, or any other factor.
