I guess I just wonder how is it women who have no money and men who have money can build relationships off of similarities but it’s so rare for men without money and women with money to do the same?

They have their own careers now because they could rely on their wealthy partner for support. It’s not as black and white, I just think almost all relationships are transactional, even when the people are “good” people.

It sucks because I wouldn’t say the women I’m describing are even gold diggers. They seem like kind caring people who are just attracted to men with status and money more than anything else. I don’t know if that makes them shitty or what, because they’ve been kind supportive friends to me. Maybe I’m not cut out for corporate life, or whatever. I wish I could leave but there is no way we could afford it, and I would feel awful abandoning my family for any reason.

Man if I’m honest I have such a hard time with this. I do think I’m at the point where I have no issue being attractive to someone, and not having any difficulty conversing or maintaining a relationships. I’ve gone through school, I take care of myself, I’m good at things, like really good. Good enough to inspire envy in people sometimes. But my family is super broke, we live in a shit shack and I’m the first person to have made it through university. My Mom was more or less abandoned by her fam…

As a visible minority, and a man, you will likely receive less empathy from both white women and men, tbh even women of color seem to empathize more with white women and men than they do men of color in the western world(I’ve lived in Canada my whole life as a mixed race person, this is the only context I can speak from). Unfortunately this means you will have less opportunities to be truly vulnerable with people. Develop your internal sense of security, and it will help you seek out individuals…

Whether you believe it or not changes nothing, keep your head up, you’ll get over your insecurity.

I pass the time with Reddit. Constructing arguments and understanding arguments I have to do as a part of my job, so these kinds of discussion come quite easily. It took me under a minute to type this. It took me like 2-3 to add some of the edits. Just because it takes a lot of effort for you to do something, doesn’t mean it does for me 😊.

The opinions of others online don’t cause me feelings of embarrassment 🤷🏽‍♂️. The fact that you think they would is because they do to you, which is the only embarrassing thing here.

You to.

The issue lies in the fact that they totally ignored the part following where I created a definition for what I constitute as reasonable to express it over and what isn’t.

You are actually, the entire manner in which you’ve phrased your argument has been dismissive and insulting. You’ve more or less agreed with me but have taken issue with something outside of my actual point to start an argument.
/r/ExRedPill26/07/24 05:09 PM
-3

I disagree, I think some things are fine to get that feeling for, some things are harmless and demonstrates a highly judgemental attitude. Hence my argument, which you agree with because you think my justification for feeling it when someone else does it is not justified. Further I find adults don’t typically use language like this to express their emotions and feelings. In fact I clearly stated this in my post where you quote me but highlighted only the selection you wanted.
/r/ExRedPill26/07/24 05:08 PM

And? Are you now saying that they’re justified in doing it and I’m not? It’s not like I said I would socially pariah them, I just wouldn’t want to date them. There is nothing wrong with that.
/r/ExRedPill26/07/24 04:40 PM

These kinds of tik tok trends have people expressing that emotion over very trivial things. I’ve seen some that view even playing a trading card game like magic the gathering as an ick, when it’s a harmless social past hobby.

I agree. Honestly, and this is not a slight against all women, because I know lots who aren’t like this as you described, but if I heard a adult woman use the word “ick” to describe behaviour they didn’t like, I would lose any and all interest. Unless it’s something that is actually gross in terms of emotional, physical or hygienic boundaries it really just comes off as exceedingly judgemental. Even then, the language and phrasing just comes off incredibly immature. Let people like this self sel…

Why should someone else care about fulfilling that? Which is what the full context of this sentence is referring to.
/r/ExRedPill19/07/24 02:20 AM

I guess for me I stopped caring about what people say they find attractive because quite often it doesn’t line up with what they select in reality, so it’s sort of not worth putting any stock into/caring about. Finding yourself attractive, working on your own style that you feel comfortable in and maintaining hygiene are all much more important even if they don’t result in a partner immediately. I think that work will make you attractive to the right people but likely not all people, and ultimat…

Why would I need to calm down? There is 0 tone on the internet, and the assumption that I’m emotional about this might be projection on your part? You do seem to now be falling back on more casual language to attempt to portray that you aren’t bothered by being challenged on this. Given the immediate responses to how you’ve attempted this from the OP, I think it was obvious very early that the path you were going down wasn’t working, but you pushed anyways? Why didn’t you offer him any meaningfu…

I actually offered a meaningful suggestion, rather than condescending him about his feelings. Your pithy replies offer nothing of real substance and instead serve to diminish. I’ll believe you when I see it. The specific comment about “coddling” is especially telling I think. You believe that you’re giving people “tough love” so to speak but the fact is you’ve not modeled the “love” part at all. You have a chip on your shoulder, and you’re extraordinarily bitter. That much is obvious. Might I su…

Forgiving yourself and accepting that you’ve made mistakes is probably the most important part. Which is what this sounds like to me. I think you need to try and conceive of ways to improve your connection with yourself. Have you ever done gratitude journals? Essentially everyday you wake up and write 3-5 things you’re grateful for. It’s important to do this daily because it creates a new way of thinking for your brain. Gratitude is an immensely positive emotion, and you can develop a healthier …

Do you realize that he is in no way obliged to offer the meaningful steps he might be taking towards this to you? Where does your entitlement come from? I’ve seen your comments before, and to be completely honest I’m not sure you’re here in good faith. It seems more so that you want to diminish people and their steps towards changing their life. The statement he is making are in fact the first step, yes maybe he doesn’t have an exact plan figured out right now, but wanting to do better is a very…

That’s true, they can be gross and violent. I always try and de-escalate people though, and as a man I can handle them if they get like that. Have you ever thought about being active in like a men’s support group IRL for this stuff? I’ve been thinking it would be massively helpful for myself and for other men so we can challenge stuff they have internalized in a place that feels free of judgement.

That’s basically what I said lol. I don’t disagree at all, you’ve essentially taken my point and rephrased it at me. But I think broadly if you look at trends for what people actually select for it’s usually ethnicity/class/social groups. I was just watching a video from an anthropologist on this. I’m not sure kindness is ever really been determined as something people select for, whether they claim to select for it, and select for other things is something else all together. I would be interest…

Honestly, just seems like nonsense. People select others for whacky shit and quite often act against their own best interests all the time. I am a coloured person, and I have had a massive amount of terrible experiences with white people, I don’t treat all of them as though they’re a constant threat to me despite the threats of violence, attempted attacks or bigotry. That being said, I get real fucking nervous around conservatives any stripe because they’re typically the ones who are very open a…

I just wanted to say you’ve done a fantastic job with the way you handled this. It’s easy to get caught up in feeling shame because you’re a part of a demographic that someone is expressing mistrust or anger towards. Having someone acknowledge how patriarchy affects both men and women is really important in helping one center themself in these kinds of social conflicts and accepting that though they may have fucked up in the past, they can unlearn what’s been passed onto them by a system that ca…

It fucking sucks. As a man, it’s hard to communicate that another guy might be a sexist to women because sometimes if they’re interested in that guy, they’ll say you’re jealous or something. It’s this weird double sided coin where they put up with so much from men that they don’t trust them, even if the guy is just trying to be a good friend. In those situations all you can do is be there for them and not judge too harshly. It’s not my responsibility to take care of anyone, but that doesn’t mean…

Yeah that’s totally fair, and I should say, she is in no way culpable for how men treat her. Con artists do as con artists do, and it’s not fair to blame the people who have been conned just for trusting.

It’s honestly mind blowing women can’t pick up that theyre red pillers faster. Maybe lots of men are just really good at deception, or maybe the red pill type of guy is more likely to be very good at deception because of the content he consumes. I’ve never really had any issue figuring out that those dudes are like that, but that could be that they hide it from women and try to profligate it to men whenever they can. So it’s more likely that they’ll just tell me they suck rather than hide it unt…

Or a different kind of therapy, but yes exposing this stuff to people online isn’t going to help him. Most in this thread have already made some pretty scathing indictments of his character while not knowing much about him at all. It’s really not healthy for someone already suffering.

He literally replied to you that he has seen a therapist lmao. Jesus, microagrressions are people treating him poorly. You acknowledge that in the final statement about YOUR OWN experiences but not his. I have projected nothing. Look at how people respond to what you say, you can’t actually think you’re helping anyone here right? You get upvoted but all that means is other here’s agree with you, not that you’ve done anything. Someone asking for advice does not justify telling them they have “poo…

Yeah that’s actually exactly why he’s already doing therapy lmao. You’re just looking to degrade someone and you have no real useful advice. Advice I gave him is actually EXACTLY the advice I was given by my therapist as well. I said nothing about not treating emotions with therapy, I just read what he said, treated him as a human and understood that he was already in it, and it is absolutely not my place to step into his discussions with his therapist. You need to learn boundaries, you need to …

I agree that this person is being either insincere or ignorant. You need to find something you can control to give yourself that feeling back. Get something else to obsess over, something that can pull you away in a healthy way and let you see that you’re valuable regardless of whether those around you are recognizing it. The hole can’t be filled by the world, it’s yours, fill it with stuff that makes you happy and can bring you peace. Any sort of hobby or pursuit. EDIT: Also to add, once you’ve…

This comment comes off pretty ignorant to what life is like for people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds working or studying beside people who have a much greater set of opportunities provided to them. Quite often class barriers limit individuals ability to share experiences, which is what this person is really complaining about. The way he is viewing the world is not dysfunctional, it’s honest. He needs to be honest with himself about how the world is oriented around him, and in some …

I have had some not bad conversations, but I find a lot of these spaces for “men” are not super friendly or really that welcoming. The weird red pill spaces are super toxic and not good for your own thinking and self talk/how you rationalize the world, but some places that have a similiar slant like bropill are terrible. It might sound bad, and I would totally hear out how this might be sexist, but I think many of these spaces aimed at dismantling red pill ideology are occupied mostly by women, …

I don’t know if I have any advice, but I can relate. I didn’t win a way into a fancy school, but my Mom is a single parent immigrant with no generational wealth. I managed to get through a tough university program and landed a decent government job. Everyone I work with grew up with two parents, is married and or has kids. They all have houses and make way more money than me. Talking to them about my experiences is probably the most frustrating thing about it because it feels like I’m getting ga…

That’s true, I think I do have a thick skin based on surviving as long as I have, but I will focus on the things that are helpful to. It’s frustrating to have people gaslight me about my experiences as a minority in real life though. Usually a lot more shaming and social pressure is involved in trying to get me to stop talking about it, especially form white people. I do have good friends to focus on and value, and this has helped me feel a little bit more involved in a community even if it’s on…

I have a hard time picking a part what treatment is because of what these days. I for sure experience extreme depression at times and suicidal ideation, but even when I have that others tell me I look good. Considered a leader and someone reliable and easy to talk to at work, or in social circles. My mental health will never just be fixed, I’ve been working in it since I’ve been quite young. For sure I’ve got ADHD, but I’m not going to excuse others treating me poorly because they don’t recognize the symptoms and signs of mental health, or are less likely to try and understand them because I’m not like them. I think it’s impossible to seperate any of these factors, they all coalesce into my experience. I have my forms of coping mechanisms such as art and exercise and the like, but tbh I mostly just want to be heard and not told that what I’ve experienced doesn’t have to do with who …

I think also pretending like racial bias doesn’t factor into how women look at men of color in particular white women is vastly overlooked. They are just as capable of and participate in racism like white men do. Black men die when white women call the police on them for doing something innocuous. The levers of power at my job are not at all affected by me being a potential partner or expressing interest, it’s purely a power dynamic at play through white supremacy. I haven’t expressed interest o…

Could show link the research that demonstrates they are more empathetic? I’m curious as to how they ascertained something like that. I’ve heard that idea ever since I was young, but in my experience i have not encountered that they are more or less empathetic as a group but have found certain individuals to be so regardless of expressed gender. The most empathetic person at my work is a non-binary person they’re incredibly supportive, but I had to leave for stress leave because the women(predomi…

Those are excellent choices. I’ve played guitar for about 17 years and it’s an great way to build a real sense of accomplishment and pride. It is also a very deep and broad skill set so you always have something new to learn. Maybe taking advantage of any available group therapy could be a good way to start now without needing a dedicated therapist? The sooner the better. I put it off, and I think I would have benefited dramatically from pursuing therapy as actively as I’ve pursued other hobbies…

But at least you know those are your feelings right? That means you’re the one with control over them. Meditation is important, therapy is another good way to learn about why you’re feeling below others. Negative experiences can shape how we view life, but they aren’t all life is. Self improvement can be helpful, but is not the end all be and can be quite taxing on yourself. Self acceptance is the most important thing I believe to help you contextualize yourself in the world around you.

Pretty women date average looking men fairly consistently(attractive men date average women as well, shit just happens). Her being attractive isn’t so much a barrier for her finding you attractive, but how you feel about it creates a barrier that doesn’t let you present your best self, which might end up showing off the qualities that would make you attractive. She’s just a person. People have all sorts of unexpected desires and likes and dislikes. You can’t know if she has an unexpected interes…

I'm not a gigantic genius at this stuff either, and I've only been reading up on PUA for a few months, but the stuff thats really stuck with me is the stuff that focuses on being fun, and having a good time, no matter what you do or what happens. Its like a really awesome form of therapy. It helps you learn to become more comfortable in just being you, and attracting people(women AND men, because no matter what anyone says, you can NEVER have to many friendships imo.) of similar interests to you…
