Are they the guys you call to enforce agreements that you've reached in other venues; in this case the courts? Do they really come to do this sort of work for people? You hit the nail on the goddamn head. I'm not a cop, but it's amazingly common (in my area, anyway) for police to be called to situations that don't have any clear need for an officer.

Same reason why I never hesitate to loan moneys less than $50. If they never pay it back? Pretty cheap way to figure out who's a shitbag.

There's a shit ton of acting in D&D and other tabletop games. Also keep in mind that his Riddick character is literally one of his RPG characters. Dude financed Chronicles of Riddick largely with his own money.

I see why you can take issue with that point, but I don't think they meant anything by it. I'm a parent. It's not easy: kids demand your attention at all times. Turn around for thirty seconds, and they've somehow made a mess that takes five minutes to clean up. Even with a partner helping it's stressful. I think about trying to do this alone and it honestly seems impossible. I will call any single parent's work an admirable job, the same way I'd call an EMT or firefighter an admirable job - it's…

The problem is that if she meant it as a suggestion she'll still probably backpedal from admitting this. How could OP draw a response out that could differentiate a repressed desire from a shit test?

If it fits her personality, I think she may have been trying some kind of dirty talk or fantasy roleplay ideas.

This is literally just an excuse for some Sociology majors to play dress-up and make themselves the center of attention. It's actually pretty pathetic how they have no idea what actual physical work is like. A pushbroom? Really?

We don't know anything for sure, since this is only her side of the story. But she makes it sound like his decision to call off the wedding came without warning to her. Even if my fiancée was being an irrational hateful bitch, I'd still try to talk to her and tell her my feelings before deciding that it won't work. I'm also playing devil's advocate because sometimes r/mensrights can be a little one-sided, and for our issues to be taken seriously we can't afford that - it's already easy enough to…

Do we have anything from the man's point of view? I know nobody likes to paint themselves in a bad light, but from her story it sounds like he dropped this on her pretty quickly. Doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman, that's pretty shitty.

We agree, then - we're just talking about different scenarios. "Did you steal my cheeseburger?" "..." This admits nothing. The defendant could be shy or simply trying to think of a response. "Did you steal my cheeseburger?" "I like cheeseburgers." This, I feel, is an inductive admission of guilt. By refusing to address the main question and instead changing the subject, the defendant is implying that they do not want to answer the question - which strongly suggests they stole it. TL;DR I hate th…

I'm not saying it's evidence - but remaining silent is very different than nervously changing the subject.

Grammatically or logically, it's not an admission of guilt. At least, not in the If P Then Q form. But the failure to address a primary part of the conversation (accusation that the cheeseburger was stolen) and redirecting to another topic (I like cheeseburgers) is more than enough to convince a judge or jury.

Came here to post this. Cell phones are excellent recording tools, and you can find wonderful remote-recording applications. Also don't forget that there are cheap 'spy camera' toys in the range of $20 that can take decent video and audio.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
