You're absolutely setting your child up for "preachers kid" syndrome. The more you try to control her and her thoughts and opinions the more viciously she's going to rebel the second she's out of your sight. It may be at 16 when she gets a license, at 18 when she goes to college or at 22 when she moves out and in eith a supportive friend or family member. But she will EVENTUALLY leave your sphere of control, and the more you try to control and limit her the more she will explode when she's free.

I read online somewhere a conversation between two women that went like this : Lady 1: I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I just keep attracting losers. Lady2: Honey, you're a smart, intelligent, hard working, independent, pretty woman. You attract everyone. Then you pick the losers. But that's the joy of being here in FDS is you're learning to raise your standards and not pick the losers. Congratulations on raising your standards!!

I've found that anyone, especially men who say "I'm just brutally honest" 99% of the time are more interested in being brutal than being honest.

Oh my god yes. My biggest annoyance when I'm on those relationship subreddits its like "My boyfriend is abusive and emotionally manipulates me, also he killed my dog and my mom hates him. But he brought me flowers that one time so are these red flags?" Like. YES. THOSE ARE ALL RED FLAGS RUN HOME GIRL RUN

I'll add my 2 cents here: I met my fiance about 2 years ago. He's an amazing man. He takes care of me, he loves me, he's always willing to "work" on us. He had some trouble expressing his feelings when we first met, and he's gotten a ton better as we've discussed it. Now when we have an issue or he has a concern we sit down and we talk about it. Actually talk. No yelling, not fighting, just "Hey I've noticed lately that you've been slacking on your half of the chores, whats going on?" And its al…

Size and strength are factors, but in the end they may not be the final determinate. Also, I'm so sorry that you've been through all that! Shame on any woman who hits a man without the intent of getting in a fair fight. Edit : Actually, shame on anyone who gets into a fight without the intention of doing it fairly and for good reason. Women are just a special case to me because I think it's an unfair double standard that a man can hit a woman and earn jail time but a woman can beat the shit out …

That's ideal, but untrue. I don't normally carry (I'm sure most people don't normally carry) but most men can pick me up. If given proper warning and time, and some preparation I can probably defend myself relatively well. But I'm rarely given any of those, and I wasn't given any of it at all when a larger man came into the women's bathroom and tried to shove his hands down my pants. Why couldn't I stop him? His hands were large enough to hold both my wrists. He used his body to hold mine still …

Please stop referring to me as "middle class white women" and "you people". You do not know me, nor do you know my financial situation, and unless you've gone through my post history you likely don't know my race either. And honestly if "your mothers" had raised you better maybe you would have the social skills needed to approach women in ways other than yelling at them from across the street or following them around. This "whiny hollaback video" could refer to the original video or this sham, p…

Which is something the original video brings up, and should be challenged on. But these purposely satirical video's are calling away from that. It is unfair that all men are being labeled by the bad example those few in the video set. It is not fair to anyone who isn't something to be as being that thing. (see, racist, sexist, etc). Not all men are cat callers. But trying to say that women should be flattered when they are cat called or asking what she was wearing is just harmful to the situatio…

And? Though I can't b 100% sure I'm gonna guess she didn't ask every black guy she passed to make a pass at her.

Either or both parties could have anywhere from Mace, knife, gun, tazer. Those aren't "small people only" items.

I think It's so freaking creepy. Unless it's some weird marketing ploy...ugh. shudders it's just so weird. I mean, originally it was 2 girls that just took his photo over a stupid teenage crush, but it caught like wildfire and has become so ridiculous his girlfriend is receiving death threats. SO not okay

I feel it's an issue because it limit's people's ability to go out in public with as much ease and casualness as they would probably like. For example, a 2013 study of 93,000 LGBQT individuals in the European Union found that half avoided public spaces sometimes because of street harassment and most reported high levels of fear in locations like restaurants, public transportation, streets, parking lots, and parks. I'm not talking man woman I'm talking people. It's simply a rude thing to do. Why …

It IS a problem and honestly, though I know this is the go to response, to say it isn't is to tell me you haven't experienced it. Maybe you have, I don't know you. But maybe you haven't had a few too many "friendly" conversations that begin with "You're beautiful" and end with "Please don't touch me." I have, which is why I think street harassment is a problem. She was followed, do you know how creepy that is? Maybe it was bad parts of town, maybe it was a video created to get responses, maybe s…

Not that this helps, but the guy I was referring to in my comment as 2x my size was a white football player who was taller than 6ft and played defense. He thought it was okay to try and "talk" me into dating/sleeping with him and that particular instance began with "hey cutie". I'm sorry, if my comment came across as racist, it wasn't my intention to be. I truly mean that, I am sorry if i offended you. I have no problems with people simply because they are "big and tall" my brother and father bo…

Why has this suddenly becomes a race issue? I don't think it's a race issue, or it shouldn't be. And Emmett Till was in 1955. That's almost 60 years ago, and not really a relevant example at this point. No, what really hurts people is when they take an issue like street harassment, claim it doesn't happen, and tell people that entitled white women don't deserve to complain about a single thing because they are white. THAT's racism too.

I understand that harassment is a hard topic to talk about, because it's a line. What may be just a friendly hello to some people may come across as creepy. it is all 100% dependent on both the person giving and receiving the interaction. But far too often in the comments beneath the video I have seen "Can't she take a compliment?" or "Why isn't she flattered?" and that defeats the purpose of the video, and of the awareness it was meant to raise.

Look I'm not saying that this is a fair double standard or that men don't get harassed they obviously d . But I feel like posting these purposely satirical harrasment videos take away from the real problem which is that street harassment is NOT cool. Period. No gender involved the thought that your opinion of someone is so important they have to know i . That is the problem and all these new videos showing harrasment in a purposely comical light are detracting from something that REALLY FUCKING …

What I think is ironic is just a few days ago I saw a post damning TwoX because one of their posters had pointed out it was just a minority of men. MensRights called her a racist and berated the poster for being a racist and for trying to "claim moral high ground" when they said t wasn't racist to point out a minority.

I'm glad to hear that. It's always a good idea to put yourself in the best situation you can.

I don't think that's a fair thing to say. Fair portion of cases could be prevented if the victims didn't dress so provocatively While I agree with you, women who purposely dress to atract attention should not then be offended when they recieve it, i don't think that any woman dressing any way is "asking for it" as your comment seeme to imply. If a man is walking around with his shirt off, am I free to taze and peg him? It seems kind of unfair to tell women that unless they dress a certain way th…

Just a question, but what kind of women are you hanging out with that this is a regular thing, bro? You sound like you're REALLY used to being hit by women I've attempted in the past Or is this mostly hypothetical?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
