It is easy to explain. There could be multiple reasons. For example, the woman and her family are just abusing the system. The system is not perfect, maybe people who designed the scholarship program didn’t take into account the wealth of their applicants or their goal was to specifically target women. And so what? why does it matter? Also, the solution is to have separate prisons for trans people, kinda easy? And people get raped at prisons no matter their gender, like men rape other men and women rape other women. I am very open-minded and I want to learn other perspectives. Thank you for sharing yours.

I am not an expert on that topic, so maybe someone else can speak about biology and stuff. But I don’t see any problem with people transitioning, it is a very difficult, long, painful and costly process. People who do it, don’t transition for fun, but to actually end their suffering of being in a body they are not connected with. I don’t see any problem with that. Also, science is what allows them to transition so they are very much pro science lol

Not really. Inter-sectionalism works for everyone, doesn’t matter what gender you are. For example, black men and black women experience different challenges in our society. You can add class to the equation and talk about black working class men vs white capitalist women, in which case it is east to say that the said women have it easier. But probably not because they are women, but other factors are affecting that like being white vs black in US, and being wealthy.

Exactly, but why specifically exclude people based on gender? I understand if it is about different values, interests, hobbies. Like if he was friends with only white people in the office, but kept strictly professional relationship with black coworkers. That would also raise questions.

I guess there are different groups of left but only few hypeworthy ones get in the news. Most leftists are pro science, anti discrimination. The article doesn’t really elaborate on the reasons behind this incident. Maybe there are other forces involved, like they were protecting regular farmers so they don’t lose in competition to the gmo rice producers? I don’t know, just trying to think.

That’s very interesting. I wouldn’t call these people leftist, because if you are a leftist by definition you care about regular working class people and do not discriminate. It is all about helping working class. Marx talks about that in Communist manifesto. Feminism is a left thing so it is of course a part of agenda.

Tbh it is the first time I am hearing about this. Do you have any examples? I am a leftist myself, and all the left people I know are anti sexism/racism/bigotry/any kind of discrimination, pro science, but yeah anti religion (if it promotes sexism, misogyny, etc). And the leftist goal is to actually help the common folk.

Sure! I am reading her The Will to Change. It is about men and all the difficulties we have to go through growing up and how it affects us and those around us. And how some feminists do not talk enough about men problems but they should. How modern times create new challenges for men. She also emphasizes how some women unknowingly help support current system that oppresses men. Highly recommend to everyone.

I think the reason is that he for some reason excludes women and that makes the environment uncomfortable. Like why would he be friendly with men and not women. I know there could me many reasons for that, but it still can feel strange. On the surface May look like sexism since he is differentiating and giving special treatment to colleagues based on gender
