Right? Literally just look at the criminal justice system. Or police brutality.

You can say help women and girls (too) without saying to center women and girls.

They're pretending they can't understand.

What's wrong with what I said? Is it not plausible for everyone to at least know a woman dating a shorter man?

Maybe they wouldn't comment if they knew they were contributing? Also everyone knowing someone in the bottom five percent is plausible.

Slightly off topic but while modern white people don't need to apologize for slavery as they didn't personally perpetuate it, reparations are not punishment. It's a fact that hundreds of years of slavery made black Americans today worse off. For hundreds of years, black Americans could not build generational wealth and once they were freed, they were just told to get over it and pull themselves up by the bootstraps like everything was equal now. It wasn't.

It's so funny too because if feminism were truly for everyone, then male advocacy would be a part of feminism.

You shouldn't have had to be desensitized into accepting people hating you for the way you were born.

I love when they assume everyone who would have a problem with generalizing an entire group of people (especially based on an immutable characteristic) must be part of that group. Like, let me know when I magically transformed into a man.

There are reasonable, non-misandrist women out there who aren't conservatives, I promise. It may take some looking though.

Yes, not all women. Just like how misogynists are not all men. I'd expect people of this sub of all places to understand the concept of "generalizing all people of entire gender is bad". If you mean feminists, say that.

Not "women".

I've seen so many people decide pretty privilege is not a real thing like it's not a scientifically documented phenomenon and is just whining by people who want to feel oppressed.

If you're comparing something you're born as to an ideological group, you've already failed.

No, baggage is connotation. Not definition.

Why should I believe this is real though?

Intersectional feminism, like the rest of feminism, still says there's a patriarchy and that men are oppressors and women oppressed. There's no acknowledgment that gender roles harm everyone.

It's people on the left and right but it's not everyone.

Can you give a source for that?

Yeah, I don't get that either?

They didn't say all white people are racist. They said all the people on Threads are racist white people.

Most trans people don't get bottom surgery, do they?

And you sound like a misogynist if you think all women must be motivated by male attention.

Oh, I remember when the media could not stop themselves from calling what he said "a screed" or a "manifesto" and when I looked, he said nothing wrong but I was told I had internalized misogyny or whatever for pointing out what he actually said (which was not that women are less suited than men to tech jobs or whatever bullshit they came up with). Ugh.

we could argue that trying to proscribe that use of "females" is racist and insensitive to dialect diversity. I have pointed this out more than once and basically received "nuh-uh" as a response. Literally black women call OURSELVES females.

The idea that we apparently have no room on the left for anyone uncomfortable with blatant hatred of them (for something they can't control!) and then we turn around and tell them that that hatred isn't real... It's really sad. And then the unironically telling them to go to conservatives if they want someone who cares... Lol, way to shoot yourself in the foot.

Usually in sentences like that mean "most women" or "many women". Edit: Like, if someone said "humans are bipedal," would you say "so disabled people aren't human?"

You're saying this like LGBT people can't be men.

Slightly off topic but I thought we were past calling some people "ethnic" when everyone has an ethnicity. And yet here it is: "Ethnic Americans".

I couldn't donate much (just 10 USD) but I'm glad to see an organization like this exists.

trans men have systemic power that they can and do leverage against women, including cis women, regardless of the status or type of their transition Are they really saying a closeted trans man or a trans man who literally just started transitioning has systemic power over women???

Some apples are green and some hair is blonde. We use the word "some" because otherwise it sounds like a generalization. For example, I don't think you would like it if I said men are annoying.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/06/24 06:50 PM

Toxic masculinity should not be a term. But saying "toxic masculinity" even sort of suggests that masculinity is toxic is like saying "green apple" sort of suggests "apples are green" or "blonde hair" sort of suggests "hair is blonde". That's not how adjectives work.

Blackness being a social construct doesn't mean that blackness is stereotypes.

No problem, but you can continue to argue against things no one has said or ever will say if you'd like.

I have no opinion on whether toxic masculinity or toxic femininity is a thing.

Blackness is the state of being black. Masculinity is not the state of being a man.

The first bolded sentence suggests otherwise.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/06/20 10:59 PM

Saying "toxic masculinity" means all masculinity is toxic is like saying "green apple" means all apples are green.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
