It goes up and down. Some days I'm excited and happy about it, other times thinking of my ex makes me angry and sad. You need a few more wins and loses to put this in perspective. Your angry about who you were and hopeful about who you will be. Here's the thing, past you dies every minute and future you is never born, so your always you, in the moment.

She is aware how much family means to me and I want her to come on board with non-western medicine. This statement summarizes your interaction with your wife on this topic. No matter what you literally say, she hears through your body language "wife, you don't love your child". You have to hear her advice as your First Officer. On the parts you agree with, rephrase it as a statement and make it your decision. As for medicine, you can dry out mold and make penicillin or just go get penicillin. So…

I was at my mother in laws with wife and sisters this week so there was A LOT of opportunity to get used to it. Lots of little fights and ups and downs. I saw how these things mean next to nothing to women even though the volume of the emotions is loud at the time. I made light of the little fights a few times just by light heartedly giving them shit. I expected to step on my dick at least a little doing this but it just diffused the tension each time. I get you were trying to get used to female…

I agree. I noticed the parallels in last weeks OYS. More from removing the scarcity mindset at least in a career environment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Career: This week was both good and bad. I have a side gig that takes very little time and attention and out-earns my main salary. I also commute about 45 minutes each way which is a time-and-headspace suck. You may want to consider which job is the side-gig? I'm presuming the main gig provides insurance or some other benefit above the side-gig.

I will add in the walking component. The thing I'm intentionally trying to avoid is the severe cutting/severe gaining cycle of eating mistake, I have repeated many times in the past.
/r/MarriedRedPill14/12/21 03:11 PM
2

Clearly I have been living in the past, in what was, rather that what is. Specifically I dwell on mistakes I have made, the women I’ve had, how my wife used to be, who I used to be. All these thoughts drag me down - keep me anchored to who I was. A self-imposed prison. I go through this every couple months. The amount of time in the regret cycle loses intensity and duration. Just keep banging away at this stuff.

Nope. Other than practice doing it right and building frame. I'm knee deep in the weeds of ego, blame shifting/avoiding responsibility. I think your stoic/calm problem solving concept is the right way to go. But shit, you need the indifference of a rock, to allow the emotions to flow past and not respond with anger.

That being said, you seemed fixated on how your wife reacted to you going to the gym. Were you seeking an attaboy from her, some recognition or validation for going to the gym? I get the Rule 9 thing. But at some point you have to interact with other humans. And describe that interaction to learn from it. Otherwise, every OYS is just stating what you did on the Dread levels with the no awareness of the response from the world around you. Without awareness you can't calibrate your responses to get what you want.

I told him that I would have just omitted that person's submission had they not understood after re-explaining, using different words, etc. He told me that it's easy to think that way when you only do what you want to do, and don't give a shit about anyone else. I agree with you. Especially, if the end product and deadline is my responsibility. There are mostly 2 types of these people at work, the ones who are stupid, and the ones pretending to be as a passive-aggressive power play.

You may not feel a bond with your child like you expect once it's born. In most cases it takes men quite some time to feel that, and it's usually not until they're laughing/walking/talking. That's fine. We aren't programmed like women. This. 100% it is not like the movies, "my life changed when i looked at their tiny hand" bullshit.

I was the type who wouldn’t flirt or talk much at all to other women because I believed that was loyalty. I was doing the same thing, I didn't even realize this until I read it. For the early part of the relationship, I would seek out tech jobs which had fewer female co-workers. As I moved up, it became harder to avoid but easy to "stay professional" because of harassment and stuff.
