Yes and no in my case. But if I’d stayed married any longer then definitely not worth it. Like ugh bleh

2 years is nothing. If both of you are working and in your thirties and you bought the house before marriage then i don’t think you’d have to give a lot. Maybe just the incomes after marriage would be divided in half.

I’m also in AZ. Yeah AZ courts don’t like to give spousal maintenance 😁

I have questions. What state are you in? Does she work and how much she make? How long were you married for?

That sounds hard man. I don’t think moving in with parents is a shame though. Better than living with that partner that brings so much stress.

True, I definitely need a lawyer n I did speak to one. I wouldn’t have to pay bcuz AZ courts don’t like to give spousal maintenance.

It is scary. I actually know this isn’t good for me but I’m staying bcuz I’m afraid to pull the trigger. Guess I’ll just have to do it nevertheless. Mind me asking how long you were married for?

Idk why I fall prey to her guilting and end up feeling sorry and responsible for her.

I know man that’s what my logic says. I think I need to get over this mental block and file for it.

Yeah I’m definitely the latter. I’m looking for a good enough reason to leave so I can justify that to myself.

Yes I don’t think you’d have to pay anything. Same goes for me and I’ve had a therapist who’s pushing me in that direction bcuz both of us know it’s the right time. I rather do it now than later.
/r/Divorce_Men26/04/24 11:44 PM

Yeah that’s what I should be doing RIGHT NOW.
/r/Divorce_Men26/04/24 11:18 PM

Oh wow, mind me asking if you had to pay alimony?

Exactly my feeling! I feel like I’m the bad guy though she’s been toxic this entire time. I’ve started being toxic now after 4 years of being quiet and suppressed as ‘understanding’ of her.

That sounds really rough man. I’m so sorry. Mind me asking how long you been married for?

I go no contact bcuz I travel to my friends often under the pretext of work but can’t muster up the courage to file for it. Now is the right time but idk why I feel like I’m a coward or I’ve been manipulated and obligated to feel this way into caring for her.

I’ve been considering for over a year and should’ve filed last year but I just got late and then we got into a lease so I stayed ugh.

Man it takes a lot of strength. You’ve been manipulated probably just like I’ve been. I need some of that strength to up keep leave

What was your reaction then!? 😳

How long have you been married for if you don’t mind me asking? Did she move just like that and said she’s filing for a divorce?
/r/Divorce_Men03/04/24 02:37 AM

Wow that’s surprising 😳

lol nah, wish I had that kind of income though. I would’ve recovered in no time even if I had to give her half 😂
/r/Divorce_Men24/01/24 04:39 PM
1

Really?! Bcuz when we fight and talk divorce she threatens me with how much more I make than her
/r/Divorce_Men24/01/24 01:53 PM

Oh 11 is kinda long time you did slay it then! 😂 my wife is 3 years younger, 4 years married, both in 30’s and no kids or assets & both employed. Wonder how it’s gona go. Tysm!

Do you mind me asking how much she got in 401K?
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/24 08:53 PM

Ah, the 401K part sucks I’m sorry. Also, was age a factor? How long were you married for though?

So the moment my papers are filed by my attorney before my spouse is served right?
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/23 10:03 PM
1

Oh 😳so that’s different huh or is it for every state?
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/23 06:38 PM
1

Right, I was under the impression that the timer starts when the spouse gets the papers & they sign it too & then it’s filed.
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/23 03:32 PM
1

So once the attorney files them with the court from my side is when the 60-90 day window starts right? & that 60-90 waiting period includes the 30 days for her to respond correct?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
