Since when is mainstream media a credible, scientific source?

So you've used your one anecdote to make a general assertion. That's the definition of a hasty generalization. You're not a very educated person are you? It's OK, I want to help. You can find a list of other logical fallacies here: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/659/03/

You make a claim, the onus of proof is on you. I presented academic studies to support my position and you couldn't critique the methodology so you resorted to the intellectually bankrupt argument of attacking the source of funding. Show me scientific evidence to support your claims. I'll gladly change my position if the evidence supports doing so. Documentaries, blogs, and YouTube videos don't qualify as scientific evidence btw.

So I shouldn't trust academic studies but I should trust your anecdote with an N=1 and your "beliefs". Got it.

I agree fruits would be preferable to cereals and other fast/processed foods, but that's mostly because of their fibre and polyphenol content rather than the identity of the sugars within them. "Natural" sugars in fruits and sugars found in cereals and other foods are biochemically identical. Fructose is fructose whether or not it's found within a fruit or artifically added to your food. Same goes for white sugar and "whole" brown sugar; both are sucrose, which gets absorbed as glucose and fruct…

Nothing wrong with advocating eating healthy but these prescriptive nutrition posts need to stop.. no dairy? Sugar addiction? Only keto to lose weight? Complete BS. No evidence that sugar has addictive properties: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28330706 Some reviews on dairy intake and health outcomes (show that it's either neutral or beneficial): http://m.advances.nutrition.org/content/7/6/1026.full https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4006120/ http://www.nature.com/ejcn/journal/v6…

I'm not too familiar with his works- what is his point? Either way, glad to hear you have a plan you can adhere to and that works for you.

FYI Gary Taubes has largely been discredited in the scientific community. Current research seems to show that when calories, protein and fibre are equated, the relative amount of sugar/carb content in the diet will have little effect on any measurable health outcomes.

It will only provide benefit for high intensity work such as sprinting or weightlifting. No effect on endurance. It's definitely worth taking though

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
